Floss with weak hands
These are great to enable me to floss when my weak hands hinder me to floss by holding the ends of the string. They are easy to grasp and control. I use about a 12-inch length of floss to secure around the peg and stem effectively. After each use, I rinse the floss thoroughly, allowing me to reuse it multiple times. Additionally, I can utilize the same length by unraveling a portion of the floss, wrapping the previously used section, and applying the unused segment for subsequent flossing.

BEWARE .... Made from JUNK plastic . . . .
I've purchased good quality ones of these from reputable manufacturer, but I tried these to see how they would work. On third wind of the floss the 'arm' broke, and not with much force either. It's obviously low quality plastic with near zero flexibility, unlike the 'quality' floss holders I've used in the past. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Reaches back teeth easily
I would like the handle to be a little longer, but overall I feel satisfied with my purchase. I used one of these as a child and have wanted a new one for years but never got around to checking on Amazon. Sometimes I would see these at CVS or another drug store, but usually sold out. For the minimal cost, these are great. To get the floss to stay put, wrap three times (around the button) to begin and three at the end.

These are a great idea but…
These came smelling like some sort of cleaning product. For anyone with MCS/EI/allergies this is a big problem. I can not tell you if it was the seller’s or the manufacturer’s fault. Could have been stored near a scented product, they could have cleaned the packaging, I don’t know. After 3 months + I could finally try one without gagging. They are so-so.The handle is quite small. Anyone who needs this type of device due to hand pain/weakness such as from arthritis would be better off with a bigger handle in every way: longer, wider, thicker. I have had others where it was possible to assist by biting down to push it in. The size and shape of the Y make that ineffective with this model. It often bottoms out before the floss fully engages. Although the corners aren’t very sharp my mouth still hurts from this happening when I last used it a few hours ago. I can see three factors contributing to this: stretchiness of the floss, floss slipping off the retention button, the arms of the Y being too flexible. The first item is not on them and I am looking for other floss, however it will still be subject to winding on and slipping off the same button, and going slack from the bending of the same floppy arms. Possibly if you are able to pull the floss very taught and take the slack out of the arms and then wrap it super tightly around the anchor button it would work better, but if you can grip the floss that well I don’t know why you need this device.Lastly, if you can get the floss in, it often comes off the rails when trying to pull it back out. This is doubtless in part a function of the same factors that cause the floss to go slack and the device to bottom out on the way in, however I do not think it would be possible to get it so tight it could not pop out of the little notches, they are just too shallow. This might not be an issue for someone with very widely spaced teeth, but, as with the hand strength, if you have that why would you need this product? You would be better off with an interdental brush. All in all they work better than a loose piece of floss (unusable for me) but if a less slippery more rigid brand of floss doesn’t make a huge improvement I will be looking for a different brand now rather than when these break. Not buying again.

Good but you need to be careful
I really like these and although I was afraid that it would slip and let the floss loosen, that's not the case. These things grip the floss with only one or two loops around the post. The only thing about them is that you need to be careful that you don't wind the floss too tight or you'll stress the arms and they'll eventually break. Once I realized that was happening, I was more careful and that's not a problem anymore.

Flossing Without Hurting Your Fingers
My headline is exactly why I bought this product. With fine dental floss, getting enough tension to get the floss between some teeth, and enough to get the floss into the gum line is sometimes a challenge, one that sometimes felt like I was going to just cut off the ends of my fingers. This floss holder really helps with that. Wrap the floss around the round bit a few times, then thread it across the “Y” part, and then (here’s the trick!) wrap the floss around the round bit in the OTHER direction. This helps secure the floss and maintains tension. I also wind the end of the floss around the handle a couple of times to make sure it doesn’t slip.Neither the product page nor the actual product give a sense of the physical size of the holder. Length is 120mm, or about 4.9 inches. The handle is 15mm wide (0.7”) and the “Y” is 32mm (1.3”) wide. The floss spans 28mm (1.1”) with an open width of 22mm (0.9”). I mention this because the extra 2mm on either side of the open width of the floss, 4mm on each side of the working part of the device, can make reaching some places like rearmost molars difficult or irritating. I have this problem with my lower molars sometimes, and it’s unpleasant. One thing I’d suggest the maker do is provide written and illustrated instructions, and give the width of the “Y” on the product page. Lacking these is not a deal breaker, but having to figure out details like this can be frustrating. I’d also really like to know what the manufacturer thinks is the best way to secure the floss so it doesn’t sag or come off. My “trick” above may work for me, but is it the best way? I dunno…
