Amazing performance from a tiny, rugged package
When I saw the announcement from Muzen about this little bluetooth speaker I was very excited. I was instantly drawn to the design. As a designer/engineer/fabricator, I knew that this was something I had to own. I am a returning Muzen customer because I already own one of their OTR metal speakers. From my experience with the OTR, I expected the Wild Mini to be a high quality product, and it did not disappoint. I have been using the speaker frequently for over a month now. The design still delights me every time I look at it. It looks like a piece of military surplus equipment. It would look equally at home in a vintage jeep or the cockpit of a jet. Muzen deliberately featured exposed screws and hardware in a thoughtful manner that accentuates the rugged look. The large metal volume knob has a knurled texture and a satisfying click as you rotate it. This knob is secured on the top of the speaker with a small “bracket” and some more exposed screws. On my gray colored version, all these visible screws have a shiny gunmetal sort of finish that contrasts the matte gray color of the speaker. Adjacent to the volume knob is a power indicator light that can also act as a flashlight. Under normal use, though, the light pulses softly with a warm glow. The charging port is under a hinged cover that has a rubber seal to keep dust and moisture out. The other controls are a combined skip-track/pause button and the main power switch, which is a spring-loaded toggle that can also be pressed to activate the flashlight. When the Wild Mini is establishing a connection with your device it emits a beeping “signal” sort of sound that evokes the retro-military vibe in a whimsical way. Based on my experience with the OTR, I expected the speaker to be made from quality materials. Indeed Muzen demonstrates that using quality materials matters. The Wild Mini is almost entirely metal, and, as a result, has a heft and quality feel. All of these design choices make you feel connected to the Wild Mini in the same way that you would feel connected to a favorite tool from your toolbox. This brings me to the final aspect of this speaker: the performance. Once again, Muzen has shown that larger than life sound can come in a small package. The sound quality is quite surprising given the diminutive size. I should also point out that the packaging design is among the best you will find. My gray version came in a utilitarian-looking plastic case that latches closed. This is another demonstration of the thought and care they put into all aspects of their product. Overall, I am very pleased with the Wild Mini. I really appreciate having a small, rugged speaker that is just as enjoyable to admire as it is to play music on.

The Most Amazing Bluetooth Speaker Available
I have purchased no fewer than a dozen Bluetooth speakers over the past 5 years, and I can honestly say that this Muzen Wild Mini is hands-down the best of them all. This little speaker is made of solid metal that has great structural integrity and heft. In other words, it feels substantial when you hold it. Everything about this speaker screams quality; the buttons, the knob, and the case. The little rubber feet are a nice touch. We don't buy Bluetooth speakers for their looks, though, do we? No, we purchase them primarily for their sound quality, and that's where this amazing little Bluetooth speaker really shines. For it's size, it has incredible volume and sound quality. Does it have heavy bass? Bigger speakers may have more, but none in this size/class do. The battery life is very good. I used the Wild Mini on a few camping trips, and it lasted many, many hours through the night. It charges fast and easily and comes with a USB cable. There is a flashlight on the Wild Mini which is nice, and while I thought it was a gimick, I actually have used it a few times in the night at the campsite. When playing music, the light pulsates which is a neat feature. The knob is milled and very nice. The clicks are satisfying, and it makes it very easy to change volume with one hand. There is a button on the front that also makes it easy to select the next song, or go back to the beginning of the song you're listening to. The lanyard loop is a nice touch, and my first Wild Mini (because I have two of them!) has one. I bought a total of three of these; one as a Christmas gift for my son, and the others for me. I initially purchased the gray colored one, but when the green Wild Mini was released, I had to have it to match my 4Runner. Since buying the Wild Minis, I have stopped using all other Bluetooth speakers as they don't sound as good, aren't as solid, and don't last as long. What I gave up in pure bass is eclipsed by all the other positives of this amazing Bluetooth speaker. Do I recommend it? Yes. Is it worth the price? Absolutely. You definitely get what you pay for, and you will not be let down.

Sounds great, looks great, battery life just ok
Update: 18 months of use and the battery life has degraded. It's a small battery to start with and there's no charge level indicator. After reading all the hype I bought one. The sound is good for a speaker this size, the whole thing fits easily in the palm of a hand. It's better than the speaker in my Pixel phone, louder too. The controls are nice, I wish they were all metal like the volume control - which is excellent - very satisfying. The instructions are tiny, but you can figure it out easily. Charges with microUSB (thankfully) - as untrendy as it might be to say that - I have dozens of wires for microUSB all over the house. And did I mention the very satisfying volume control. Is it worth around $100 - for sure, it's cute and sounds great. I would prefer it come in a less wasteful box. Update 6 months later: still love it. Use it every day. I'm the most cynical buyer so I was skeptical that it would sound great but it does. Well made, great design (I have the green but will also get the grey) proper metal construction and all the functions you could ask for and nothing else. If anyone is interested the Morse code when it starts is XOV. Suggestions to Muzen: - add a spring clip to the back - knurl the rocker switch - add battery level indicator - put a bigger battery (currently 800mah) - make an upgraded unit that if I buy two they will couple and provide stereo

Good considering its size
It’s a cute little device, sound isn’t bad considering the size - just not much bass. The FM radio works good. You can use the batteries to charge other things.

Rugged, cool looking, sounds amazing for its size!
Just like a lot of other reviewers, I am seriously impressed by this little (it really little!) Bluetooth speaker. Pros: It’s built tough! I accidentally flung it off of a 4 foot tall surface on to a tile floor and it didn’t harm it. The sound quality is amazing. I have worked semi-professionally as a sound engineer and own 4 other Bluetooth speakers. No, this speaker doesn’t sound as good as my others, but it’s 1/4 the size of the smallest of ny other speakers. So when I say it sounds amazing I’m saying it sounds amazing for it’s size. Like most everyone else I love the feel of the volume knob. All my other speakers have buttons that are difficult to see and operate. Out I all my speakers the Muzen operates the easiest. It has a built in flash light with 3 settings. In my opinion any rechargeable portable gadget should have a built in light of some kind. It was super easy to pair and it has a toggle knob to skip tracks or go back, and if you press the knob it pauses the music. While the unit is on the flashlight slowly glows on and off letting you know that even if there isn’t sound coming from it, it is in. The charging port glows red while it’s charging, and green when fully charged. When the unit is turned on it makes 2 sets of noises both of which sound like Morse Code beeps. The first set is to let you know it’s on, the second set of beeps let’s you know that it has paired to your device. The beeps are very “military” sounding circa world war 1 and 2 which matches the military aesthetic of the speaker. More: I use my Muzen in the shower dancing from my shampoo caddy, or on the bathroom sink. The sound fills up my bathroom. When working all around the inside or outside of my house I hang the speaker from my belt loop. That way I have my music with me without having to blast music from my karger bt sorsjets or my stereo. It fits in any pocket. It looks really cool. I intend to take thus dieakwt camping, hiking, biking, and use it ad my job-site speaker (I’m a tradesperson)

Worth the cost!!
Fantastic little speaker! It’s heavy and durable, and has excellent sound quality for such a little thing. They’re worth the cost, and I’m going to get them for my family as gifts this year

Nice looking, poor quality
I purchased this product for family trips, and used it about five times over the course of nine months. When it worked, I thought the sound quality was pretty good, and the size is convenient. It definitely looks pretty cool. On my most recent trip, it stopped working as we were listening to it. After this, the speaker wouldn’t turn on even though it was fully charged. I contacted the company, who asked me to send them a video and proof of my purchase. After doing so, they asked me to ship the item back to them at my expense. I’m not sure it is worth my time to go through the process given my experience. Overall, when the speaker was working, it sounded pretty good, but I would highly recommend a much better sounding JBL Bluetooth speaker instead. Those things are durable and better quality all the way around.

Old ones have micro usb, new ones have USBC; battery can drain without it being powered
So after a year of having this speaker I’m writing the review, hoping maybe I can help future purchasers I love the speakers construction, metal, nice weight, great bass, it’s very nice to take with you. Except, there’s no battery indicator on Bluetooth And the old models have a Micro USB, I’ve seen videos of newer models with USBC but these pages are not descriptive enough of what one you are getting. So I can’t plan to buy a new one because I don’t know what one I will be getting. The protector to the charge port is made of plastic, this will be the first thing that will want to break off I don’t know if they made a new lid for this with the new USBC port So, you cannot open the back of this device easily. I’m about to learn how because I need to replace the battery And this was a problem in the very beginning That I would have the speaker charged, go out. And when I sat down and put on the speaker I probably get 3 hours of play time at 75% volume There’s not an easy way to gage this because there’s no percentage on your phone. But I have charged it all night; the light turns red to green Refrained from turning it on And then in 1 and a half days about it will be dead and need to be recharged I don’t know if this is a fault with the battery, or if this is something common fault in their design But that’s been the most annoying part. I have videogame systems that last longer with battery and the system is on in sleep mode. This ones drained all the way off It’s far too late for me to try and get a replacement device. But for the size, it’s the only one on the market like this. Either I’m going to pull it apart and attempt to fix it, or I’ll try and buy a new model if I can get a gurantee that it is one with these kinks sorted out Other than all that, it’s a nice solid speaker that will fill the room or wherever yer sitting down in a suprising package And it looks like nothing else out their either
