Q: Does it work for 2020 x3m comp f97?

It will "work" with any car with a standard OBD port. That said, I was to use it with Bimmerlink. It.would connect.to my smart.phone, but at about 2 minutes or so it would disconnect and I had to manually restore it. Also if left in the OBD port and the car locked, it.would.set off the car alarm in 45.seconds or so. I got another dongle that ran on Bluetooth rather than wifi and issues went away. I don't know if problem was because of the app or the wifi dongle. My car is 2019 540i.

Yes, with the proper app like bimmerlink.

Q: Can the ssid be changed? I want to use multiple in a shop but don't want 7 of the same network names

Yes you can change it, here’s how: Go to 192.168.16.254 and enter 'admin' as the username and 'EnetWif131519' as the password. That will let you change the SSID and network key. The network key NEEDS to be 8 digits. After that's changed, you'll have to reconnect to the SSID you just changed it to.

Q: Does this device auto shut off? Can it be left plugged in without draining the battery?

It does not auto shut off. It needs to be unplugged when not in use.

Funktioniert bei mir NICHT mit Bimmercode

Hätte misstrauisch sein sollen, da es nur zwei Bewertungen auf Amazon und ein Youtube-Video mit weniger als 100 Aufrufen zu dem Produkt gab.Und nein, ich war nicht zu doof, das Produkt mit meinem IPhone zu verbinden. Denn der Adapter funktioniert mit dem xHP Flashtool. Dafür habe ich den Adapter aber nicht bestellt.

Great little adapter

Nice little adapter that can be used for many things. I coded my 335 with mhd and this adapter does it especially quick. It took 5 minutes to flash a stage 1 map. When using an Enet cable for the exact same map, it took 40 minutes. Really convenient and time saving. Connects to phone easily, make sure you manually set the router address and ip on the wifi settings for it to work well with bm3 or mhd. Works just like any of the other bmw Enet wifi adapters like the kies motorsports or mhd one. Overall, highly recommend, especially when it’s on sale.

Works with Protool

I can confirm that it works with bimmergeeks protool. Have not tried the wired connection yet since I don't have a network cable handy. Could not get it to work with bimmerlink but I haven't bought a license for that and didn't try very hard. Seems very fast with protool. I do have to manually reconnect sometimes after cycling the ignition after coding an option. Overall very happy with the choice of this adapter.
