You're paying for the peace of mind you'll have, it will confirm whether or not you truly have a blown headgasket. Some cars (looking at you BMW) like to overheat even when the headgasket is not blown, so this is an essential tool for being able to say 100% that you have hydrocarbons in your coolant. The hydrocarbons are what this detects, and exhaust gasses create them. If the headgasket is intact, you won't have hydrocarbons in your coolant. So it's a pretty darn good test. I was able to use this on a car that ran fine, showed no issues, but slightly overheated at red lights. It confirmed that the headgasket is indeed blown and will save me tons of time and money.

Need it for my tester

Not much to say. It show up a bad head gasket if you have the proper suction device.

This is a very reliable way to detect carbon gasses and possibly others. When used as prescribed, it detects the smallest combustion leaks within an engine. This can save thousands by early detection, or avoiding purchasing a vehicle that will need major engine repairs soon. It also rules out a mis-diagnosed combustion leak.

Not a cheaper way to confirm bad head gasket. This is the way to go.

This stuff detected a head gasket leak in about a minute. Unless your leak is so bad that it immediately blows all the fluid out of the tester, it only takes about an ouce of fluid for one test. If the fluid does blow out, no need to retest. :-P

Does as it should the best brand there is out there for testing exhaust emissions in the coolant to see if the headgasket is gone

I own a garage and do these tests all day long. Works just the same as the more expensive stuff and came next day :-)
