I purchased these bulbs nearly two years ago and have used them almost daily since then. They are incredibly bright, which I appreciate, because the room I have them in gets no sunlight. This has been one of my best Amazon purchases. I thought they seemed a bit expensive, but they've lasted so long that they have totally been worth the investment. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. I don't think I've ever been this excited about a light bulb.

After seeing a report on the limited spectrum output of the average LED light bulb, especially in the IR wavelengths, I decided to look for alternatives to the bulbs available. Right now, NORB is the only reasonable brand for the average consumer, the others are lights for wholesale office installation or specialty health lights that are not designed for casual home or office lighting. Previously I would purchase “warm” temperature LED bulbs as I never liked the “cool” or “natural” light. Too blue. The warm LED bulbs seem closer to traditional incandescent bulbs but as I discovered, the LED bulbs are designed to save energy by not emitting anything in the invisible IR wavelengths. Unfortunately the evidence accumulated since the creation of standards for LED bulbs is strongly indicating that our bodies need a daily dose of IR light for a healthy metabolism just as we need a dose of UV to help synthesize vitamin D internally. So inadvertently, by burning a filament, the original incandescent bulbs were emitting a more natural light which we perceived as heat. Installing the NORB bulbs next to a warm LED bulbs, one will see that the Everyday Sun Soft bulb is seemingly bluer. When I initially placed a couple NORB bulbs in a multi-bulb ceiling fixture but left a couple of the old LED bulbs in, I wasn’t happy with the NORB bulbs because they made me think of the dreaded cool LEDs but I left the NORB bulbs in to see how it would go. After a day I can honestly say that it was the older, warm LED bulbs rated at the same lumens and wattage that looked feeble and yellowish. The light emitted by the NORB bulbs is much better and makes a room seem happier. So the plan now is to slowly replace all the bulbs in the house with NORB bulbs. Every room I that replaced warm LED bulbs in a ceiling fixture with at least one NORB bulb is now a better room. Two caveats: The first is a small practical problem I encountered, two older fixtures I have couldn’t make contact with the bulb’s center contact. Compared with some other bulbs, the well-constructed NORB bulbs have a slightly shallower contact than other bulbs in my possession. So in the ceiling fixture older bulbs make contact but the NORB bulbs don’t. The desk lamp was easy to fix by pulling the contact in the socket up a little with a pliers (lamp unplugged, of course). The ceiling fixture will wait for an electrician but fortunately not all the sockets were like this. The second caveat is the price of the bulbs which is much more expensive than standard LED bulbs, especially with local power companies providing boxes of near-free LED bulbs from time to time. At least that’s how I got 24 60w equivalent LED bulbs a few years ago. My recommendation is to look around your dwelling or work space and see where a light directly shines on you for extended time; a desk lamp, a bedside lamp (the NORB Sleep bulbs are great), kitchen lighting, wherever. Purchase a couple NORB bulbs and see how the light changes the atmosphere of the area. Even a few bulbs will change your personal environment. Excellent lighting, hopefully NORB will thrive as a company and expand their line with candelabra socket bulbs (regular lighting, not specialty effects) and under-cabinet strip lighting.

I am actually noticing an uplifted mood since I have put this bulb in the livingroom and bathroom. I was skeptical but I really like it!

Love these lights. They are high quality but too expensive imo. They are really bright and help with mental clarity and mood. I really like them except they flicker in my dimmer switch when it’s not at the highest setting which is a bummer. So I can’t really dim them, and sometimes it’s just too bright depending on the time of day. But overall I recommend them if you want constant high brightness.

I was hoping for an actual daylight experience. These are not strong enough to brighten the room that much, but I do think they help some.

Lighting is bright but not overbearing and feels clean and crisp. I love the slow lighting on/off feature and am using it in my bedroom on my nightstand.

Good bulbs, light is very easy on the eyes. Sturdy box for packing so arrived in perfect condition.
