BK01 Bluetooth Car Receiver

This is the best Bluetooth receiver I have tried yet! I love that it automatically connects to my phone (with Bluetooth turned on) when I turn on my vehicle, and it turns off with the vehicle. The sound is way better than my last one. I was surprised that I could set the volume to half of the level I could with my old one. Very easy to use and set up. When I talk to people on the phone, they say they can't hear me as loudly, but I've had the exact experience with every single Bluetooth device. But I guess it sounds clear enough, because I can still have conversations without issue.The beep that everyone talks about isn't that loud or annoying, in my opinion. I actually like it because it let's me know when it connects to my phone, and when it turns off if my phone isn't connected. I don't find it to be a problem at all.It's definitely true about the phone volume vs music. You can adjust the levels in your phone's volume settings. I tried it, but I found I still had to turn my car's volume up much more when listening to music. So I just deal with the difference by adjusting the car volume when I'm on a call. Slightly annoying, but you don't always get what you want!It's a little bit of a bummer with the cords, but it doesn't bother me. Just figure out where you want it, and the best way to place the cords. I placed my receiver on the side of my ceiling compartment (where sunglasses go). I have a phone holder on my dash. So I just have the cord going behind my phone holder. The other portion of cords stay out of my way well enough. I guess it will depend on each vehicle and personal preference on where you want to place the receiver. If it's a bit awkward, I suggest command hooks to keep the cords out of the way.The magnets are indeed pretty weak. So if you knock into the cord, it will fall. One could probably super glue stronger (thin) magnets over the existing magnets. It doesn't really bother me, though. I do like that I can pull the receiver off of the base, because I can attach it to my shirt when I'm talking on the phone, just to have the microphone closer. Then I can just place it back when I'm done.Overall, this is a great product. It does the job I want it to do, and it does it seamlessly (for the most part). I never have connection issues. It's the next best thing to having built- in Bluetooth.BUY IT!!!!

First off I didn't get this for free, like some others. I paid the full $24,99Didn't want to go with the FM transmitters since I did not want to deal with FM tuning and noise, hiss etc and because I have an aux+charger in the arm rest. IF you don't have aux input you cannot use this thing.Recently bought a used Subaru Outback 2010 with no BT. But it did have an aux and charger in the arm rest. I was looking at a lot of other models that are cheaper, more expensive. Bought this because one of the reoccurring complaints with many BT car kits in the Amazon and Youtube reviews is the noise that comes from the car motor and the need for a ground loop isolator. I looked at the loop isolators separately and they cost around $5-$7 so assuming I would have the same problem many others did I chose this item which had the best value as a combo that also had BT version 4.1. I just wanted to assume 4.1 would be better at handling 2 phones simultaneously connected to the unit.I will not give a detailed explanation on how to install since it is pretty straight forward but here are some notes from last weekend:1- Connects to 2 phones with ease and delivers calls from both and muting music if on one phone to allow other phone to ring through the BT. I needed this since I have a company phone and personal2- Call quality is good. Pestered my wife who swears she could hear me perfectly on my many trial calls. It was clear with both one and 2 phones connected.3- Music quality is GREAT. No motor sound even when music paused in my 2010 Outback.4- There were some complaints about other units not having an on/off button. Long press the phone icon and this thing turns off and long press again it turns on.5- All 12v ports on my car turn off when car is off. Upon first entry into my car and turning the ignition and waiting for the engine lights to turn off, the phone pairs automatically. But further turning on ignition to start the car turns off the Bluetooth unit. I was worried I would have to pull the charger out and place it back to restart every time I entered the car. No need. Just press the blue phone icon on the unit and it turns on and pairs. So essentially this means every time I drive I have to turn the unit on, but I don't have to pull it off the charger.6- My Moto X has a hands free "Hello Google" option that I turned on. Now I can tell the car to "navigate me to the nearest Dairy Queen". This works without long pressing the FW button which also turns this function (Siri I guess for iphones) on but sometimes it doesn't work without pressing and sometimes it doesn't work at all. I think this is more due to my phone being old, rather than the function on the unit.7- All the FF and RW buttons etc work fine.8- Also skyped parents and no complaints there either.9- Pretty long cables. After where aux and charger ends Y split on the cable the aux end (may be the charger end though) is even longer. I set the magnet a little higher than my knee level on the dash board and have more than half the cables in the arm rest unused. Be careful with some units that have very short cables.Apart from that a BT car unit is a pretty basic thing but with an important function, for me at least. I go on long business trips and sometimes drive for 10-15 hours and I need all of these to work. It looks like it will do the job. Only been 2-3 days so I don't know if the thing will last. We'll see. Will update if it craps out on me.

I loved this thing when I got it because I upgraded from one of the FM radio transmitter adapters. This is WAY better sound quality, assuming you have a 3.5 mm aux cable port to plug into. It was a nice touch for them to include the 3.5 mm (heaphone) cable and a charging adapter. All this stuff is pretty cheap, but it works fine, especially for the cost.One thing I miss is the "multiple phones can connect at the same time" feature I have in the other cheap one I bought at Ali Express (Joyroom Bluetooth 5.3 Car Adapter Enhanced Dual Mics ENC Noise Cancellation 3.5mm AUX Adapter Bluetooth Wireless Receiver).The built in mic is sufficient, though not amazing. Not any worse than the built in mic in my 2012 car. The buttons are easy to use, though I don't have a need to move around the control dongle, so I really should have just stuck the thing to the dash instead of to the included magnet. No issues connecting or any other issues so far, months later.

WOW! Ok, rarely have I ordered a product that was exactly what the manufacturer and reviewers said it was and did everything exactly as I had hoped with no setup problems or installation issues. This is one of those rare items (a tool really) that is everything I hoped it would be. When I received it today, I checked all the parts out, played around with the location I wanted to mount the BK01 in my car and then paired it to both of my cell phones. The sound I heard through my car speakers using Pandora and Amazon Music was INCREDIBLE. Much better than when I was using an aux-in audio able to listen to my music through my phone...and MUCH LOUDER. In fact, with my phone at full volume, I found that a low volume setting on my car stereo was the "right" volume level for my ears. Of course, if I wanted to rock it out, there was plenty of volume left for that. The controls on the BK01 worked as advertised which will come in handy. No more having to reach for my phone, unlock it and then use the touch controls on my Galaxy S7 to pause or stop my streaming music. The best part was that by using my BT settings on my phone for the BK01 connection, I set it to only transmit music from my phone, not my phone calls. My phone is capable of pairing to two devices at the same time. So, it's still connected to my car's BT, which enables me to use my car for phone calls and the BK01 for streaming music. This still allows me to use my phone book, which is stored in my vehicle for making voice-activated calls. For those wondering, when I receive or make a phone call, the BK01 pauses my music until the call is over and then automatically resumes my music. The only problem I found was that I must turn my car volume up when making BT calls via my car so I can hear the person on the other end. When the music resumes, it is way too loud. This is no fault of the BK01, it's just a matter of knowing how the two systems operate and getting accustomed to turning the car volume back down after the phone call ends. Regarding installation, take some time to work out how you are going to lay out the wires from your mounting location (typically on the dashboard) and your lighter (or USB port if you have one) and your audio in jack. I was able to route the wires under my center console except for a short run up from the bottom of the console into my center console compartment where my audio jack and aux power port are located. I had just enough wire on the usb connector (which is a few inches shorter than the 3.5 mm jack line) to get it there. It's not an "invisible" installation but you have to be looking for it to see it. Finally, one of the things that really sold me on this unit was the auto-power off/auto power on with the cigarette lighter. Many of the other receivers either don't do this or have a battery so they stay on when the ignition is shut off. This feature, along with auto pairing with the last device it was connected to (as long as the BT on that device is on), makes it almost as good as having the technology built into the car. I noticed that when I turn the ignition off, my Galaxy S7 would pause the music if I was streaming Pandora. However, my Motorola Droid wpuld switch over and continue to play Pandora through my phone. Again, this is a phone issue, not an issue with the BK01. So, all-in-all, I can't say enough good things about this device. For my 2011 Hyundai Genesis, which did not come with BT for audio connections, this is the almost perfect, low-cost, solution. I hope this review helps you.....

I've been using this for a few days now and it has really exceeded my initial expectations. It checks all the boxes, and certainly beats spending a ton of money on a Bluetooth enabled head unit. Here are the things I like most about it:Design - I ended up connecting mine in the console and running it under the plastic, so there is only a tiny amount of visible wiring (see photo). There is a reasonable amount of length on the cable, so this was no trouble. The button controller is tiny, and the magnetic mounting plate holds it in place.Audio quality - It sounds fantastic, much better than I expected, with very little delay. Because it's Bluetooth, and I don't fully understand how big of a part the adapter plays in overall quality (vs. connected device and car's speakers), I don't know whether everyone will have the same results, but from my experience, it sounds surprisingly good.Features - The microphone and buttons are welcome additions. Not only can you skip tracks without looking at your phone, but you can also trigger Google Assistant or Siri by long pressing the next track button. And people on the other end of my phone calls have told me they can hear me clearly. While diving, my phone sits on a magnetic vent mount, and in the past, air coming out of the vent has caused interference with the microphone. But now that I'm using a different microphone in a different location, that problem is gone.Connection - Another thing that surprises me is how fast it connects. I turn the car on and about 2 seconds later I'm good to go. Faster than most cars I've driven with Bluetooth built in. I have not had any problems with it disconnecting or failing to connect when I start the car.My setup - The Android Auto app is set to launch on my phone when connecting to this adapter. Using "Routines" (part of Samsung's Good Lock 2018 app), I've configured the screen to unlock, and the most recently played music track to resume, every time Android Auto is launched. The end result is that when I turn on the car, Android Auto pops up and music starts playing. This won't happen until my phone is out of my pocket, and when I turn the car off, the phone returns to its normal state. It's basically like having an Android Auto head unit (with a slightly smaller screen) that connects wirelessly. If you have a non-Samsung Android device, this setup could probably be replicated with something like Tasker.Summary - This is a very well-designed product at a great price. Android Auto head units are a few hundred bucks on the lower end, and far more if you want to forgo the USB connection. This accomplishes almost the same thing (and is even better in some ways) at a fraction of the cost. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an aftermarket Bluetooth solution.

I think this is the perfect solution for installing Bluetooth on a car that doesn't have it, as long as you don't mind the wired connections of the receiver.My favorite thing: it disconnects and turns off automatically when the car is turned off! Other devices I tried before remain on when you turn off the car, which would cause my phone to remain connected even when in my house due to the large range, and would often connect without warning while in my house without my knowing and was a general nuisance. Also not sure about battery drain on the car if the car sat a long period of time. This device fixes those problems!Other positives:-long cables that facilitate any car setup you need, allowing me to use power from my rear power outlet and leaving the front seat outlet available.-The grounding device ensures there isn't any annoying static hissing noise through the speakers when it's not playing audio.-Mic works fine for calls and people have reported they can hear me fine while I'm driving. The connection is also quick and my phone automatically pairs with it when I start the car, unlike other devices I've tried that promised immediately connection but required a manual connection almost every time.-I'm a big music guy, not a full audiophile, but I can't detect any loss of quality compared to other Bluetooth connections.-buttons work well. Sticker mount included so you can stick the control device wherever you need.Only negative may be that the extra grounding dongle and excess cable length may be an issue if you are working with a very small space. It also requires cable connections, and I believe it also requires a constant power source. You may prefer the clean look of a dongle that plugs directly in the aux port and would need to be charged occasionally. I want to just be able to hop in the car and start playing, which this does perfectly, I never have to worry about the charging and I've hidden the excess cable.I had to scroll through several "top rated" or "best selling" devices to find this one, but I genuinely think it's way better than the other options on Amazon and it's well worth the extra ten bucks or so. It's completely transparent in how it operates, and it's as if the car just came from the factory with Bluetooth.

While overall I like the design of this product, I have run into two major flaws with it, which are specific to my usage but may apply to others as well. I often use Siri or dictation on my iPhone 6s to respond to text messages while I'm driving. When there is no Bluetooth device connected, or there is a Bluetooth speaker without a microphone connected, dictation or Siri start listening right away. However, when this device is connected, there is a few second delay before it starts listening. Since I can't hear the beep that acknowledges that the phone has started listening over the road noise, this is quite frustrating.The second issue I have encountered, also related to dictation, is that the microphone doesn't pick up my speech as well as the built-in microphone, even when the Bluetooth microphone is closer than my phone. It makes my already somewhat cryptic dictated messages even worse. However, in a test call, the person on the other end said the audio sounded good.Finally, it is prone to feedback from the car's speakers. As a lefty, I originally mounted it to the left of my steering wheel, but it picked up too much of the call audio from the speaker in the door and caused feedback. Once I moved it to the right of the wheel the issue went away.I like the controls for playing/pausing and skipping tracks, though I wished the center button was able to activate Siri. I discovered by accident that double clicking the center button redials your last call, and triple clicking redials and immediately hangs up. Somewhat odd but not a problem once you know that.Overall, it's a clever idea and a well-done product, though the delay issue is very frustrating, and the microphone could stand to be better.

If you have an older vehicle with a 3.5mm aux input then this is absolutely the product you want. Avoid any of those that transmit to your FM radio frequencies. You'll constantly be messing with your tunings and it just won't work well. If one of my kids drives my car and connects to it, it sometimes requires me to go in and tell it to reconnect, but if I'm the only one driving it, it connects near instantaneously. It connects far faster than factory car radios (at least in my experience with newer Honda radios) and the sound quality is really good. It also comes with a dual port adapter so that if you need to connect a cable for charging your phone, you're able to do so.As far as call quality, the people I've asked are always able to hear me clearly, and only once have I had to transfer to my phone due to apparent unintelligibility. I would absolutely not hesitate to buy this product again if needed to modernize the radio in a vehicle.For music playback, most radio streaming services have an auto resume feature that allows them to start playing again once bluetooth is connected. This is typically a feature in standalone music players as well, if you buy or own your music library. Quality is good if your source material is good. I use Amazon Music Unlimited (non-HD) and there is some sketchy quality in older, more obscure, rock albums. I have some albums I have ripped in flac format (lossless CD quality) and they sound as good as you can get through car speakers.TL;DR - this is a high quality adapter that is well worth the price of admission. I'm just coming up on a year of ownership and it has been amazing. It connects very quickly, sounds good, and works great for phone calls.

Le micro fonctionne super bien, les interlocuteurs n'entendent pas du tout les bruits de fond et entendent même mieux qu'avec une oreillette d'origine (iPhone). Le son dans la radio est nickel aussi, la facilité d'installation top (juste prévoir pour faire passer le fil ou l'attacher si on a une voiture à vitesse). Reconnaissance immédiate et automatique de l'appareil connecté bluetooth (pas besoin de le reconnecter à chaque fois). Vraiment RAVIE du produit !Le seul bémol serait que pour utiliser le kit main libre, la radio doit être mise en "aux" donc on ne sait pas écouter la radio et recevoir un appel. Mais si le gsm est mis à vue, lorsqu'il sonne, l'écran s'allume et il suffit de basculer sur le mode "aux"...

Con este dispositivo he conseguido que la radio de mi coche tenga capacidad bluetooth. Por el precio que tiene es una solución muy recomendable. Las características/ventajas que proporciona son:- Emparejamiento sencillo. Una vez realizado, al dar el contacto se establece la conexión con el móvil. Caso de que no suceda, basta con pulsar la tecla multifunción (la del icono del teléfono) y se establece inmediatamente. El emparejamiento se evidencia por un sonido que emite y por el led azul del panel- Dispositivo de pequeño tamaño que puede colocarse en el lugar que nos sea más cómodo, aunque en el manual se recomiendan una serie de ubicaciones para optimizar la recepción del micro.- Uno de los usos es la reproducción de música, podcasts, etc. desde el móvil, escuchándose por los altavoces del coche. Ya podemos escuchar Spotify en nuestro coche sin problemas y con buena calidad- Permite su uso como manos libres al disponer de un micrófono. La llamada se escucha igualmente por los altavoces del coche. Las pruebas que he hecho son satisfactorias pudiendo oir bien al que llama y siendo escuchado sin problemas- Los botones del panel de control permiten descolgar la llamada, enmudecer el micrófono, rellamar e incluso activar el asistente de voz, ya sea Siri en los teléfonos de Apple como Google Now en los Android. Yo he probado el Google Now y le puedo dar instrucciones como "llama a casa" o "ir a casa" y funciona. También permiten cambiar de canciónComo inconveniente destacaría que es muy recomendable adquirir el equipo con el filtro de ruido. Yo lo he comprado sin él y se produce un leve sonido agudo que puede llegar a resultar molesto. Dependerá de cada coche. El filtro está pensado para suprimir ese ruido. Puede adquirirse aparte y es sencillísima su instalación (basta con intercalarlo en la salida jack hacia la toma auxiliar de la radio)En resumen: producto muy recomendable, a muy buen precio y que cumple con todas las espectativas

I had a bit of a strange issue in that my BMW 3 Series (E91) had factory Bluetooth for calls, but was not compatible with music streaming, leaving me using the wired AUX port. There are solutions to incorporate the factory Bluetooth with music streaming and steering wheel controls, such as the GROM or Dension units, but you're talking £170 and £350 respectively.I bought the Besign BK01 in the hope that I could connect to it and my car's Bluetooth simultaneously, streaming music through the BK01 and receiving calls through my car. Sure enough, to my surprise, I was able to do just that. My OnePlus 5T connected to the BK01 with no issues, whilst that was connected I simply connected to my car's Bluetooth. My phone automatically stopped the BK01 receiving the calls and instead diverted them to the car. I thought it was too good to be true, so turned everything off and back on and it all connected up straight away in the same configuration. Safe to say, for 20 quid, I was pretty elated.As for the actual product, though I've not really used it, initial impressions are very good. Pairing was seamless, sound quality seemed very good in the short period I've used it, with no static or loss of bass. As for overall quality, only time will tell!Obviously, the only downside with this solution for those in the same position as me is that you can't use the car's controls for the music (apart from volume, which you can use), but at a fraction of the price of other solutions, I think I'll live with changing tracks on the phone/BK01. For those of you in a similar situation, I must stress that I may be lucky with my car/phone combination allowing me to connect to two devices and split their function, but it's likely that any recent handset with the newer Bluetooth standards will allow this.Hopefully this helps some people in a similar situation!

I've been trying to find a Bluetooth solution for our 2008 Avalon for a while now. Tried FM transmitters and iPhone lightning/headphone splitter cables but nothing really worked well and sounded great....until now. I love this hands-free kit. The included ground loop filter is fantastic and works as advertised. The control puck is small and inobtrusive. There's no glaring blue lights like a lot of Bluetooth devices seem to insist on (I know you're working. I don't need to be blinded while you're on!). The pairing is drop dead simple as the device is instantly in pairing mode if a connected phone isn't nearby and the power comes on. The kit works best in cars that disconnect the power when you turn them off. I used this in my Pontiac and had to unplug it after parking and plug it back in when driving again to take advantage of all the features but in our Avalon the kit disconnects when the car is shut off and reconnects when we start it up again like a built-in system does. The only downside (and it's a small one) is that my wife like to listen to an AM news station and if a call comes in she has to switch to the AUX input in order to answer the phone. It's not a deal breaker but it is a reality if your audio source is going to regularly be something other than your phone. To that point, the call and music audio quality is as good as I've ever heard from a Bluetooth connection. Rock solid for music with a nice sound stage and no noise and calls are crystal clear using an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS update. I've both made and received calls from this kit and they both sound great. This is a great car kit and an exceptional value if you don't want to replace your head unit with a new one for Bluetooth calls and audio streaming through your car speakers.
