This has lasted me 6 years (until a new puppy chewed it). Will be getting the same one to replace it! Immediately helped to correct pulling on the leash.

First of all, how cute is the Donut pattern? I have an almost 90 pound black lab with a lot of energy. He was always pulling on the leash and harness combo we had previously and would drag me down hills, into people's yards, and even into oncoming traffic as he chased after animals. Not fun. Or safe. As the weather got warmer I wanted to spend more time outside with our dog going on walks, but all I could handle was 5 to 10 minutes outside with him as he was so bad on the leash. This gentle leader changed ALL OF THAT. It took maybe 5 minutes to set up the gentle leader on our dog so it fit properly and we went outside to try it out. He does not drag me around anymore! He walks at a nice, reasonable pace and we can now spend so much more time outdoors. The leader helps keep him in line and under control when going out for walks. The gentle leader appears to be made with excellent quality and shows no signs of deterioration or use so far. This gentle leader has really changed our lifestyle! There is a lot less frustration in our household and we are much happier for that.

I have used the gently brand with my other dogs and they work so well in controlling their behavior and helping me be able to walk them. I had two dogs that were 100 plus pounds so it was hard to walk both of them. But with the gently it was easy. I got this cute gentle lead with the donuts on it for my new 9-month-old puppy. She hates it but it works perfectly. It doesn't hurt her and it is comfortable. She just needs to get used to walking with it. It took about two times for that to happen and now she's a pro. No pulling, no trying to run away. Perfect for training. After 4 months she's able to walk off leash without running away.

In the realm of pet training and handling the gentle leader is a very effective tool. But I can’t caution enough to be very careful when you handle your dog with this because it does hit on all the nerves and senses in their muzzle… You do want to be gentle with them when you handle them in this harness. It reinforces response and focus because it does hit those pressure points and the dog acts. My dog really wasn’t too thrilled with it at first but it is a very great tool when you’re around a crowd of people or other dogs because it forces the dog to focus on you the handler, and the harness that your leading them by. This particular harness I thought was a little bit on the light side. I would’ve liked it to be a little bit more in terms of thickness. I could see where my dog could chew through it pretty quickly if she was allowed to do that. The colors are fantastic in this particular design. That part I like it very much. I’m definitely saving this harness for special occasions. And if you have a dog who jumps up a lot this is great for keeping them at your side and discouraging to not jump up on other people. At least that’s been our experience. It also reduces the puller…. Some trainers do not like this product at all. I’m finding that there are a lot of different tools and harnesses and collars and leads that you can use. I think you really just have to find what works best for your pet. However I think using a variety of different tools can be very helpful, Especially when you’re trying to keep a fresh approach with your training. Don’t let tour dog get bored. And also approach all your training with love - good luck and try the “gentle leader”. I’ve seen very intense hyperactive dogs turned into little passive sweethearts with this tool, so I can say I can recommend it. It is definitely a great tool in your training box.

I’m such a gentle leader fan! I use them for my two dogs and I ordered one of these because it looked EXACTLY the same as the $50 petsmart ones but was wayyyy less costly on amazon, so I ordered the cute donut one for my boxer thinking it might not work great with her round face but the size M works wonderfully for my 65 pound boxer and a just ordered another one in size L for my 100 pound golden. But the medium actually works on him too! because they’re pretty versatile leashes! I would say it’s safe to get a L for anything over 50 pounds and you can just adjust the pull with the little lever at the bottom. But my petsmart gentle leader actually broke pretty quick and it cost 2-3x the amount of this one and this one is way cuter with the design! I get compliments almost every time I take the dogs out! people love the little design because most stores sell them in only black. I would order a few because they’re so good to have and work wonders! also before using the gentle leader my dogs were totally different doggos! the gentle leader is SOOOOO helpful in all aspects of training!

We've been using a solid gentle leader on my lab/golden for several years. It works decently - he still pulls, but not nearly as bad as with just a collar or a harness. It's also easy to redirect him if we happen to encounter an off-leash dog, which is the main reason I like the gentle leader. We were in need of a new one and I loved this donut print. Needless to say, it is cheap polyester webbing that is more thin compared to the nylon of the solid color leaders. This means the adjustment does not stay. I am constantly having to readjust every time I put it on him (the strap is so thin it slips through the buckle adjustment) whereas I never had to adjust the solid color one since the webbing was thicker and it would stay put. Also, the flimsy leash that comes with it is of no use for a large dog. Even though it's a super-cute print, go with the solid color gentle leader instead - it will last much longer and stay put.

I have a 60lb female Catahoula Leopard dog named Lady. She’s the sweetest dog but she was horrible on the leash. She pulled my arm till it hurt and had developed leash aggression when walking near other dogs. She would bark and jump and pull and growl. It was really annoying and made me really tense around other dogs. I felt horrible about pulling the collar on her neck. We got the gentle leader about a month ago. The first time we put it on her she walked like a brand new dog. She didn’t love it but we gave lots of treats and just walked at night until we was use to it. She didn’t pull at all at first but now that she’s use to it she does pull some again. It’s much more manageable and easier to control though. Now we’ve been on some walks going near other dogs and she still tries to go near dogs but she is learning not to finally. She is much less tense than having something around her neck so the leash aggression hasn’t even been a factor. When we walk near other dogs I just hold her in closer and it’s a lot easier than the collar/harness. I highly recommend this to anyone with a large dog that is hard to walk. I think it’s really easy to use and it has made me and the dog a lot happier during walks.

What a game changer!!! I just got done with out first walk and I can’t wait to go out again. I own 2 Catahoila mix rescues, my male is a great leash walker but my female was a constant pulled even with a starmark color. It got to the point I dreaded ever walking with her. Not to mention my tennis elbow wouldn’t allow it. My vet recommended the Gentle Leader. It arrived in 2 days with Amazon Prime per the package instructions I fitted it on her with no problems while giving her treats. The second time I did the same thing. The third time I put the leash on and walked her around the driveway and she did so well I took them both for a walk. It took 2 VERY GENTLE tugs (I wouldn’t even call tug - I more or less used my finger to tap the leash) as a reminder to heal and she was self correcting the entire walk. Another dog even walked by and lunged and she started to lunge but very quickly felt the nose pressure and backed off. The best part is we ALL enjoyed ourselves. Her tail was never tucked and she enjoyed the positive feedback. I highly recommend for anyone with pullers and hard headed dogs. Most importantly I wasn’t inflicting pain and never once was she confused- she just got it. Thank you to the inventor!!!

My pup doesn’t pull much with this. It didn’t take long for him to get used to this around his muzzle but admittedly he’s used to balancing stuff on his muzzle which could explain his tolerance for this. Just a couple of days where he tried to paw this off. My second purchase so we can wash one and use one.

Paid for next day delivery it arrived by 10 AM. Happy with speedy delivery. Pretty collar pattern, large size easily adjusts to fit 70 pound retriever. Have bought this brand before so I know the plastic parts are durable. My strong active lunging two-year-old is much easier to walk wearing this collar. Before using this he pulled me off my feet several times in his enthusiasm to investigate stuff. Would buy more of these if they had more patterns to choose from. From past experience I know that the lying down and pawing at the collar is a temporary behavior. Once they realize they can go for a walk, with a bit of training they sit quietly while you put it on. Remy wears a back up collar in the event he manages to pull the leader off his nose. Happily recommend this collar, it is a good value considering the improved behaviour on your walks.

No comprendo a qué se refieren con que no funciona si tu perro tira “demasiado" de la correa. Soy dueño de cuatro perros y frecuento entrenadores caninos todo el tiempo; nunca me he encontrado a un solo perro que se resista a este producto (aunque jale “demasiado"). Para mí es la solución perfecta para el perro poco cooperativo y creo que es la herramienta perfecta para dejar el horrible y cruel instrumento que es la correa de castigo en la basura –donde pertenece.

I love this design and had to buy from America. Why are all the UK ones boring old plain blue, black and red colours? Dogs just wanna have fun too! Great quality - came with a lead, instruction booklet and informative DVD. I love the Gentle leader. It is easy to use and gives you so much control without jerking and pulling your poor old pooch, who cannot help himself being sooo enthusiastic about walks and teasing cats!
