This ice mold is the best of the three types I've tested. It is easy to fill as there is a line in the solid part that shows you how much water to put it. Then, the silicone top presses down on the solid part and there are air release holes in each ball to insure it actually forms round balls. Once frozen, it is very easy to release the balls. They all come out separated and round. To release them you run a little water over the solid tray of the mold then flip it back over and press on the flexible center of each ball and they fall right into the solid tray. Excellent !! I only gave this 4 stars because the balls it makes are not really 2.2" only 2". I drink Scotch on the rocks and prefer a larger ice ball but this works okay so I'm keeping this mold.

I love that they have covers on the trays and they are so clear. I’ve tried to get the ice out while the cover is still on lol I would definitely recommend them.

It's a little tricky to get it to make perfectly round balls, but in my first 2 fillings of the two trays I've easily gotten 4/6 either perfect or close enough cubes per tray. The directions talk about pouring off excess, but if you fill to the line level and put the lid on without trying to clean up, it comes out better. The box for holding the ice is great while you freeze another set. The balls are a little smaller than some I've had or get in restaurants, but I like the size for my drinks. Removing the ice from the tray is difficult because it's almost completely rigid. Keeping it out for a couple minutes lets it melt a little and they come out more easily. The tongs are useless. They don't help to remove the ice, they can't pick up a ball from the box, they are pointless. For $10 it is a good value.

Perfect mold

Love this ice cube tray. The ice spheres are not seamless and perfect but I don't care. I really only bought this for the tray, it's much easier and faster to load this one compared to the ones where you have to use a funnel. The spheres are large too, not an annoying size for a glass, in my opinion.
