It’s a nice gizmo. It doesn’t really change the sound of your rim clicks. Well, it does a little bit, but it’s still the same flavor of sound. But this is not what this thing is for. It’s not to create new sounds. It’s exactly what its name says — a rim riser. It raises the level of the rim surface so the clicks feel more comfortable to the hand. No more no less. And if this is what you’re looking for, it does the job.Easy installation. Be sure to read the manual (just a couple of sentences) — it details the order of washers (included) during the installation, it’s important.

This came in the mail last night but I was heading to practice. Couldn't wait to get home to try it out. Got home at midnight & stayed up to install this on a 13" piccolo snare. Lug provide was too long but I found a medium lug in my stash. WOW! Sounds freaking awesome!!! You can change the pitch by moving the butt end of the stick closer or farther from the rim. In some spots sounds almost like a wood block, in others sounds like a really cool rim shot. I can't wait to use this at practice tonight!!!!I've bought a lot of drum stuff on line but this is one of the best purchases I've made yet. Gives a whole new demension & sound to your rim shot. Sweet!!!

I was looking for more of a raise. It sound ok and color is nice has two long tension rods for lugs but if I would have known I wouldn't have baught this..not worth the money for me. I been playing for 29 years I know how to Cross stick with the best. This isn't a advantage for me maybe for someone else..I.like the concept though

It works just like hitting the existing drum rim as far as sound but changes the angle making it easier to play . Doesn't come with latest DW Tension Rod thread size .

the rim riser is a good, but the spacer is too tall for my snare.
