It's good, it's nice, it works.
I ordered this to power my 220 volt German mini-component hi-fi, which requires a constant 220 watts (minimum) or so, and is powered by two outlets. I was interested in the Seyas 500W because it has two international outlets, obviating the need for a power strip, at least for the foreseeable future. The 500 watt rating seemed safe for my application, and given the good reviews (and yes, I thought it was interesting that this item bore a patent) I decided to order it. Well, what do I think? First, the item has updated branding that isn't depicted here. It's similar, but the logo has been refreshed, and it all looks nicer. This is really to say that I was surprised a bit by the presentation of the packaging... which is to say that it's professional and thus completely ordinary. So far, so good! The item itself appears to be well constructed, with metal appearing to be used for all of its faces. The feel and action of all moving parts is good. The power cable is thick and sturdy to the eye. Everything about the item's physical appearance suggests a level of quality one is likely to expect, which is good to the point of being invisible, and that is how it should be I think. The international sockets do fit my German plugs loosely, as others have commented. They stay in fine on their own, but they are loose to the point of what I would consider "breakaway," i.e. they are designed to release the plug freely from the socket in the event of a snag. If you have a cat, and your cat thinks this new object is interesting, your cat brushing against the inserted plugs is enough to loosen them to the point of interrupting the power; very touchy! With my converter placed under my desk, back near the wall, I found that bumping it with a stray outstretched foot is also enough to potentially loosen a plug to the point of power interruption... not conducive to jamming to the tunes, or transferring electricity for that matter! My solution for this is to turn the converter so it is facing away from me. It makes the sockets hard to access (should I need to access them,) but that is the only resolution that I feel doesn't compromise the safe operation of the product. Are all outlets of this nature this loose with German-type plugs? I dunno. Because I don't know, I will give Seyas the benefit of the doubt until I discover otherwise. A lot of people have commented on how coolly the item runs. The item can warm very slightly with prolonged use, which seems normal. While a lot of electronics are designed to run hotter than many people are comfortable with, this is not one of them. You may not even know that it was on at all if you only relied on your perception of temperature to tell you if it were. As far as the actual power, well... a few weeks in and it all seems healthy. My devices are happy, they work!! Mission complete! And, I *would* purchase an additional converter by the same company if the need arose.

Robust power rating and easy to use
This is a significant piece of hardware that has the look and feel of quality. It is easy to use and performs right out of the box as advertised. In my case, I have new high-tech audio and video equipment purchased in Australia, and this easy adaptation makes it work perfectly with our US 110V system. I can't comment yet about durability, but ease of use, quiet, and heat discharge are all looking great so far!

Works
Seems to work fine. The protecting light turns off after a second of turning on the transformer, but I texted it with a small desk fan and it worked fine. I used it with my ceramic hair straightener and I think it was still too much power so I'm still a little unsure. I do wish it had an additional 120v outlet, though, but it is as described so I can't take away a star for that. BUT it does come with a 120v-220v wall adapter which is awesome because they're hard to find where I am. Hope it continues to work like it's supposed to.

Works well, would have liked the plugs to sit a bit tighter/ snug when you plug them in, as you can easily knock it out

Works ok but a design flaw re UK sockets
Works well enough although I never seem to be sure if it will work! The UK plug holes are at the bottom and yo7 can’t plug them in without having the u it on the edge of a counter to be able to get the plug into the socket.

Product delivers as advertised
I bought this 500W transformer to power a food dehydrator that requires a maximum of 500W when running at the highest setting. So far so good. It has no problems powering the equipment for many hours. I think I had it running at 10 hours at one point without any issues. In the reviews of similar products, the manufacturers usually recommend a higher wattage (1.5x - 2x) for the transformer but not for this product. Usage wise, I find that the transformer did not get that hot and there is no need to specify if you need to step up or down voltage.

didn't work
500W but could not be used to inflate a simple bed. Kept going into protected mode. Got a real down stepper from base, 2x the weight of this one and had no issues. This is only good for small loads, don't trust the 500W rating. Don't waste money on Chinese products, you get what you pay for.

Easy to use and it works
Bought it to power a European 220v lamp in Canada. It is on the bigger side and has some heft (about three quarters of the size of a shoe box), so not ideal for travel, but I assume it is the size and weight it is because it has quality parts. However, if you are just going to keep it at home it is great. You plug it in, turn it on, and it just detects what is plugged in and converts the power (has various sockets). That simple. It doesn't make any noise, just works.

Check Your Wattage Requirements
The converter itself is a great device and is a replacement for our 5 year old converter. We moved from Uk to Canada and brought items such as hair dryer and hair straightener etc hence the need for the converter. Unfortunately we hadn’t read/understood the wattage requirements so on first use of the hairdryer we tripped the converter so it doesn’t suit our needs but that was our mistake and no fault of the converter. We prefer this one as the sockets are much more “tight” than our previous converter as the plugs were always a bit loose and we had to hold the plugs in on our old converter. Much better on this one. Also the sockets are the correct way up so the wires hang down as our previous model the sockets were upside down which meant the wires were facing up and that loosens the wires in the plug over time. Something to be aware of when buying.
