High quality soft boiled egg shell cracker
After experiencing this soft boiled egg cracker in Japan, I had to have one. This is a high quality egg cracker that works wonderfully. You just raise and drop the stainless steel weight on the attached rod three times. It makes a perfect crack to remove the top of the egg with a nice clean edge. Highly recommend!

Good product
This works but is more difficult to use than sown on Amazon. In my experience, you have to slam the top part down, not simply let it drop, to get the egg shell to crack but overall it does work

Soft Boil Egg Cracker
I like my eggs soft boiled, the only thing is the mess when I crack them open, and l also like to dip my bread (soldiers) into the runny yolk. The problem was the mess, getting a good clean cut of the shell large enough to get my soldier in and a spoon with a big enough opening to do it easily was difficult. Then a saw my nephew with an egg cracker, I was amazed, these things have been around for a long time, I thought they had gone away. I ordered one immediately and it works so well I am ordering more for my kids, it cracks the egg in a perfect circle, large enough for you to dig in there, most of the time the shell comes off clean leaving the white intact, you can just cut through, sometimes the shell stays on but with the perfect crack, no mesh on the cracker, its perfect. Love it!!

This is a poor product
Gravity does not do all the work. Relying on gravity does not crack the shell; you have to give it a little force. Also, after using it only a few times, the rod broke off due to poor welding/design rendering the product useless. Don't waste your time or money.

SOME TIMES
We too like our eggs soft boiled and hate the mess of cracking them. The first time we used this it worked perfectly. We thought problem solved. But ever since then the performance has been spotty. Once and a while it works as it did at first (about 25%), most of the time it almost works but requires a very careful hand removal of the cap. The other times it shatters the shell so badly that we have to pick tiny pieces of shell from the egg before we eat it. We've tried dropping the ball once (that never worked) and twice (rarely works). Drop it three times and that fall into the upper 75% category. Drop it four times and that never works.

Cracks boiled eggs like an expert.
I hated whacking my soft boiled eggs with a spoon and then trying to get that top off enough to actually eat the egg without messing around trying to get the shell off the egg: i never got the gift of egg whacking well enough. The brits use these things all the time: they work soooo well. Just put your cooked egg into an egg holder with the small end up, position the little bell shaped thing on top of it touching it: holding the little ball upright: pull the bell up to the top and drop it. maybe it will need two drops. Remove the cracker and walllahhh! the top will come off with a clean break and doesn't leave shell all over the place. just wonderful.

It works
It’s really cute, works well. Lost the little knob on the top but it still functions. It’s easy to clear which you don’t have to worry about to Much unless it punctures the egg so hard and yoke flies everywhere but that’s not likely to happen unless you have like Hulk fingers

Chicken eggs are having harder shells than they used to ! The Egg Crackers are too weak !!
Great conversation piece ! Fun to use. If you can pronounce the German word for it, you'll be seen as very entertaining : "Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher"! Depending on how thick the egg shell is, you need to drop the ball more than once. On the other hand, that might smash the lower part of the egg. Exciting ! A playful start to your day. BUT : the spot weld attaching the stem to the bell is TOTALLY inadequate. After our first implement came apart, we bought a second one : it only lasted one week !!! Somebody do something about this - inform the manufacturer - replace our beloved breakfast entertainments with durable ones !!! R.S.V.P.
