Appearing beautifully delicate, you'll be amazed how fine the rim is, but they can be handled with usual care of glassware (although not dishwasher safe). "Usuhari"..."Usu" means "thin" and "Hari" means "glass" in Japanese. The glass, only 0.9mm thick, is able to be produced by using the traditional technique of producing a light bulb. About USUHARI These remarkably thin drinking glasses called "Usuhari" are each carefully hand crafted at the Shotoku Glass facility in Japan. They are born from the same techniques as making light bulbs.
