CISM Certified Information Security Manager Study Guide (Sybex Study Guide)

The CISM Study Guide by Mike Chapple maintains the same high standard and to-the-point explanation of all the topics covered under the CISM Exam domains, that I have come to expect from the author. I used Mike’s books for both CISSP and CCSP exams and they helped me tremendously to clear these exams. This Sybex publication has clear print quality and a nice book layout. I have not yet tried the review questions or attempted the two practice exams, but I know they’ll be a great help as I prepare for the actual exam in a few weeks. Overall, I highly recommend this CISM Study Guide to anyone aiming to pass the CISM Certification Exam. Five stars, without a doubt!

I could not have passed the exam without this guide!! It’s very thorough and covers all aspects of the exam. The online practice tests were very helpful as were the chapter reviews and flash cards.

This book was all I used to prep for the CISM exam. I read each chapter, took notes, took all of chapter quizzes, and then did a skim of all of my notes and highlights over the course of four weeks. Finished the exam in 1 hour and 12 minutes and scored a 715. For those of you wondering, the CISM is absolutely, most definitely, positively WAY easier than the CISSP--by a huge margin.

Passed the test 1st time after studying only this book

I have not taken yet the exam and I am just doing my first round of studies, but I completed my studies using this book and it seems to me that the presentation, content, organization and appropiateness of the material is right on target and very good. Thanks for providing this tool.

What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said. The book is full of knowledge and should be used as a source in studying for the CISM exam. It's great to have multiple views regarding this high level certification. This book covers a little more without seeming dry. The practice tests at the end of the chapter, the two full exams, and the online flashcards are excellent in helping anyone prepare. NOTE-- This should not be used as the only source. This should be added as an additional source for those seeking this high in demand certification.

The book is easy to read, and ropes in all the topics necessary for CISM into a neat package. So it helps to focus on matter required for CISM. As far as the exam goes I believe there is more required, I cannot put my finger on it, but I guess work experience is one of things.

I recently just passed my CISM. This is a good source. Its short and to the point, which I like. I would estimate about 80 percent of the information you need to pass is in this book. That said simply knowing the information isn't enough. You have to be able to answer the questions the ISACA way which this book lacks on. Get the Q&A guides and or Database access from ISACA and spend just as much if not more time reviewing practice question.

I am both CISSP and CISM certified and for both as a part of my preparation I used the books of Mike Chapple. Both are great, not only very well written but structured in a perfect manner. Many people already aske me how did you pass both CISSP and CISM exams in one year: the answer is approach, patience and structure. The last is to thank Mike Chapple for. If I were you preparing for each of those exams: 1: order a book (paper is better for the eyes), 2. sign up to the learn group on certmike.org - great e-mails every week with a learning plan 3. watch linkedin learning courses (also by Mr. Chapple) and read the book, make notes, repeat 4. practice practice practice with the practice exams - sybex has a very handy mobile app if you buy the book in the written in the beginning how to use it. 5. register for the exam and pass. Last but not least, I will use those books for the future reference as well - great stuff! thanks a lot Mr. Chapple - now I am waiting for more of your books to come.
