How is this on adult hair?

Sorry I only use for 1.5 yo child and toddler. I cannot answer the specific. Adult may use baby shampoo, in a sense of being more gentle shampoo. However, I have no experience thus not sure if adult will achieve the same outcome for cleanliness etc as compared to adult shampoo formulated for adult hair.

J&J brand has changed and is thin and runny - is this thicker?

Yes, it’s thick. It’s not that runny but easy to wash on baby’s body. It feels soft and smooth after bath. I like the smell of this one.
