I really love that this is a larger umbrella that still folds. It's size does an awesome job at keeping the rain off of me and my backpack. I also love that it comes with an umbrella sleeve, which makes tucking the umbrella in a sidepocket of my backpack very convenient, instead of having to hold it in my hand and worry about getting myself or my items wet when I'm finished using the umbrella. It's got a nice strong wooden handle and the open/close button allows the umbrella to easily open and close. I got the yellow umbrella, and really love how bright and colorful it is, despite the gloomy weather. Lifts my spirits a bit. It's the little things... I've used the umbrella in torrential rains and it's protected me well. No complaints with quality or performance. My one fault is that I initially didn't always remember to use up/down button and tried to close the umbrella by manually pulling down the cover while the umbrella was open, (like I'm used to with my older umbrellas). It caused some of the spokes of the umbrella to bend, making it harder to open and close the umbrella. However, these umbrellas come with EXCELLENT warranty and customer service. I was able to send an email directly to the company and was sent a new umbrella immediately. I'm one very satisfied customer!

I've had this umbrella in my bookbag for the longest. I loved the handle because it looked very quality. However, the real test came on a rainy day. The umbrella worked fine until it was time to put it away in order to get on the bus. It just wouldn't close. I pressed the close button over and over again, but nothing happened. So in order for me to get in the bus, I decided to pull it close. The rod bent like nobody's business. So I had to throw away the thing since people were already laughing at me trying to close an umbrella so I can get on the bus. Got to my stop and had to walk home in the pouring rain without an umbrella. I couldn't get 1 complete use of the umbrella. Very disappointed. Update (08/04/2018) After leaving my review, i was contracted by the company and they explained to me that the umbrella wasn't designed to close manually. They decided to send me another. It was raining heavily when it arrived and i decided to use the replacement umbrella. It worked beautifully. I like the Umbrella because it fits well in my bag and when i use it, it's much bigger than regular pocket sized umbrellas. Yes, the issue i had was a user error and not the product itself. I intend to buy another one shortly.

First, let me say that I love this umbrella. It's sturdy, compact, and has a huge canopy when opened. (I want something that's going to cover me AND my backpack, while commuting!) After buying one 5 years ago, I decided it was getting a bit hard to close, and decided to replace it with the same thing. Well, the difference between the one I bought 5 years ago, and the one I just received today, is an "improvement" made to the strap that holds it closed. The original one I got had a Velcro closure. This one new has a snap button. Now, granted -- one of the main reasons I'm replacing the old one is that over time the Velcro closure doesn't hold as well as it used to. But, my problem with the snap closure is that it's much less forgiving. Even trying it out in dry conditions, it took a major effort to get the umbrella compact enough for the strap to reach around it and allow it to actually snap closed. I just can't imagine doing that with it when it's wet from rain, and I'm in a hurry! (And don't want to get really wet wrestling with a wet umbrella.) Maybe it's that the strap is just too short, and too optimized to close when the umbrella is perfectly folded -- which, when you're on the go, is never. If the strap itself were a little longer, it would be fine. As it is, I'm going to have to buy some additional bungee or velcro strap to carry around to put on it. And that's an inconvenience, considering that the first one of these that I bought worked so perfectly for many years.

I purchase 2 Lejorain 54inch Umbrella, one for each car. I open the box at my office and push the button and the umbrella open and closed and it was OK. I have not use it yet during the rain storm. I push the button on the Second Umbrella and top flew across the room and the spring fell out of the handle and hit the floor. I put the second umbrella in the box and sent it back. The other umbrella when I first open it, it shot across the room in pieces. I like the design and features but it does not work the first time or over time. Update July 21, 2018 The reason I selected the 54 inch umbrella with auto open and close is its easy getting in and out of the car. My wife and I are old, fat and ugly and we now fit under one umbrella. This is a very good umbrella and Lejorain customer service is a great company to do business with. In my first review I purchase 2 umbrellas and one work and the other did not. Lejorain contacted me within days and wanted me to tell them the problem. They told me I would receive another umbrella in a week and I got it two days later. Lejorain really want their customers to be happy and if there is a problem they want to fix it. I recently purchased the 54" Compact Umbrella, and overall, I've been quite pleased with its performance. The auto open/close string snapped. I reached out to the seller about getting a refund or replacement, it took a while but they have issued a refund.

Today I have just received &it's raining. So I get chance to use. It's amazing, very nice big size when closed it's compact., but only thing I find as its con in the strap, very small ,can't wrap around wrist only to Keep in two fingers. I wonder why this small lacuna be not avoided when everything is so perfect! Hope it will be rectified.
