QWORK® 120-277V Photocell Sensor, Photoelectric Switch Dusk till Dawn Sensor Switch with External Probe Waterproof IP54

My old sensor expired after about 10 years and the above was the most cost effective replacement. However, The wire colours turned out to be different, black, white and red. A little browsing showed these to be American . The white being neutral. Red being our common or feed to the unit being controlled. Black being live from mains. Once this was established it was wired up and ready to go in 2 mins. The unit itself is sturdy, and , unlike my old set up, has a clear screw on lens cap which extends beyond the case, which allows for a more accurate reading of light level. My old unit would sometimes come on early on a cloudy day, as the sensor was flush with the case and therefore in shadow. All in all a nice bit of kit.

Useless! Installed ok, but buzzed when in the off position in daylight. At dusk the light strobed on and off every 5 seconds for two hours till it was dark, then lights remained on all night (as intended) but then remained on in the daylight! Dont waste your money or time fitting it...and then having to remove it and return it!

Works perfectly and turns the light on just as it starts to get dark used for months now and very pleased with it.

For outside wall lights easy to fit as replacement. Worked fine for first week but now lights permanently on.

Good job the wiring is on the side of the unit because it's definitely not UK wiring spec, but it went in easy and quick, that's what she said ;)
