Vortex Optics Diamondback HD 2000 Laser Rangefinder

This thing is the cat's a$$. Price was pretty good, and quality is excellent. It is easy to read the info through the viewpiece, and the magnification makes it a LOT easier to get on and hold on objects even out to long distances. I've used it out to 1800 on a known distance and it agreed, and it does return value out to 2000. I don't know if it is truly drop-proof, but it has been dropped (a lot) and I haven't had any issues. If you go on a hunt of a lifetime, you REALLY need your gear to be reliable and this was. Durable, easy and quick, lightweight, and it is still on the original battery.

I was consistently able to confirm target hits out to 100 yards, with sufficient resolution to distinguish impacts without difficulty. Durability was also put to an unintended test. I accidentally dropped the binoculars twice during use, yet they showed no functional or optical issues afterward. The housing and armour held up very well, reinforcing confidence in their build quality for field or range use. Overall, the Diamondback HD delivers clear, reliable performance in a tough package, making it a practical and dependable option for shooters and outdoor users who want quality optics without stepping into premium price territory.

Very fast and accurate. Also, I appreciate the illuminated reticle, which makes low light range finding easy. I also like the belt pouch/carry case included with it. Worth every penny.

As with all vortex products this one is no different. Easy to use and very durable. The menu is easily accessible and adjustments are quick. Size seems perfect and it comes in its own little pouch with a retention bungee that you can clip on whatever. I haven’t had any battery issues but I always bring extras since you never know. But I haven’t had any issues with battery life as of yet. Very pleased.

Just got it 3 days ago. Upon inspection. I notice there's a lot of messy splatter of something on the plastic bezzel. I try to see if it'll come off with rubbing alcohol, but nope! It's on there permanently. So I'm gonna give this a 4 star for a poor over sight of quality.

Works in low light and almost no light conditions. Glass is crystal clear. Accuracy is good, sub 1yd under 100yds up to 3-5yds at 2000yds. A standard CR2 battery will last for around 2000 uses at level 3 brightness and is easy to swap out. Measurement details are wrong, true measurements are at the bottom. I needed to change out the included case for something MOLLE/PALS compatible, a 5.11 Flex Cuff Pouch is the perfect size. Last thing IP54 is not waterproof, you can take measurements in the rain but probably not the best idea to try ranging fish but with the Vortex warranty you can try. Measurements are: 3.13"L x 1.55"W x 4.06"H (Without Clip) 3.13"L x 1.64"W x 4.06"H (With Clip) Edit: Preforms beyond specs. I've gotten readings up to 2381yds in the middle of the night on a non reflective hillside.

There's a million reviews on this laser rangefinder. Not going to add too much, only to say that this handy range finder is featherlight, battery lasts forever. Goes with me everywhere. Is intuitive to use. And I myself will likely never need to range out beyond 2000 yards so this is the perfect unit for me and happy for that because the HD 2000 was still affordable. Much beyond the feature set offered by this unit and things start getting expensive. Only complaint I have is I wish it got a little brighter. Definite washout of the reticle and illuminated readouts in the bright sunlight of the western US.

Vortex is an exceptional company with quality products, industry-leading "lifetime" warranties, and supportive YouTube videos and people who actually respond to queries! The Diamondback HD2000 Laser RangeFinder works as described and the quality is readily apparent once in your hand! If it doesn't, then there's the no-question-asked warranty, but I suspect I won't be needing it!
