Sixteen-year-old Regina is very different from the Regina known by fans of ABC's " Once Upon a Time." She seeks romance, adventure, and approval. Of course, getting approval from a mother like Cora is next to impossible. For Regina, friendships have always been a rare commodity. Could it be that Regina has finally found a true friend? Or is it too good to be true? As Regina struggles to find her own identity and create her own destiny, she discovers that her fate might just be to become everything she despises. Review: Perfect addition to my collection of Wendy Toliver Books - I proudly added this book to my collection of Wendy Toliver's books. Her beautiful descriptive style and fresh voice always makes for a wonderful read. Although I am an adult, she made me love YA books ever since her first published book, The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren. Regina Rising again did not disappoint. Even though I am not familiar with the Once Upon Time TV series, I enjoyed the unique suspenseful story immensely, just as I enjoyed Red's Untold Tale. The characters were so well described I felt emotionally involved and did not want to let them go after reading the last page. I wanted to read more about them and what their futures held. Regina's terrible fictional childhood did make me think about Regina in the fairy tale, Snow White, and I felt sympathy for her, now knowing what a evil mother she had. So many twists and turns. And I cried for Regina and all she endured during this engaging suspensful tale. I really cannot wait for Wendy's next book. Review: Once Upon a Time book - Received quickly with no issues and good quality

A must for a Regal!
As a Oncer I love Regina. She has so much backstory to her and I always want to know more about her. I love how this book also gives us the story of her scar on her lip (not gonna give any spoilers away!) I did feel like this story was a bit rushed. There was so much more potential, so much more I wanted to know, and why, yet instead it just came to a sudden closure, which made me wish there was another book coming. You do get to see Regina interact with Snow White as well, which was a nice treat. So many hints at future stories in the Once realm, and interactions as well. I did enjoy it.

Alternative prehistory of how Regina from Once Upon a Time got brought up.
When I first ordered this book and read it was about Regina's backstory it had me to intrigued. I thought the author would spin along the Tv show and I would learn about how she meet Daniel and so on. The tale in itself stands well on its own telling the tale of young Regina and her friend Claire . I had a feeling all along she was under Cora's power. So when I learned she was near the end I was not surprised at all. However I liked the adventures she had with Regina before Regina knew. I also liked the flashbacks where we lean about Regina's younger self, as I found them possible to have happened. I cried over Rosinante's mother Hwin and I was sure Cora had killed her. It just made sense. Also I liked the part where Regina is afraid of thunder as a child. The fact that Cora let her stay while it last, shows she does care about her daughter, and I found it cute that instead of leaving Regina alone in her room once the storm stopped, she stayed. The ending is perfect as Clair gets her punishment for her betrayal .

This book, the second in this series by Wendy Toliver, added much additional enjoyment to the TV series Once Upon a Time. The author puts the reader right inside the minds of each character using vivid expressions and emotions. This book is an excellent read. The book format is very attractive.

Arrived in perfect condition. Beautiful hard cover
Arrived in perfect condition.Beautiful hard cover, large print, good story for any Regina fan. Any Evil Regal can feel the struggle, pain, and betrayal of the 16 yr. old girl who only wanted love and freedom. This story tells of the deal she made that began the transformation from the mischievous girl to the woman she became. A Queen she didn't want to be.

"Once Upon a Time - Regina Rising": Die frühen Jahre der (bösen) Königin
Ebenfalls bereits erschienen: „Once Upon a Time: Red's Untold Tale“.
