Great for Texas Heat
I have been using this grass seed bag for about 2 years, and I love it. I replant my yard every time I get patches, and this stuff works like magic. The color is easy on the grass and will not distract or make your yard ugly if you use this in the open. The Bag is perfect for medium yards, so it's a great buy for your money. The instructions were easy to read and understand, so my kids helped me too. Germination was not a big deal. Just do what the bag says and watch your yard look beautiful. The grass will start to grow if you water it right in about 1 week.

From Burnt Patches to 'Angry Green' Glory—This Stuff Works!
This stuff is absolute magic for a patchy lawn! When I moved into my place last year, the yard was full of big, burnt-out patches. I used this to repair the damage after a hard winter, and waking up this spring, the transformation is incredible. My grass is growing in perfectly with zero burn spots in sight. I just bought another bag to give a few more areas some extra love, and you can already see exactly where I dropped the seed. The new growth is 'angry' green—so healthy, rich, and thick. I’ve used this product many times now, and the results are always amazing. Pro Tip: If you want these results, you have to make sure you water it! If you put in the work, this product will do wonders for your lawn. I’d suggest it to anyone looking to fix their yard.

Takes time, not instant
Germinates in about 6-8 days, keep watered and be tenacious for a green yard. I say treat your grass just like you do teeth, only take care of what you want to keep.

Nothing grew. 4.8 lbs of total grass seed in 40 lbs bag
I purchased this hoping it would fill in some bare spots and areas that were thin. I had first dethatched my lawn and then scarified it as well preparing the soil as best I could for the seed. I had delivered from a landscaping company their best lawn soil mixture. I purchased a lawn leveling rake so I could level the lawn from some low spots. I went ahead planted the seed with the fresh soil and leveled the lawn. Kept it watered and in over a month now zero nothing not a blade of grass. I had only used 1/2 of the bag because the area I was covering was around 1000 sq feet and the bag says up to 4000 sq feet so I was planning on reseeding in the fall. It’s laughable to think 4.8 lbs of grass seed will cover 4000 sq feet of lawn when on average they recommend 4-7 lbs per 1000 sq feet for over seeding. So I wasn’t even using half of the recommender area and half the bag so I was well covered. So after a couple weeks I decided I would try a old trick of putting grass seed in my wheelbarrow and grow it under optimum conditions. I went and purchased SCOTTS LAWN SOIL FOR SEED. Keep it in the family I thought. Can’t blame the soil If it’s their own I went and mixed up a co side table amount of the product with the soil In my wheelbarrow. I watered it and covered it and put in my shed. I monitored it every day and then I decided to bring it out in the sun when the temps went up. It was easy to keep it moist. I have a raised bed vegetable garden a Hosta garden so I am an avid gardener. I love plants and gardening. I have Window boxes I grow flowers in every year so I’m not some rookie who doesn’t understand how grass grows. Grass needs warmth, moisture and direct contact with soil. That’s it the seed will do the rest as it has all it needs to sprout. Keep it moist warm and in contact with soil. Why the wheelbarrow is a great place to jump start seeds. It’s been 18 days and not a single blade of grass. This seems almost impossible unless this bad had no grass seed in it at all. Idk but I looked on the bag and here is what’s included. 3.68% Alloy Perennial Ryegrass 3.62% Vision Perennial Ryegrass 1.85% Bolster Chewings Fescue 1.75% Boreal Creeping Fescue .61% Starr Kentucky Bluegrass .61% Dauntless Kentucky Bluegrass Other ingredients: 87.81% Inert Matter .06% Other Crop Seed .01% Weed Seed This comes to 12.1% Seed 4.8lbs 87.88% Inert Matter 35.15 lbs Total 40lbs So they expect us to believe 4.8 lbs of grass seed can fill in your lawn of 4000 sq feet? And if I called and asked them how much grass seed would I need for 1000sq feet I would be told 4-7 lbs to overseed it. So in this bag they put in little seed and tell you it covers 4000sq feet but if you buy straight grass seed you need as much as 7 lbs for 1000 sq feet? Something isn’t right. So I am done with Scott’s grass seed. There so called guarantee. Guaranteed you will look to another company for your lawn care products after using ours.
