Mastering Communication at Work
I was initially prompted to read the book because one of the co-authors, Ethan Becker, was secured to facilitate a staff development workshop at the college where I work. Reading the book was a good use of my time because it is loaded with practical tips to motivate yourself and others, to run effective meetings, to give and receive criticism and keep it in perspective, and to master effective presentation techniques. These are but a few of the concepts that Becker and Wortmann so aptly deliver and discuss in their book.

Very easy read with pertinent advise
Very easy read with pertinent advise. I implemented the skill set taught in this book and it works. You can't change how other people communicate but you can change how you communicate with other people. I found myself becoming more at ease and less stressed due to the fact that when I applied the knowledge gained from this book, I knew I was doing it right.

Good overall.
Most of the information was creatively presented. Some I felt did not represent how I train folks to manage situations. Good overall.

Book was well written with a lot of excellent information. It is set up however to be interactive with a mentor of some type. So in order to acheive the full affect of the material you will need a co worker or mentor that you can really trust which some may find hard to find.
