The Very Hungry Caterpillar Precut Felt Pieces for Toddlers, Kindergarteners, Interactive Teaching 14-Piece Set

I made a felt board for my 2 year old granddaughter and bought several of these sets that go along with the books. Her favorite is "Monkeys Jumping On The Bed". After a few months of retelling the stories with her along with the felt pieces she now pulls the sets out of the drawer, sets up the characters and retells the story all by herself. These sets are made very well and I am sure we'll be passing them along when she outgrows them.

Very nice set. I cut the pieces out individually so we could count each piece of fruit together as we place them on the board. It extends the fun of the whole storytelling experience. (Plus it just looks better and more realistic without all that excess white surrounding all the images.) My daughter and I have the story memorized from the book so this is a huge thrill for her to see it in another form.

These pieces are beautifully done and very large - they fit on my 36x24 felt board. The fruit and foods each come as a single piece - a piece of 5 oranges instead of 5 individual oranges, for example. I cut them apart to have single pieces for classroom use and have kids add them to the flannel board in order to form the story. They are a lovely activity to go with a classic children's book!

I am a kindergarten teacher and ordered these to use with a felt board in my classroom. I gave each student a piece that they could place on the board to retell the story. The students LOVED this and it really engaged them in the story. i definitely want to order some more felt board stories like this!

They are bigger than I had wanted, but they are nice quality. Good price. And my son loves them! Highly recommend.

I use these in my classroom every year. It's fun for the kiddos. I do wish that the random foods were separated and not blocked together. I also wish the pieces were numbered to add that element for teaching and make it easier as a teacher retelling the story. I put numbers in the back of the pieces to tell the story in order. Thats the only reason for the 4 stars.
