The Garmin name is worth the money. Great camera. Very small size, is completely hidden behind rearview mirror. But the splitter so you can plug it directly in to the power supply on the back of your mirror, then you will have no visible wires and it powers on and off with your ignition. However, you can wire directly if you would like it to record even while parked. Quality of the video is great. The voice commands are a very nice added feature. The app works great as well. Make sure you get the correct SD card. Easy to install, runs without thinking and you can just tell it to save video or take a photo and it listens to you.

My front/rear pill box ojocam has been flaky on me ever since I've had it, not always recording correctly. I was looking for a replacement that was similar in size and this garmin dash cam is the closest I could find in a decent price range. My only real complaint about this camera is the app and how finicky it is trying to connect to the cameras through it. I bought 2, so I had to do it twice. Not a big deal to not be able to view the footage through the app as if something did happen, I would most likely just pop the SD card and view on a laptop anyway. The picture quality is very good for the price point and size of the device. If you are familiar with wiring things up in a vehicle to the fuse box, installation is pretty straight forward. I love that it beeps everytime my truck starts so I know that both cameras are powered on and in a "record" state(I think you can disable this but I'm not sure since I wanted them to beep). Overall, a great product for the price.

I really like this camera. Bought it for my wife's car a year ago. No complaints at all. She installed the Garmin Drive app on her i-Phone and can now look at her videos or save them if she witnessed or had an accident.

​I purchased the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 specifically because I wanted a highly discreet camera, and it absolutely delivers on that front. The camera is very small and is very discreet; once installed, it tucks neatly behind the rearview mirror, practically invisible from the driver’s seat and barely noticeable from the exterior. It looks great—exactly what I wanted. ​The installation was easy. I mounted it quickly and was able to easily tuck the wiring into the headliner and trim of my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, making for a professional and clean setup. It integrated perfectly right next to the EyeSight system without issue. ​The app and the interface is simple, which is great for overall functionality, but it took me a little while to get used to the flow of settings and file retrieval. Once you learn where everything is, it’s fine, but expect a short learning curve when initially syncing and adjusting settings.

I have two of these cameras, and I have been using them for a couple of years. I initially chose them for their cloud capabilities, expecting better performance than a regular, cheaper camera; however, they failed to deliver on that front. The cameras only connect to my home Wi-Fi, and the upload function rarely works properly. The image quality is also quite low. Additionally, the app is poorly designed, with connection issues occurring every time I use it. One of the cameras started displaying SD card error messages, and I swapped the card several times with no improvement. Now, it is stuck in firmware update mode, and I am unable to do anything to fix it—even a hard reset doesn’t work. I am very disappointed with this camera, and I would advise against wasting your money on it.

I’ve used this product for many years and Even though there are newer versions I still only buy and recommend the 2 mini because of how small and simple it is, only one button on the back so if anything goes wrong your not searching for the record button but it also already has a good auto record with the app being free you can set up the sensitivity for When to record, This has saved me many times during insurance claims.

I was looking for a dash cam that is not obvious and large in front of my sight and easy to use then decided to try this Garmin mini 2(at first I bought Garmin Mini then found out that Garmin Mini 2 has voice activation and not too different in price) we liked it so much and bought two more then bought one more to put on every vehicle we have. This camera has some kind of sensor that can detects motion or something because one time I was on a Freeway the car in front of me stopped very suddenly so I pressed the sudden brake as well then the camera started to record automatically; how smart! The customer service rep is very helpful as well. I always trust Garmin and the app that control this camera(Garmin Drive) is easy to use. I recommended to all my friends because I think everyone think about getting one but there are too many choices and get overwhelmed. Here is the one to get. Don’t forget to buy a micro SD card to insert in the camera. I bought Amazon brand SD card at first but the customer service rep said they are not compatible so I got Samsung Pro Plus series. Harming has a list of SD cards that are compatible. Non-compatible ones work for a while but it will start acting strange or stop I was told.

It took a bit of work to get this working on my Garmin Drive app. I had to find troubleshooting instructions online and follow them exactly. When you have Wireless CarPlay in your vehicle, you have to do some extra work to disable that functionality first. The camera itself is discrete but I wish there was a way to turn the Wifi on it on/off so it wouldn’t cause occasional signal issues in your vehicle.

After hours of research I thought the Garmin Mini 2 dash cam would be the bee's knees but sadly I was unable to hook up to the app and unable to use the camera! I did hear and read reviews about the app having some downfalls so hopefully Garmin will be able to fix it !

My only real complaint is that the 6 inch wire has the micro usb in the wrong direction, that's why I deducted a star. I had to use the super long wire for a 4 inch run. I had no issues getting the app to work. The red record light is a bit intense in your face when driving at night, but I just put some black sharpie over top of it to dim it. I didn't find the adhiesve to be very good so I replaced it with 2 way Gorilla tape, now it's rock solid.
