slides out to fit the window opening and works like a dream
I needed to vent a new dryer I purchased out of a window, I found this product and after using it for two months I find it review worthy. This vent is heavy duty, slides out to fit the window opening and works like a dream, when I have to dry a load of laundry I lift up the window screen and secure it with a clothes pin, put the vent that's attached to a flexible dryer hose into the window, close the window to the top of the vent and turn the dryer on and remove it when I'm done, the vent is made so well I expect it will last for years. I just wish it didn't cost so much but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one as a gift for someone or recommend it as a great alternative to drilling a permanent vent opening thru a wall. Update; Well it finally happened I put wet clothes into the dryer and lifted the vent to put into the window, my hands were wet and the vent slipped out of my hands falling approximately 40 inches to the tile floor after bouncing off my dryer, the dryer has a small scratch and the tile has a small dent in it but the vent suffered no damage at all and that my fellow reviewers is how well this vent is made.

Really a well-made, well-thought-out product
Wasn't sure what to expect, as the photos just look like cheesy galvanized sheet metal, but the mfg did a thorough job on this product. The edges are almost all folded back on themselves for extra strength and rigidity, plus it eliminates most of the potentially sharp edges. It's a solid, heavy-duty item. Both ends slide out to fit the window frame, which, if you're not using the full length, gives you some flexibility on where you place the vent opening in the window opening, in case it matters. Installation was a breeze, the hardest part being crawling in behind shrubbery to remove the window screen, which on my windows need to be removed from outside. It fits snug and solid, although I'll probably seal the top with a strip of weatherstripping to fill the tiny spaces bugs could get in. It would have been nice to have a 36" strip of sticky-back foam weather strip included, for the price, but no such luck, meaning a trip to Home Depot. And that's maybe the only downside of the product - the price. It's a bit steep, but since I've found nothing similar in style or quality, they get to do that! I had the option of not paying it, of course, and trying something else, but it turns out I'm very happy with my purchase. A well-made product that does its job effectively - can't ask for more than that!

Value for Money and Fits Well
Moved washer and dryer from the basement to a 2nd floor bedroom which was converted into a laundry room in 2021. Have been using an indoor dryer vent kit (bucket type with water in it) in combination with ceiling exhaust vent, dehumidifier, and opening a window. Dryer use generates so much humidity that wood trim in the room becomes wet very quickly especially if the measures mentioned previously are not done. Contemplated having a hole bored in the side of the house to vent the dryer outdoors. Relative mentioned that dryer vents exist which can be placed in a window. Compared features of others and selected Vent Works because of the material and ease of taking it in and out of the window. Plan on leaving it installed throughout most of the year except for Winter when it will be taken in and out. Used for 1st time today, and thought that it would eliminate the need for the dehumidifier. Had dryer on a few minutes when a stand alone guage showed humidity 67% and climbing so then the dehumidifier was turned on. Oh well I'm still impressed with the vent even if it doesn't eliminate the need for the dehumidifier. It did keep the temp in the room from rising as high as it used to go when not venting out of the window. I highly recommend this Vent Works vent.

FANTASTIC solution to my dryer vent issue!!
For 2 years I wanted a dryer for my condo but I am not allowed to cut a hole for a vent. I am allergic to everything so I didn't want to vent a dryer indoors, thinking that the moisture, heat and small particles of lint being vented indoors would make me react. So, for 2 years I researched and never came across the window vent solution! I stumbled across it by mistake and immediately bought this. I bought the NewAir Portable Dryer 3.6 Cubic Feet MiniDryer36W dyer, this window vent, a hose made for dyers (the others are flammable) and silver dryer tape. Because this takes a 4 inch hose but the dryer takes a 3 inch hose, I also had to buy an adapter that would allow me to connect a 4 inch hose to both. It works GREAT!!! The best part is that i can stick it in the window when I am using it and take it out when I am not using it...so no one can say anything about me leaving anything permanent in the window. I also want to say that I am not handy AT ALL. And I was able to set everything up within minutes. it is really good quality also. I am extremely happy with this!!

Solid Steel Made in the U.S.A.
Very high quality and tough, with helpful insulation suggestions, and a strong spring on the flapper vent cover that actually allows it to open and close again, unlike most of the other cheaply made garbage that isn't manufactured to such high quality standards.

Looks like good quality..
Have not installed it yet, but it looks like it should work and hold up. Thank you for sending it to me timely.

Perfect Solution for Our New Laundry Room in a 100 Year Old House
This thing is a lifesaver! It took me some wrangling to make it work perfectly for us, so here's the rundown on how we have ours all set up. I didn't want to cut a hole in the exterior wall of our house to vent from our new first floor laundry room, so I was thrilled to find this expandable window vent- it's sturdy metal and slid right in to the window frame in five seconds. It came with a screen cover for the hole to the outside, which I wanted to prevent any critters from outside crawling up into the vent. Originally, I had a metal clip and screw-on dryer hose attached, but because of the screen, dryer lint can back up there every few loads (especially since we have pets and the fur that brings). It was kind of a pain to unclip the hose every time, until I picked up a snap-on hose kit (this one is the STV-M Dryer Duct Connector - DIY Easy Dryer Vent Hookup Kit by Ziggurat, also from from Amazon). Now, every other load or so, I easily slide the plastic connector off, remove the lint and pop it right back into place in seconds. We live in a winter wonderland, so I also bought some white weather-stripping insulation tape to place around the edges in the window to keep any drafts from sneaking in around the vent (old wooden window frames, so it also helps give it an even pad to cling to all the way around in the window). Absolutely perfect for our old house with no destruction, and I'll never have to do laundry in a basement ever again. I think this vent will last us a long time and I hope they keep making them forever. Also, we had a repair guy in to balance our washer and it completely blew his mind- he thought it was the neatest dryer set-up he'd ever seen.

Best Window Vent You’ll ever find
I moved into a townhouse where you can have an “apartment” dryer (no gas). Well, I had built a card board cover for the window and made a hole to run the duct and it lasted about 8 months. I was being too cheap to buy this. Finally I gave in and what a difference. I think my homemade vent system was allowing too much outside air into my dryer causing longer drying times. When I installed this vent, my dryer was drying a lot faster and when not in use the cold wasn’t seeping into the dryer or into my home. I sealed the edges with aluminum tape and there are no drafts. I’m beyond pleased with how perfectly it fits my window and how awesome it works. I have a little dryer and it has enough force to open the flapping door. Great product! Thank you.
