Fluval Bug Bites Tropical Fish Food, 1.59 oz.

Buy this food! Your fish will thank you. Aquarium hobbiest for decades. Not going to say just how many decades because that's just depressing! I am always on the lookout for high quality foods for my fishes. I have had ponds over the years and realized how many insects my fish would eat and often wondered why fish foods didn't contain insects. High in fiber, easily digested. I stumbled on Fluval Bug Bites the other day and the first two ingredients were Insect larvae and salmon. I knew I had to try it. Ordered on a Friday, received it on Sunday. Love Prime shipping! I opened the package and couldn't get the plastic off fast enough to test out this new food. I quickly opened the twist off lid and the freshness seal came off into my hand. I hate when that happens. How much does that seal really preserve freshness if it doesn't stay on? I bought the med-large size granuals. I put the food in and it sinks immediately, my bottom feeders went nuts! No really, I mean nuts over this food. I have a school of 6 clown loaches and they ate enough that the bellies were bulging (I'd say, they ate too much) but they wanted more. Historically, my clown loaches were very picky and I could only get them to eat two brands of food inconsistently. My bristlenose pleco (who never comes put with the lights on) had to come out and get his share. My angelfish don't like eating off the bottom but even the three of them couldn't resist and began eating Fluval Bug Bites off the bottom. I am so pleased that something lived up to the hype.

This is a review for Fluval Bug Bites. I have a community tank with tetra, guppy, betta and neocardia shrimp. This food is loved by everyone especially the shrimp. I give them a buffet of options and Fluval Bug Bites is their #1.

My Cichlid fish, my Siamese fighting fish and my snails, and my weather loaches all of this treat. I wish it came in a bigger container.

Nice pellets, not shaken up into dust. Fish love them. They sink pretty quick There are great for small cory cats and loaches. For larger plecos and loaches, too small. These are about 1mm to 2mm in diameter. Good price, good product, so these will be used along with larger pellets in my 100gallon.

Pleco loves the product but I was hoping the product was a bit large. It's the size of sand.

I was stressing out because my new betta wouldn't eat. I tried pellets, flakes, freeze dried blood worms. He just spit it all out like a little gremlin "pa-tooey". As soon as I put this in, he eagerly darted to catch the falling pellets. I got the medium-large and it's still very small, so that size is good for a betta. It does sink quickly, so feed very little at a time. I ordered the bug bite flakes, too. Hopefully he likes that just as much. On another note, please note that betta fish need at least a 5 gallon tank with a water filter and heater. They are tropical fish and need the temperature to be between 78-80 degrees to be healthy and happy. I have an 8 gallon biorb that seems to be perfect for one betta.

My fish go crazy for this food. I will continue to keep it in the rotation. I like to mix their food selections up. So I assume the taste is good the frenzy that it causes.

As usual... very high quality food from fluval... doesn't disappoint one bit. fish attack the food as soon as it is introduced in the tank.

Good product

I supplement 3 fish tanks with this product! All our bigger fish love these granules! That includes common Goldfish, Shubunkins and Silver Dollars. So yes, both cold water and tropical fish. The granules gently sink, but the fish typically swoop on them before they reach the bottom.
