I picked up this little red LED flashlight for camping and astronomy—and for such a compact tool, it punches way above its weight. The red light preserves night vision, so when I’m tuning my telescope or walking to the back of the campsite, I stay under the celestial glow without ruining my dark-adapted eyes. It’s rugged and solid—dropped it a few times into dirt and gravel, and it’s still going strong. With a beam that reaches around 150 yd/200 lumens, it’s great for illuminating charts, gear, or even signaling in the wilderness. Used it at multiple star parties: no glare, no complaints—just red glow guiding you under the Milky Way. Super strong in a tiny package that’s earned regular space in my gear pouch. It's a well built light that has very good brightness. I dimm option would've been nice but it's still a good purchase.

I bought this for use in my night flight training, and will likely get a different one if I continue to do night flights. It worked well enough during my training, though it was easy to fumble around with it since it only had a tiny clip and nowhere I could really put it when I wasn't using it. It was also way too bright for me inside the airplane, and did impact my night vision at least once or twice from the shock of its initial light. It certainty wasn't as disruptive as a normal flashlight would have been, though. If it wasn't so uncomfortable for my (admittedly rather sensitive) eyes, then I would just buy a wrist strap for it and keep using it for reading my charts, but I think I might have to put this one up on the shelf. It was a pretty good price for what it was, though.

Very bright red light in a small package at a great price. Works well when I am out with my telescope at night. If you find it too bright you can unscrew the front cover and put a custom cut semi transparent sheet in front of the led.

Nice little light and the red doesn't mess up your night vision.

I bought this red flashlight a few years ago and was initially very pleased. I use it only few time per year. When a problem arose (flickering and inconsistent performance possibly due to a contact button issue), I contacted customer support. Customer support responses were prompt, offering some suggestions to assess/fix the problem. They eventually directed me to repurchase the flashlight and they refunded the cost...essentially providing a free replacement even though the original purchase was several years prior. I'm grateful for companies with outstanding support for their products...kudos to Wayllshine!

Something has changed internally, and, even after stretching the spring at the bottom, the battery has too much play to make consistent contact top and bottom. I was able to fix the problem by putting a small metal nut at the end of the spring. Still bizarre - it's never been dropped, and quite rarely used, so there's no reason for the spacing of the two battery contacts to change.

Bought these for camping overnight at a dark skies park. More than threw enough light for me to see everything I needed. I’ve taken them on a few trips so far after and it’s been reliable, at the very least nothing has ever failed on me. Can’t speak to the limit of the charge or expected battery life, but I can tell you I’ve never had one die on me, and it’s nice that their batteries that are replaceable and not built-in USB-C charged or anything. Different modes and sliding focus work advertised. Compact design meant it easily into a pocket or multiple into my backpack. I probably should’ve thought more about why I would buy four of them, but they’re cheap enough. I gave a few to friends.
