Thermostat exact replacement
This type thermostat had been installed in a Sun City garage--vitally necessary in the excessively hot summer to cool things down when a hot engine is confined with the garage door down. I found this one which seems to be an exact replacement of the original, which had failed after 20 years or more. So I opted for this as the installation was a simple remove and replace rather than reconfigure and rewire with something digital. Installed and working fine. I would definitely recommend, but a couple puzzling comments: 1) most such devices advertise a turn-on or a turn-off temp setting. The adjustable dial shows the temp setting but no idea and none in the very brief literature about whether it is the turn-on or turn-off temp. 2) The heading calls this an "adjustable, programmable". I would remove the word programmable. It clearly is adjustable but in no way is programmable, as the term is usually applied to a digital device--and this device is wholly analog as near as I can tell. All in all, a good replacement and working fine.

Works fantastic as an RV vent fan control.
I added this to a Vortex Replacement Vent Fan that was a major upgrade in our trailer's bathroom. https://www.amazon.com/Hengs-90043-CR-Replacement-Vortex-Fan/dp/B002N1J5IM/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1532359723&sr=1-2&keywords=Vortex+Replacement+Vent+Fan Just wire the two black wires across the existing switch of the vent fan, and set your temperature. The vent fan will still work with the manual switch as before, except will now automatically run when the temp in the RV gets too high. That helps tremendously with reducing stress on the RV fridge. (we leave our fridge on 24/7 and use it for extra cold storage) I put the XXFIRESTAT in the closet next to the bathroom in our trailer, facing in a way so that I can get to the temp dial easily. Now, instead of running 24/7, the vent fan turns itself on when it heats up outside. Now, with the RV parked in the driveway, I have it set to 85 degrees. When we camp, I can drop it to 65 or 70 so it will turn off at night while we're in bed and it cools down, and turn itself back on as the sun comes up and it begins to get warm. All while we're still laying in bed. The factory switch allows the fan to be used when showering etc. with A/C on and too cool to be run by the XXFIRESTAT.

Do you have a musty, almost moldy smell in your shed , storage, crawl space or other area?
For this project I used 3 items together to install and set up an automated variable speed exhaust fan controlled by temperature. There are many other ways thatt this can be done but I chose to go this route simply because of the quality and efficiency of the thermostat and speed controller and variable speed fan in conjunction with one another. In the first picture you can see where I drilled a pilot hole from the exterior of the building into the interior to see exactly where I was on the inside of the building. Once I knew I simply found my center point between the studs and marked out my rough opening. After cutting through the plywood from the inside and the sheet metal siding from the outside I started to take more precise measurements of my exhaust fan louvered shell. At this point I realized the thickness of the wall was more than double what I had expected. So I took some sheet metal and fabricated a transition piece from the louvered casing , through the wall, and into the storage building. I then took some fairly heavy duty aluminum window screen type material and screened just inside the louveres to keep out bugs because it didn’t come with anything already on or with or even an add on option. I attached the motor to my transition piece and wired up the thermostat to a pigtail (extension cord cut off with male ends still attached, and also wired up the motor speed controller. I set my lowest speed setting with my speed controller so as not to harm the motor with too low of rpms. I then took some of the exact metal siding that he had leftover and cut and fit it so it would hardly be noticeable. He said he was going to paint the rivers but don’t have the updated picture. He is very pleased with the ease of use, efficiency, and the professional install. He did question why I didn’t just silicone the outside and be done with it. I simply told him that you’ll like it much more the way I’m gonna trim it out. And, boy, he was eatatic at how much better it looked at the finished product. I highly recommend all three of these products and do offer many other services if you can appreciate when things are done the right way.

Good value
Exact replacement for my attic fan. Thermal protection is an added safety feature I consider absolutely essential. Well made, all metal construction. Thermostat is accurate -/+ 5 degrees. Super easy to install and a reasonably priced replacement.

how long they last
NOT OUT OF THE BOX YET BUT IT IS THE PART I ORDERD. I HAD ANOTHER PRODUCT , SAME PART , THAT LASTED 10 - 12 YEARS SO I ASSUME THIS ONE WILL BE AS GOOD SO 5 STAR.

It works!
The attic fan thermostat stopped working. I switched the thermostat with this one. Works like a charm.

Works well but...
Works well, I like the fire over heat cut off feature however when the temp drops below the set temp, the unit wont shut off. For example: I have the temp set to 105 degrees, it comes on fine but won't shut off until the temp drops below 80 degrees. A tap from a broom handle vibrates it enough to shut it off but I don't think I should have to do that every time. Lately it's been over 105 here and I would have to get up at 2 or 3 am to go out and give it a tap to shut it off and that's not going to happen! Not a bad unit, it works well but they need to fix the problem with the temp controller.
