Aboofx Microwave Flower Press Kit, 6.3" Quick Drying Pressed Flower

I about cried when my first Hoya bloomed and I was successfully able to preserve it in 30 seconds. Mind blown. Must buy, phenomenal gift, so cute & easy.

I was skeptical about how well a microwave flower press could actually work, but this one is amazing!! The color was VERY preserved with the red & yellow canna blooms I pressed. I included one in the traditional press for comparison: it turned brown! With this kit you have to sandwich your flowers between two of the clothes, felt pads, & plastic plates, then wrap it all with the elastic band (ALL included). I microwaved for 10 seconds at a time, & wiped off the plastic plates each time. (It pulls out a lot of moisture!) The instructions say to wet the felt first, I did NOT do this. It seemed counterproductive, & with 10 second intervals there wasn't much risk of burning. The cloths do get stained by the flowers, but so do blotting papers in traditional pressing. These cloth ones should be machine washable, I just wouldn't use fabric softener. You can tell the flowers are done microwaving by rubbing your finger across them lightly; if they feel like paper instead of rubber, they're dried. Some small parts of the flower may still feel kind of rubbery, so I moved mine into a traditional press for a couple days to continue drying & not risk burning them. After you have finished microwaving them, let them COOL on the cloth before trying to remove. I ended up tearing my first batch because I couldn't get them off. If they have completely cooled, they come right off!

This flower press is easy to use and works wonderfully. I use it to dry flowers before framing them.

Pros: Saves money on buying dried flowers. Saves time on drying your own flowers. Cons: Small surface. Standing at the microwave all day doing 15 second intervals of heating with about a minute of cooling. There's a learning curve and risk of ruining flowers. My experience : I wanted to dry some funeral flowers to put into craft projects as gifts for the family. I needed to dry the flowers before flying home. In theory this sounds great, but I really didn't realize how long this process would actually take. There's a small surface, so you can't dry a lot of flowers at once. You have to let them cool before microwaving again. I noticed if I did longer times, my flowers would turn brown. So I ended up with 15 seconds at 20% power. But even then, some still turn brown. I still haven't figured out the sweet spot for my microwave, even after spending HOURS each day for about a week. It's also hard to tell when they're done, so I put them between paper towels and let them sit a few weeks just to be sure. Lastly, at some point my cloth dried out and I didn't notice. The cloth and flower started a tiny fire in the microwave. Luckily I was doing 15 second intervals, so it didn't get out of hand and only caused minimal damage to the cloth and padding. Final thoughts: This saves time of you have specific flowers you want to dry and you need them fast. It saves money if you can't afford to buy dried flowers. However, if you have the time, it's better to dry them the old fashioned way. If you have money, it's better to buy them. In those instances such as mine when you need something specific dried right away, this is a great option.

Took awhile to figure out best times to microwave. Plastic warped after a few times. Cloth stained quickly & caused discoloration on flowers that were dried after original staining. While the plastic warped; it did not crack & is still usable. Elastic band works great to hold pieces together after many times heating. Wool pieces have held up well.

This is a good idea if you don't want yo wait months for the traditional pressing method. But, it also takes some time to learn not to fry your flowers. I realized not to practice on a gorgeous flower that I only had one. I'm getting better. The kit has good instructions and is priced well.

I was surprised at how well this worked! It was very easy to use and super fast. I got this to make pressed flower bookmarks while we were at our cabin, and it was a hit. I’m still trying to figure out how to press flowers with super thin petals because they are so delicate that I broke them trying to take them out, however, most of the flowers and leave pressed and dried perfectly! The greenery presses FLAWLESSLY. It does smell badly a bit when you are “cooking” them… but it didn’t hinder the process. I forgot to take photos, but will try to add some later. It is a perfect size and would be good for all ages.

What a cool device! You definitely have to be careful to not overdo the timing, but the directions are good, easy to clean and easy to use. I was very into this last fall for drying leaves but preserving vibrant colors. I swear some of them became more vibrant when I used this. I have not gotten around to trying out flowers yet. It is small which is nice for storage, but means you are limited in how many you can do at once, but I think that is ultimately for the best because if it were bigger it might be hard to get consistency across a single microwave.

Perfect to dry my fresh "flat" leaves for resin projects! The following sequence was used for these leaves: -lightly spritzed both felt pads with water only once at begining of sequence -between each burst in the microwave, placed lining cloth on cool counter - 1st burst 30 seconds, rest 30 seconds - 2nd burst 20 seconds, rest 30 seconds - 3rd burst 15 seconds, rest 30 seconds - 4th burst 10 seconds, rest 30 seconds - 5th burst 5 seconds, rested a few hours before using in resin My review will be updated with fresh not so flat flowers this summer! It worked for me and am very pleased with the results! :)

とても良い。熱処理することで虫の駆除ができて早く綺麗にできる。 同時に押し花キットを買ったのですが花束から押し花にしたのですがそちらは小さな虫が出てきていて 先にレンジでこの商品で熱処理してから押し花キットに挟むと保存もできるし良いなと思い 沢山作ることができました。お勧めできます。ただもう少し大きいか二段になっているものを買うと効率的だったかなとも思いました。お値段が結構するので躊躇しましたが虫は嫌なので熱処理できる点はとても嬉しいです。

I have never heard of a microwave flower press so I was very sceptical but was keen to give it a go. There is definitely some trial and error. I couldnt get the hang of larger flowers and ended up scorching the fabric and felt. However, for individual petals and smaller flowers this was fantastic. It did take longer than I was expecting but the results were worth it. The petals kept their vibrant colours and were more than worth the effort.
