Plug Extraction Tool - Remove Broken Headphone Plug from Mobile Devices

This is a brilliant little product. My 7 yr old broke her headphone jack in her Amazon Fire tablet 2 months ago. I had tried everything, then came across this. It worked after the 3rd try. The first time I didn't push it down far enough, 2nd time I tapped it a little too hard so it bent. The 3rd time it came out without problem and we were able to hear sound from the tablet for the first time in months. Worth the money, I have a happy 7 yr old. .

So happy with this product! It was able to remove a broken headphone plug after only a few attempts. Pliers definitely helped a lot as other have suggested. We also needed tweezers at the end but without this tool we couldn't have done it. Previously we had tried all the online hacks but nothing worked and I wasn't comfortable with the superglue method. So this has been the solution and I am so happy this tool exists. I didn't even know until I searched for it on Amazon. Highly recommend!

I used all of them on the same stuck object. Nothing worked. They crushed on first use. As soon as you squeezed the top the bottom flared out. I've never been so disappointed in a product.

Really simple idea and worked perfectly first time. you probably need a fairly strong grip but it was a complete success and easy to do.

At first all the slaves just slipped off the snapped plug as they are fairly flimsy. By squeezing it slightly smaller before applying and then pulling tightly with pliers, the broken piece appeared. Hence it does do the job but requires a few attempts and patience

My grandsons headphone jack snapped off in his laptop port and I googled how to get it out , watched all the youtube videos using the inner tubes of the pen refills etc, I wasn,t going to do the super glue thing which was a bit risky so then I googled it again and these little tools came up on Amazon for £8.99 for a pack of 6 with a cleaning brush. So I bought them because it was going to be expensive to take his laptop into a repair service. I followed the instruction leaflet included in the packet and inserted the tube with the open slot facing upwards and the slightly pointed end inserted into the port. You can feel it pushing in and encasing the broken jack so give it a couple of light taps to push it in fully. The get some needlepoint pliers and grip the tube length ways with the points of the pliers touching the edge of the laptop facing the port and nip together firmly and pull outwards, the tubes are quite soft metal but they do the trick if handled gently. I had to do this repeatedly over a dozen times using about 4 tubes so have some patience but I managed to pull out 2 broken pieces of the end of the jack sucessfully so the problem was solved cheaply,and efficiently.

Push the tool in by hand and then give it a gentle tap to drive it in as far as it will go. I used a glasses case. Pull it out and the broken jack comes straight out.

It worked first time for me. I really didn't think it would.

Während unseres letzten Urlaubs ist mir ein kleines, aber ärgerliches Missgeschick passiert: Wir wollten im Flugzeug unserem Sohn über das Tablet einen Film anmachen, damit er entspannt schauen kann, ohne andere Mitreisende zu stören. Ich habe schnell seine Kopfhörer angeschlossen – oder besser gesagt, versucht, sie anzuschließen. Beim Einstecken ist der 3,5mm-Klinkenstecker abgebrochen und steckte tief in der Buchse fest. Die Folge: Keine Soundausgabe mehr, das Tablet erkannte nur noch den Kopfhörer – ausgerechnet mitten auf einem langen Flug. Zurück zu Hause habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Lösung gemacht, um nicht gleich teure Reparaturkosten zahlen zu müssen. Dabei bin ich auf dieses Extraktionswerkzeug gestoßen – und es hat meine Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Die Handhabung erfordert zwar ein gewisses Maß an Vorsicht und etwas Fingerspitzengefühl, aber wenn man keine zwei linken Hände hat, ist es absolut machbar. Wichtig ist, das kleine Werkzeug mit leichten, kontrollierten Klopfbewegungen in die Buchse zu treiben, sodass es über das Bruchstück des Steckers „springt“ und sich festhakt. Danach kann man das Ganze vorsichtig herausziehen – und siehe da: Der abgebrochene Teil kam sauber mit heraus. Besonders positiv finde ich, dass das Werkzeug sehr präzise gearbeitet ist und auch in engen Buchsen gut funktioniert. Es erfordert zwar ein wenig Geduld, aber mit Ruhe und der richtigen Technik kann man sich so eine teure Reparatur oder gar den Austausch des gesamten Geräts sparen. Mein Fazit: Wer in einer ähnlichen Situation steckt, sollte dieses Werkzeug unbedingt in Betracht ziehen – aber nur, wenn man sich das handwerklich auch zutraut. Eine falsche Anwendung könnte die Buchse beschädigen. Für alle mit etwas Geschick in den Fingern ist es aber ein echter Lebensretter für ein ansonsten sehr ärgerliches Problem.

Used one to save my mom's iPad. The tools don't feel too durable. However, each extractor is good for a removal or so. Even one successful removal is worth the cost of the order though. They're pretty easy to use, but I'd advise using pliers or needle nose for better functionality and use. Definitely worth it.
