They got the color right!!!
I ordered these as replacements for 3 LED candelabra base bulbs in my home study/office's ceiling fan. The old ones were "soft white" by another manufacturer, but they were pretty stark white. While they did the job, they didn't quite make it hospitable. Sure, I could see; but it wasn't exactly inviting. I ordered these Cree 40W replacements (equivalent); and even though they are dimmable, my study doesn't have a dimmer for the light so they're running at full power. I had seen promo/advertisement photos of the bulbs when dimmed, and I was slightly encouraged that someone may have cracked the code. Lemme tell ya - Cree needs to promote the folks that worked on this (re)design. If you walked into this room and didn't take a moment to examine an individual bulb and its construction, you would never know this wasn't light from a traditional incandescent bulb. It has the same slightly warm hue as an everyday candelabra bulb and none of the heat. They don't buzz (like the LED bulbs in my living room ceiling fan's fixture). They don't hum. They don't sing or dance. They don't flicker. They don't crank out heat. They simply do what I expect - provide pleasing light like I expect from my light fixture without forcing me to wear a welding visor. If used with a dimmer to an even warmer hue, I can imagine they would be quite pleasing in a multi-bulb chandelier-type fixture. I *will* be buying more of these; and with a 10 year satisfaction guarantee, it may be quite a while before I'm forced to buy more once the others are all traded out. Be sure you're getting this redesign from 2016. This is not the older TW-series. Bravo, Cree. Bravo.

Does not last as manufacturer advertises.
I bought as a replacement bulb of same...last bulb lasted less than two years...I hope this one comes closer to functioning for the advertised 10 year mark.

Great Bulb for Some Uses
As a former film director I’m very picky about lighting in my home. I like LED for the energy savings, but dislike the bluish/greenish color temps of most bulbs. Even most warm white (2700°K) bulbs turn rather grey when they’re dimmed, but these bulbs have a beautiful color curve and take on a very incandescent glow at low levels. I’m very pleased with the color and dimming properties. What I don’t like (a complaint with MOST LED lamps) is that the electronics in the bottom part of the bulb prohibit light from shining down from them. For example, these would not be good in a chandelier over a dining room table, because they’d light the ceiling and leave your table in the dark. If they ever fix that, I will really be sold on these and be able to use them in more places.

Outrageous price
After thoroughly researching the bulbs that would match the other two bulbs in the bathroom, these were the only ones I could find that match. The price was outrageous at $9:00 each.

Excellent choice for tulip style iron chandeliers
Excellent choice for a metal chandelier, given the castle like candle light appearance. We replaced 21x 25W bulbs with these 40W for an entry way chandelier, making the chandelier give up much more light. These bulbs are huge when compared with incandescent candelabra bulbs. They are both significant thicker and longer. The thick plastic base does not make these bulbs appear as refined as Cree's latest series introduced October 2016. However, in our case, the base sits in the tulip like lamp shades and cannot be seen. The other massive size of the bulb looks nice in the shades. They may not fit many fixtures with tight spaces such as fans. The dimming works well with our 20 year old Lutron dimmers - there is no flicker and no hum. However, the turn off half way while in comparison Cree's A, PAR, and can retrofits dim all the way down on same dimmer. The deal about these bulbs is that they not just turn dimmer but also more reddish so more you dim them, unlike regular LED bulbs that just turn darker, but keep the same light temperature. 2700K is accurate and in-line with other Cree and Phillips bulbs in appearance.

Don't seem to last 25,000 hours, at least outdoors
I had 3 of these in an outdoor fixture that is covered, but open from the bottom. That would seem to be within the requirements for operating environment. I have them on a timer so they are on from sunset to 11pm, perhaps on average 6 hours a night. They package lists 25,000hr lifetime which means they should last 11 1/2 years at that rate. After about 2-3 years, two of the three bulbs are dead. I feel they shouldn't have died that quickly. Other than that, they're great. Look fine and provide nice warm light.

Not up to Cree standard
Color temperature doesn't change smoothly to warmer color as it is dimmed down. At certain dimming levels it is way to pink or red! In my opinion the Philips works better.

Solid Bulbs
Not much to say. They work and they work well. They ended up being far brighter than I anticipated, so I ended up buying much less bright bulbs recently. That said, that was largely my own fault. Regardless, I used them for a few months and didn't have any issues with their functionality. They seem like a really nice option if you're looking for a very bright bulb that uses very little energy.

FA-BU-LO-SOS
