Buy Willow Projects: Round Work for the Keen Basket Maker: 20 projects for enthusiasts, with all the techniques you’ll probably ever need for stake and strand work. Book 3 in the Willow Project Series. by Thorner, Wendy (ISBN: 9798805387327) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Exceptionally easy to follow - I have been on a course to make a round basket in the past and thought I would have a go myself. This series of books is excellent, with a clear photographic narrative on how to achieve a basket that doesn't look like it's been knitted by kittens. The author conveniently puts all the basic weaves, whaling and borders at the back of the book under colour coded pages for ease of reference (and to break down the skills into easily digestible chunks). Paper stock could be improved but that is a minor quibble as the books are well priced. A definite contender for the book that will actually get you weaving rather than reading about it. Review: Fantastic - Some great projects, great photos and clear instructions

Brilliant willow weaving series
Have bought the whole series now. Amazing books, so easy to follow and SO reasonably priced, Author is great at explaining, have already recommended her books to beginners but also great for experienced weavers. Thanks

Beautiful photos throughout
The combination of photos and written guides as well as a range of projects makes this the best book I have found for basketry!

Lots of lovely designs to follow
A little confusing to follow as it flicks to the back for repetitive instructions but once you get used to what your doing it’s ok.

Great
I already had the first book in this series but book 3 gives lots more variations to move onto. Easy to follow instructions. Would suggest both books are best used after you have attended a willow basket making course as it has all the techniques you need to try it at home.

Basketry for the self taught
These are amazing books - a good idea would be to use them alongside maybe a weekend course or two - but really - the 4 books have got a plethora of information & I love the use of different coloured willow to unlock the mystery of the various weaves …..

I have bought all three of Wendy's basketry books. Between the three of them, a relatively inexperienced basket-making enthusiast can pretty much pick up most things about making. Definitely, if one wished to learn basketry for selling purposes, everything needed is in these books. As I look through the books I feel like all the basketry secrets one would learn in an apprenticeship or from an experienced maker, are being revealed. I have spent so many hours looking at pictures of baskets and trying to work out how the maker must have done this or that. Wendy's books have given me so many 'aha' moments. The instructions are easy to follow and the pictures are clear. I am so grateful to Wendy for making these books, as here in New Zealand there is no formal basket training available and books like this are so valuable and a treasure to own. I can't wait for the Square Work book to come out!
