Can the key itself be replaced in the fob?

Yes, but it is a little complex to replace the key

I purchase the key last year and am just getting around to having it cut. Can someone tell me how I go about having it programmed?

I went to a car key cutter. The establishment cut and programmed new fob. Or try You-tube

Can I use this fob to unlock only and just use my old dead fob key to crank, or do I have to cut the new key for car to start ?
