He's long gone now, but I had the original Kenner Star Wars 3-3/4" Emperor action figure when I was a kid. Naturally, decades later, this modern 6" version is WAY better than that one was! While Sidious is incredibly powerful and dangerous, an old man in a black robe admittedly isn't the most exciting looking toy in the world. Hasbro did a good job on Palpatine though. He's got a fully articulated body underneath the fabric robe, which barely restricts his range of motion. I do wish that he had an ab crunch joint, so you could hunch him over more. As is, the cane doesn't quite reach the ground. Good likeness and paintwork too. It's not noticeable with the naked eye, but, I did see quite a few small hairs/threads stuck to his face in my closeup photos. Mixed media plastic & fabric at this scale is never going to be a perfect marriage, and I feel Palpatine needed an ab crunch joint and some Force lightning, but, overall, this is a very well done Darth Sidious action figure.

As someone who grew up playing with the old Power of the Force figures in the 90s, this 6”Black Series Archive Emperor Palpatine figure hit the nostalgia perfectly for me. The figure looks accurate to how Palpatine appeared in the movies, and the detail and paint job are really solid. The facial sculpt, robes, and overall presentation feel premium without losing that classic Star Wars action figure feel. The articulation is nice too, making it fun both for posing on display and just playing around with! For the price I paid at the time, the value felt good. If you’re a longtime Star Wars collector or someone who grew up with the older figures like I did, this is an awesome version of Palpatine to add to the collection!

Nice addition to my collection. Also I know Vader is dusty but yeah that’s beside the point. Palpatine looks great!

Arrived in perfect condition, and an absolute steal at $12. The robe that comes with this archive version is of much better quality than the newer re-release. The articulation lends to posing very well, and the scale is perfect in height standing next to the imposing Lord Vader.

My favorite character is now spreading his malice from my fine shelf 😍😍😍. Quality strait through, worth the price. Only minus is that the staff dont really fits the hand and make a strange angle.

Stumbled upon this figure while browsing other Black Series 6" figures and it was on discount: only cost me €14,72, so I purchased 2 of them. Only 4 stars because even though the package refers to the earlier release (which was an Amazon exclusive) this Archive version only comes with the cane, but not with swappable heads, lightning hands and a throne. I can 3D print the throne myself and I might be able to find a 3D file for the hands too.
