The Good Old Naughty Days

Very nice copies of 1920s pornography films. This is just plain old porno movies done in the early part of last century and, of course, not everybody's cup of tea. They are actually restored to very watchable condition and at least have some story lines but most of the inter-titles are in French (but of course). There is a very well done cartoon (by a professional studio not named) that is very funny and just plain smutty. A good disc for film students, social historians and lovers of porn.

We liked this collection, although it doesn't hold the attention for long and is fun to watch in parts. As others have said, it's surprising only in the way that "nothing has changed." But what is surprising and fun about this collection is how they seem to be movies made by friends having sex together and having a good time doing it. It's silly fun, and quite explicit. A wonderful collection.

Maybe I'm more of a prude than I thought, but this is far more graphic than I expected it to be. I thought it would just be some titillating, nudge-nudge-wink-wink glimpses of thigh and breast here and there, but no-- it's the whole enchilada, complete with money shots. As one who is interested in 1920s films, it at least makes a good curio item and provides a little time capsule of the underbelly of French "Jazz Age" culture. There is one sequence with a dog, however, that I thought went way over the top. Wouldn't that be considered animal abuse in today's society?

As I continued my search for all things Marian, her other uplifting coming of age films allowed me to escape to a more civilized time, and soon I found myself arranging art around Marian and her lookalikes, which then led to looking into stag films of the era.The Good Old Naughty Days DVD looked like the sexy but innocent art that interested me, and the film that was featured on the cover was the type of art that I expected the whole DVD to be about. I have never desired pornography, which is any sexual relations on film as most of the rest of this DVD is, but rather I was interested in sexy even nude women without any portrayed sex, as Trilby says, "for the interests of art".If you are like minded about what type of "good old days" sexiness that you would like to see, then I recommend to you the circa 60 minute long Forbidden Cinema DVDs that are currently $5.98 each for Prime members. If memory serves, Forbidden Cinema is longer than Good Old Naughty Days and cheaper than Naughty's $24.99 with Prime. After enjoying my Marian escapist period to the fullest, I have continued to look for similarly beautiful stars right up to the present, enjoying each of them to the fullest, while continuing to do all that I can to honor God and help my fellow man! I continue to dream of achieving young single female friends that are A.I.M.S. The CD had a lot of problems, and I had to returned this. I couldn't watch all the sections at all.

Whenever we think about our grand parents, or great grand parents times, or even before, we tend to imagine those times as very prude and innocent, with a very Victorian set of mind. But, for the most part, I think that once we dish the formal gatherings, we are pretty much mistaken, and this is a great example of such fact. Do you think the fantasy of a menage a trois is an invention of our generation? Think again.Now, if I found this collection so interesting, why did I gave it four stars instead of five? Well, probably because of modern sensibility. I was unable to watch the whole thing at once. As porn in our day and age has gone main stream, we are used to audio on it, and other unspoken elements that allow you to watch the "action" and have a time to relax before the next steamy scene. I, for one, was unable to watch more than 30 minutes of this collection at a time. It gets old after a while, and you have to let it rest for a couple of days before going back to it.But all and all, if you like the idea of having this collection, more from the collectors point of view, it is a good item to acquire.
