Purple Rain

This is a faithful reproduction of the original 1984 picture disc. That version was pressed in Mexico, and very few of them are still around, so it's high time they reissued that. I haven't tried to play it, so I can't speak to the sound quality or the skips others have mentioned. But then I never play these anyway; I just collect them as display pieces. And in that respect, this is a gorgeous disc. The photo of Prince on his signature bike is just stunning (pressed on both sides). The sleeve is also screen printed on the back, as was the original, so the disc is pretty amazing visually. And considering that the original disc would set you back around $200 (if you could find one for sale), this is a real bargain.

Edit! The skipping was not the record but the stylus setup. It needed weight distribution adjustment. Plays fine and of course the music is outstanding. Love the translucent sleeve for this one. Disc is beautiful. Love the colors, weight and photo. However, its not playable. Thinking about returning but may just keep and put in shadow box since its not really usable. I'll order the regular purple rain album.

Beautiful picture disc, for a great price! In spite of the many reviews that claimed the picture disc skipped, I bought a copy (hoping mine didn't skip, but even if it did, it would still be a beautiful picture disc to put on display). Mine arrived this week, and I played both sides on my Technics 1200 DJ turntable, and it played just fine - no skips at all! I don't know if I got a better copy of the disc than other people, or maybe I have a better (or less sensitive) turntable ... but, I repeat, mine didn't skip! :) Attaching a photo of the disc, and the clear plastic sleeve with the song list printed on it...

This record is exceptional. Great dynamics, mastering, and sound quality. The vinyl has relatively low noise compared to my other picture discs. However, my copy arrived unacceptably warped. I'm sending it back for a replacement.

The sound coming from this picture disc is excellent and it doesn't skip. This is a limited edition pressing so maybe I got lucky and I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews. I play mine on an Audio Technica LP120USB/BK hooked up to a Sony LBT- ZX66i stereo system and it sounds fantastic. I compared it to the CD and the only difference is the CD has more bass. However, the bass from the picture disc is amazing, maybe it likes my equipment. Things I don't like are - no inner sleeve, no lyrics sheet and it was poorly packaged. The seller literally shoved it into a padded envelope and dropped it in the mail. When I pulled it out of the envelope two of the corners were bent over and creased. I have since inserted a printed sheet of paper to straighten out the kinks. The record was also very dusty but after I cleaned it up it played just fine.

This vinyl had no issues some of my favorite tracks from prince. Vinyl played no issues at all I’m really glad they hold this level of quality with their products.

Love it

I have been a Prince fan for decades and actually didn't purchase this to play it. I purchased it to display in a glass curio case/china cabinet I'm purchasing to display other things that I love (model cars, figurines, etc.). I was privileged to see Prince at Nassau Coliseum when he was on the Purple Rain tour in 1985, and I actually still have my ticket stub from that concert! :) My actual complaint is that I thought the album was going to come in the album cover. When I saw it on Jimmy Fallon that night, he showed the album cover and I thought this album would come in that cover. I had brought the album back then after I attended the concert, but somehow lost it when I relocated to another state :( If I can get the album cover it would be great because I then I can attach the ticket stub to the album cover and not damage the album. I purchased the digitally remixed CD as well for playing, but the album is going to remain displayed in the case.

picture LP Sounds great on my turntable. I was the lucky few, did not encounter any skip, plyback is fine!

Questo è il mio disco preferito in assoluto e quello al quale ritorno volentieri quando ho bisogno di 1 bella carica di energia. Sapevo sarebbe uscita prima o poi la versione deluxe rimastrizzata, curata da Prince stesso, con inediti del periodo e quant'altro. Non avevo idea però che sarebbero usciti anche tutti i 12 pollici con le versioni estese e in edizione originale, il vinile anch'esso rimasterizzato e, soprattutto, il Picture Disc, riproposto nella sua versione originale in busta trasparente con i titoli stampati sulla busta stessa. Gran parte di questi vinili li avevo nel lontano 1984. Diedi via molte cose con l'avvento del cd. Finalmente posso riavere tutta la collezione in vinile, compreso il tanto desiderato picture disc, non rimasterizzato apparentemente si dice, ma non importa, l'oggetto in se per me é e rimane da collezione. PS: Nelle recensioni del sito americano viene scritto che il vinile picture salta e la stampa é di pessima qualitá. Non é vero. La stampa é di buona qualità ed il mio vinile, ascoltato e riascoltato per verificare quel che veniva scritto, non salta ed il suono ne esce pulito e perfetto.

Vinil realmente incrível com uma seleção de músicas inesquecíveis, faltando na minha opinião, a inclusão da música Kiss. A foto no disco ficou simplesmente sensacional. Parabéns pela criação.
