How's this hold up with water? Like a bracelet wrap that you leave on in the shower?

I have taken a shower with the necklace I made from it for over a year and the color still holds up and no weakness in the leather.

Any issues with make straps for grill tools? All my stock leather loops have dry rotten and I need a way to "hang" the tool from the grill hook.

I used mine to make loops for my garden tools and it worked great.

Is this leather string soft and pliable, or is it rough and stiff?

This is excellent leather cord IMHO. Very pliable....the real deal. This is the only REAL leather cord I have been able to find. Nice size too. BTW, it arrived in about 7 days instead of the estimated 30+ days shipping time.

Can I use this on a regular sewing machine for tote bag handles?

I think you probably could use a thicker version of it for the tote bag handles, you would just have to choose the width and thickness. I could not really say about using a sewing machine. I can only add that it is supple , at least for how I used the size to made some hat chin straps. Although I do believe you could .
