Keeps unpairing with my Shield any solution?

I had that problem on my Nvidia Shield Pro using the Bluetooth. Not sure it was unpairing so much as it was that it would not wake up the Shield when the Shield was in sleep mode. So, I started using the USB plug-in and unpaired the Bluetooth.

How do I program the programable keys?

There's a video on YouTube that shows you that, that's how I found out how to do it. Just search for the model number and you'll find it.
