Review Update: I liked the smaller 400 lumen Coleman Classic Rechargeable Lanterns so much that I ordered 2 of the larger 800 lumen Coleman Classic Rechargeable Lanterns. Those are working out fantastic, too, and have the added bonus of being able discharge, so you can use the lantern to charge a cell phone or similar electronic device. Plus the bottom of the lantern unscrews for storage of the USB charging cord. Photo of larger lantern shows light on low. Easy to use with great light visibility. ===== Original Review: I ordered this Coleman Classic Rechargeable Lantern primarily to use to illuminate our laundry room area, so that are elderly dog Sid (he's losing eyesight due to advanced age) can see better in the dim or dark room when he has to go outside to potty. Also wanted the lantern for emergency power outage lighting. This Coleman Rechargeable Lantern has exceeded all of my expectations! - Very high quality of design and materials. The compact, lightweight size makes for versatile use. The lit lantern area is crystal clear and provides outstanding illumination. Easy to toggle between illumination setting with a button on top of the lantern. - Recharging: I really like the recharging station on the side. Makes it easy to get to. The lantern is easy to charge and holds its charge for the durations as advertised. On the low setting I am using, it lasts an incredible 40 hours! - Clear light illumination, I have it set on the low setting and that provides comfortable, easy to see light. The lantern also features medium and high light illumination, and a strobe setting. This dependable rechargeable lantern will last a very long time, making it a terrific value. I highly recommend this product.

A very nice lantern. I bought 2 of them. Great for power failures !! Best part is, they are rechargeable. They are nice and bright. Well worth the money. They are pretty rugged, but don't weigh a lot. Batteries last a long time. A little slow on recharging though. I give them 5 stars and I would buy them again.

This Coleman lantern is absolutely incredible! The 800 lumen brightness completely transforms the darkness—it's bright enough for camping, backyard gatherings, or emergencies. Talk about Classic...this lantern looks nearly like the original Coleman gas lanterns. Of course, this uses a rechargeable internal battery and LED bulb, the latter, unlike the original gas mantles, never needing replacement. Where the original lantern had a fuel filler and pressurizing pump, this has a a charging port for the lantern battery with charge status LEDs and a USB-A port to allow you to charge another device off the lantern battery - very useful. The rotational knob to control the light (Off/On/Low/Medium/High) is in the same location as the gas lantern. Unlike the old gas lanterns, this unit is very light weight. The unit puts out enough light to see what you are doing and illuminate your tent at night. There is a bail at the top, like the old gas lantern, to hang it from, but with this model the bail can be opened to make it easy to attach to the hanging point. With the light set on the brightest setting (800 lumens) the lantern is supposed to last for 5 hours, at medium (300 lumens) for 15 hours and on the lowest setting (100 lumens) for 45 hours. Those are pretty close to what I have experienced with it. All in all, a nice product to use both for camping out and even around the house outside.

I did just get this and tested it and all seems very good. I will take this camping in a few weeks so the ultimate test with be forthcoming but my initial thoughts are that this will be the perfect lantern. First, it has that look of those coleman lanterns we had growing up so very nostalgic. Second, it functions very well and the different brightnesses seems like it will work perfectly in any circumstance. Last, the way they put the charging slot where the gas fill would have been is very thoughtful. Once I get a chance to use this in a camping or emergency situation, I will update this review.

This replaced our 20 year old Coleman rechargeable lantern. It was cheaper to buy a new one vs replacing the bulb in the old one. This version is very lightweight and I love that the charging cord fits in the base of the lantern. Easy to charge. Nice brightness options. I'm a fan of this product right out of the box.

This such a convenient light. I bought it for the threat of bad weather and losing power. I was surprised how bright it can be set. It can also be made for a lower light settings. Easy to charge. It fills a room with light. It holds charge for a long time during usage. I would buy again. Would make a great gift.

I really love this lantern! Love the old fashioned style and its size. The light brightness levels are perfect. I like the storage compartment at the bottom and how long the light lasts on one charge. Additionally, it allows you to charge a phone from the lantern, which is a nice feature if needed. Beats using older lanterns with batteries. Would highly recommend!

Have been using on the low light setting and the illumination is good and extremely durable.

This is an excellent lamp! Lasts a long time on a charge! Charges quickly! When it’s on the highest setting it’s very bright! Good not only for camping but for power outages!

I LOVE THIS LAMP! The 800 is very bright, even the first and second setting gives off plenty of light. Love the cute design. I looked at cheaper models but decided to go with this one. They were 20% off so I bought 2. They will come in handy during power outages which we have quite often. I just ordered 2 more for my adult children while they were still on sale. I would definitely recommend this lantern.

Easy to use lasts a good few hours use for fishing it lights up the area well for general use would like another higher brighter setting would be better if it matched a petrol version in brightness to
