The sophisticated Usuhari beer glass is made to enhance the taste of beer. These remarkable Usuhari Glasses are carefully hand made by master craftsmen. With 50 years experience of making glassware, Mr. Katagiri heads the process. Appearing beautifully delicate, you'll be amazed how fine the rim is, but they can be handled with usual care of glassware (although not dishwasher safe). "Usuhari"..."Usu" means "thin" and "Hari" means "glass" in Japanese. The glass, only 0.9mm thick, is able to be produced by using the traditional technique of producing a light bulb. Taste of the beverage directly reaches to the throat, and you can enjoy the distinct touch of a thin and light glass you've never experienced. About USUHARI These remarkably thin drinking glasses called "Usuhari" are each carefully hand crafted at the Shotoku Glass facility in Japan. They are born from the same techniques as making light bulbs. The feel of it in your hands, the sound the ice makes when it swirls in the cup and how fine the rim is are all exquisite and unique to this glass alone. This series appears to be extremely delicate but it can be handled with the usual care as other glassware (not dishwasher safe). So experience and enjoy this fine and exquisite glass for yourself. About SHOTOKU GLASS Established in 1922, Shotoku Glass was initially a manufacturer of glass for light bulbs. We have applied that knowledge to creating glassware that appears extremely thin and simplified beauty.
