Good "puzzle"... or, just make your own.
I have been making treat containers for my furry kids for years. It's simple really. I just take a plastic container and cut different size holes in them. When we first started, I cut out an empty (washed) peanut butter plastic jar and cut quite a few larger holes in it, so they would get the idea. They get new "puzzles" that have less holes and different shaped plastic containers. But this particular toy is a bit more intriguing and different from anything I have made for them, which is what I was looking for. The Treat Ball is human friendly to use. I like the option of different sized holes. One hole is small, one is big. The bigger one can be adjusted for different size treats or kibble. Some treats will get stuck and I have to shake the ball to get them loose. Sometimes more than one treat will come out. While in other efforts, some swipes will get the kitties nothing. It's all part of the game. This ball can't be opened to clean. But I am only putting treats in there, and when it is not in use I close it up. I might add that is it sturdy and can take a beating. I have one cat that will do almost anything to get tasty tidbits. This is Lulu, the cat that will do the work. The other (2) cats will sit and watch, then scarf up some treats that she has left behind. So it's not really a fair game. Lulu still ends up with the majority of the treats. But hey, she's doing all the work, right? I would recommend this treat dispenser. Be patient. It might take them a few days or longer to get the hang of it if your feline companion has never had to work for his/her food before. Put some delicious smelly treats in it. These puzzles not only keep a cat from eating too fast, but it also provides physical entertainment and keeps them intellectually stimulated. Which in turn, will make your cat live a longer life.

Overall decent product
Purchase Date: June 2nd, 2020 My cats don’t particularly love these. We have one other that has bigger holes and the food comes pouring out. The cats prefer that one, however these are closer to doing the job that I wanted. I want my cats to have to work for their food instead of being served in a bowl. These make them work harder than the other one with larger holes. Sometimes that means they give up, but I figure if they’re that lazy about it they must not be that hungry. Also, they don’t work as toys for us. My cats don’t really like plastic toys anyway and these are far too big for them to even try batting and chasing them around. Typically, they just sit there and roll it back and forth until food comes out. The hole to fill them isn’t much bigger than the hole the food comes out of so sometimes it gets tedious filling 3 of them twice a day. The main thing I don't like about them is that they don't come apart. This makes washing them and getting them to dry difficult. The only way to clean them is to fill them with water and soap and shake them up then let them air dry. It takes a long time. I feel this product could be improved but I also think it’s currently the closest product available to what I want. October 17th, 2020: One broke but the other two are still fine. Cats still have the same general feeling about them: they will but they’d rather not.

For $5 this seems to be pretty well built
For $5 this seems to be pretty well built. The large fill hole is easy to dump a few handfuls of food into, it's good size, holds enough for a meal and turning it over to the dispense setting is easy. It seems pretty sturdy. That being said you should adjust your expectations to your cat. I was honestly hoping to get a little pep/exercise out of him like with the laser pointer. Smack it around and Chase down the treat. You might get that with a younger cat. But my 9 year old is smart enough/lazy enough to just poke it around with his nose and the food/treats fall out pretty regularly. If you made that their only food source I suppose they might be a little more motivated and get some exercise wandering around poking at it for food. On the other hand he has a massive wealth of energy the second a mouse tries to set foot in the house... And goes tearing off and in short order waltzes by holding his new "toy" gently in his mouth... Until I take it from him... So in summary this seems to be a pretty solid treat/food ball. I'm happy with it for the price despite the limited enthusiasm. But as always YCWV (your cat will vary)

Rolly-fun
I don't know why, but I was expecting this to be bigger. It's about the size of tennis ball which is pretty perfect for the kittos. I'd been having a hard time getting the cats to eat their dental treats but now that it's "fun" they seem more apt to enjoy them. They don't really chase it around the house like I was hoping (for the exercise) but it does occupy them and they go into "stalk-attack" mode with it so they're definitely getting some mental stimulation out of it. One of my cats will actually pick up the ball by the small opening and carry it around like a dog playing fetch...so funny. Here are the only cons that I'm experiencing: 1. It's made of durable plastic which is very noisy going across the tile floor. Carpet is totally fine. 2. There are two openings. A big one to stuff the treats through which then gets covered up by the colored cap and then a smaller one for the treats to come out of during play. The smaller opening might be too small for some of the treats that I have turning the ball into a big rattle. I'll try to buy some smaller treats otherwise it's just a toy that rolls and rattles.

Just for fun, I bought one of these for our two ...
Just for fun, I bought one of these for our two chickens. With some black oil sunflower seeds in it, Lily figured it out right away, knocking it around to get the seeds to fall out. Trouble is she won't share with Imogene so I bought a second one. Imogene took a little longer to sort out the process. Then the Big Bad Squirrel came and took Imogene's toy away and chomped it into bits! I bought two more because it doesn't seem fair to have just one. (Lily is definitely not into sharing.) The funniest part is that Imogene has lost her patience with the Squirrel family and now chases them out of the yard! Truly hysterical to watch. The only small, insignificant difficulty with this toy is that the top can be a little hard to twist open and close. I open it up wide to load it with a few sunflower seeds, then twist it to narrow the opening so that it takes a bit more effort, more knocking around, to get the sunflower seeds to fall out. I'm not taking any stars off for this because: 1. the top needs to be a bit stiff or it would open up too much or close completely when it is knocked around. 2. I doubt this was designed to be used outside where bits of dust or dirt can get between the inner and outer layers. If you have pet chickens, I highly recommend this toy. It adds another activity to their day and the busier they are the less trouble they get into. Search the Internet for "bored chickens" to find other activities for your yard birds.

I have three cats. One is not food motivated at all (not sure he's really a cat). One is food motivated but not what you would call a genius. The third is food motivated and smart and she really responds to mental stimulation. She loves this ball. I usually put a small handful of food in it along with a small handful of greenies treats (the hairball remedy ones). If I don't fix her ball first thing in the morning, she will bug me until I do. It stimulates her mind and gives her problems to solve, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The not-genius cat understands how it works but can't get treats to come out (so I just give her a few treats by herself when the other cats gets her treat ball). The treat ball cat loves this so much that she has started messing with her dry food bowl, pretending that there is some trick to getting the food out of it -- she bats it around like it's the treat ball and, I mean, I'm glad she is so entertained but there is kibble everywhere each morning when I first go into the kitchen. :-D

Cat Ball?
I ordered this thinking that my cats would love to play with it. They like to make issues when they are playing because they like to solve the issues. IE they put a fake mouse in a shoe a to make it harder to play with or something else to make it harder to play with. I figured that they needed a toy that made them think and saw this. It was cheap and simple so I thought it would work. WHen I got the ball my first reaction was, it is too big for my cats, and my cats are big. One is 13 lbs. and the other is 16 lbs. Sure my cats could hit the ball if they wanted too but I don't see why they would want to. The ball size is the size of a baseball. so it's big compared to normal cat balls which are about the size of a gold ball. Although I don't see my cats using it I'm going to give it to a friend who has a dog and see if it will work for them. I gave this 2 stars because although it wouldn't work for a cat i think it would be good for a dog. Also it looks as though it's been made really well. it's a thick hard plastic.

It's great, but
So, this little treat ball is exactly what I needed for my very fat cat, he now has to work for his treats and watching him learn it was hilarious! There is a learning curve for you to, too small of treats and it will dispense them in piles (We tried it first with his kibble for his lunch). We then put actual treats (lower calorie than his kibble) and has worked great, but the ball does wear down after so many fills that it will start to close as kitty is playing with it, so we scotch taped it for it to stay open until we just bought another because it still is a good treat ball. The biggest problem though is that kitty will lose it everywhere, under the couch, behind the desk, in a corner of the room you would have no idea how they got it there... so we bought another cause we couldn't find it, so now we have two and the one that was lost was found and the replacement for that is now lost.. LOL looking for the ball daily makes a fun game but your kitty will be of no help LOL

frágil.
para cachorros bem ativos a bola é frágil. no meu caso, o meu Schnauzer destruiu na primeira oportunidade. a bola se partiu.
