Compact, Powerful, and Versatile Light
The SMALLRIG Mini Cube Light has really exceeded my expectations. For such a tiny light, it packs a serious punch โ the brightness is impressive, and it has multiple levels so you can easily adjust it to suit different shooting conditions. I mainly use it for video and photography, and it provides a clean, consistent light without any flicker. The color temperature adjustment is a big plus, allowing me to match different environments or add a creative touch to my shots. Itโs also built really solidly for such a compact light โ it feels sturdy, not cheap. The battery life is decent for its size, and I like that it charges quickly via USB-C. Itโs small enough to slip in a pocket or camera bag, making it super convenient for travel or on-location shoots. Overall, this is a brilliant little light for creators who need something portable but still professional. A must-have accessory for photographers and videographers.

Outstanding
This is an incredible kit. From the outset impressions are very good because of the case it comes in. And then when you open it up care has been taken with where the various accessories are placed. Everything is in rows of three so itโs easy to see what parts go with which light. Rather than just having a softcase with lots of pockets for the bits to be thrown into. This is a very appealing piece of kit right from the start. The lights are a bit bigger than a 2p. Perhaps one and a half times the size of a 2p coin actually. Even on the lowest they are super bright so anybody saying theyโre not bright is talking nonsense. Theyโre just expecting too much! These ARE bright and on the fourth setting theyโre super bright but of course you wonโt get as long on the battery. Iโve not had these long enough to test how long the batteries last on different power settings. Nice Iโve done this I will update this review. The accessories for this pack are fantastic. You get three charging cables which are short and youโll need your own mains plug with three big usb(A) sockets on them. The small end that goes into the cube is a usb-c but the big end is usb-a. You then have three barn doors which make the lights a miniature Hollywood set up. Really good for diverting light and blocking it where you want it the most/least. There are three diffusers also which are good for giving an overall even smooth light across the whole scene. Next you have three tripods. Little ones which have legs that pull out and extend once further but be careful as Iโve had these tripods before with a webcam and if you pull the leg down to hard (from its feet) then the whole leg will break apart and never go back in. Think of those cheap fishing nets you get for the kids which extend the poles. Pull too far and theyโll come out. Then you have three attachments for putting the lights on top of your go pro or mirrorless camera etc. Also there are three small plastic boxes which contain several different coloured filters and inside the box is a honeycomb grid for better control of the light. It narrows down the light so you have better control of where it is. BE AWARE that this honeycomb grid comes as two parts; the honeycomb itself and the main bracket. Simply slide out the honeycomb with your thumb to leave the bracket attached to the lumecube because this bracket is magnetic which means you can use it with the cone attachments. The cones allow you to use the cubes as spotlights but they magnetise to the bracket. Somebody on here was moaning that there was no attachment for the coloured filters. There is !!!! Simply take the lumecube and remove every attachment. Put the filter over the light and then clip the bracket over it that has the magnetic corners (for sticking on the cone and honeycomb etc) This way the filters are trapped inside and stay in place. So Iโm very happy with this. The triple pack is great value for money and I use this for macro photography mostly when out and about doing landscapes etc. Donโt spend a fortune on LumeCubes when you have these but be mindful of the running times quoted because if you want more lasting time then youโd have to buy another box to use whilst these are recharging, which I believe takes a few hours! Just donโt use on full power if you can help it. Use as much natural light as possible for free if the look youโre going for allows this. Good luck

Small but effective
Great little light for taking pictures of small subjects. The magnetic attachments are good but it would be great if the magnets were a tad stronger to allow stacking. The colour filters are tricky as they are quite small, colour changing LEDs would be better. Well made, lightweight and small plus easy to setup. This is an example picture using it

It's tiny but mighty!
This unit is tiny and I mean tiny but it packs a powerful punch. The supplied accessories are useful though the barn doors feel a little flimsy. Magnetic attachment system for the accessories works well and gives a positive attachment. To use the accessories you first clip on the magnetic adapter then fit the accessory. There's a good selection of gels included and these fit under the magnetic attachment adapter but can also be used between the magnetic adapter and accessory. The only oversight in my view is the silicone diffuser has to be used without the magnetic adapter. Seems an oversight in my view. So how's brightness? For its size it's impressive. To test I set up the camera pointing at a wall. Then without bombing it I tried each other lights I have to compare exposure settings. At 2m from the wall with camera set at ISO 800 and f/3.2 the Smallrig was 1/34 seconds, the Vijim shown was 1/26th and the generic Chinese RGB unit was 1/20th (camera used Fuji XT-4). Negatives: 1. Battery life. At 50 mins (manufacturer figure) @100% it's around half the Vijim unit. 2. Only 4 steps for brightness. 3. Colour temp is adjusted by gels and isn't continuously adjustable. To summarise this is a well built and versatile little unit that's ideal for tabletop or macro photography. It's not a studio light but is small enough to hide anywhere if extra light or colour is required within a scene. Best of all it fits in a pocket of your bag easily so you need never be without it.

Very useful light with some handy accessories in the box
I bought this for ยฃ29.66 with the various discounts, but it's still good value at the RRP. The light is tiny which helps with macro lighting, but is also nice and bright at the top setting. There's several handy accessories such as tiny barn-doors, snoot, diffuser and gel filters. Run time is good with the efficient LED. Weight is minimal so it's easy to carry. There's a cold-shoe in the box but you probably want a Gorilla style mini tripod for flexibility in use. All in all, very happy with this purchase.

Great value for a lot of handy kit
I am so impressed with not only the amount of kit inside the bag, but also the quality of the gear. The case is also well thought out to keep everything in a specific place while also stopping everything rattling about. The lights are absolutely perfect for all sorts of projects - from macro photography, portrait photography and I will also be using for night photography. Yes, the lights are not the brightness, but for what they are, they are small, versatile and can be placed near enough anywhere to help get the lighting required. Depending on the project, these could easily be used for main lighting, colouring lighting or even shadow reducing lighting - the small tripods are simple and the combination of having the Diffuser, Snoot, Honeycomb and Barndoor addons together with the coloured filters, just make the lighting possibilities easy to adjust. Overall well pleased with the purchase - going to help a lot with those subtle lighting needs.

Best lights in my pack.
There's a lot to like about this light, it's compact, lightweight, very solidly constructed, has a high output - and is quite flexible power-wise. The battery has a decent life for its size and, even after it's discharged, you can continue to use the light via usb and a suitable power bank even as the light charges. Light output itself is listed as having a CRI of 95, which is great, and a colour temp of 5600K +/- 200, so allows easy exposure setting, also great...or so I thought. I've had one of these for a good while and found it to be reliable, easy to pack etc. and great for outdoor macro shooting - so good that I decided the only thing better than one of these would be two of them, so I bought another. Sadly, this is where things take something of a downward turn. So the lights aren't too expensive, but they're also not ten a penny but, given the quality and their utility, this is pretty acceptable. However, I assumed, given the spec and price, the output of the new unit would fall roughly in line with my current unit - but was disappointed to find they had very different colour temps - attached pic shows the difference, the new unit is very visibly warmer. The spec does say 5600K +/- 200K - which means that there could easily be a variance of 400K unit to unit. To me, the difference here looks greater than 400K - but my eyeballs didn't come with a calibration certificate so, as I also have a Zhiyun fiveray, I set that to 5600K and compared it to the output of the two cubes. Interestingly, the variance of the two fell on both sides of the fiveray but was very much less pronounced - which could actually support the difference being not much more than 400K - all very subjective but there you go. The point is, while there's some disappointment in the difference in output between them, there was a fair time delay between purchasing my two and I expect that that is a factor. The build quality is still excellent and, if you buy the three pack, you're more likely to get a set with matching light beads- though that's just a guess. I still recommend them, and I'll probably buy more. The difference isn't so great that it can't be dealt with - just have make sure I get the three pack next time. Had to lose a star - but only because it wasn't possible to lose just half a star. They're still two of the best lights in my pack and they'll see a lot of use over the autumn.

Outstanding product
Outatanding, all parts seem solid enough with loads of accessories, very bright with variable brightness and with the likes of the defuser it's a work or art, can be used in various ways but definately takes macro to another level. I didn't realise until after I bought mine they have an offer for a three pack so essentially buy two get a third free. Will definately be buying more when I can.
