The Division Bell

The pinnacle of Watersless Floyd imo. Great album.

bought this for my brother and he loves it! quality is perfect and it’s a great price!

I have a fairly expensive headphone setup with an OPPO BDP105D universal disc player which has highly regarded Sabre DAC 32's built in, which is fed into a Monolith, Alex Cavalli, Liquid Platinum, hybrid tube amp in balanced mode connected to HiFiMan Arya headphones. If you're a stereo maniac like me, you'll know what that is, if not...then to put it into context, it's good enough to distinguish nuances and layers of sound (such as an even more prescient "fly buzzing" from the title track, amongst other minutiae,) that I'd never heard from my original version CD from two decades ago which WAS indeed quite good to begin with! However, IF you don't have a multiple thousand dollar setup, I doubt you'll know the difference. BTW, I'm not a stereo snob. I did need to listen to this new remaster often and with a great deal of attention (it IS one of MY favorite pieces of music and I could probably hum it "rote" in my mind),... before I could really ascertain said nuances and detail retrieval thus, the differences will be minimal, if at all, to most of us. Who knows, maybe it was some kind of placebo, psycho-acoustic, effect! LOL! Frankly, I was slightly disappointed. I was expecting some kind of "revelatory" experience I suppose! If anything, it is a testament to the way the original was recorded; though David Gilmour is on the record (whence he heard this "new" remaster) as having said "now this is the way we wanted it to sound when we first recorded it!" Quite possibly needed a little x-tra "scratch" to put a down payment on a villa near Pompei....or some such; I'd say that if anyone deserved it,... then so be it. You be the judge. The remastered CD is certainly inexpensive enough to take the plunge and that's exactly what I did! I would note that, when I do reach for the "Division Bell" CD,...it is this remaster that I put into my player! Hey folks, I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and coin in buying and listening to recordings that I buy here on amazon so if this review was HELPFUL, well...you know what to do! Nice and relaxing music , pink Floyd is always the best

I don't know how I missed this album for so long. I guess I was busy being a dad and working like a slave. Then, Youtube Music streamed some of these songs and I had to scope it out. I bought this at the same time as the Dark Side of the Moon. I have had that album for 40+ years and love it. This one is phenomenal too. Keep Talking-with Stephen Hawking robotic voice, A Great Day for Freedom (About the Berlin Wall coming down), Coming Back to Life.... I could go on but I would really recommend this album. Again, it is like meditation music for me. I can listen to it over and over again and the more I do, the calmer I get and the more meaningful the lyrics become. It was voted the best UK album of 1994 and in my opinion, it deserves an award of some kind. Many Thanks-Pink Floyd

Good album! Criminally underrated imo, sure it doesn't match dark side of the moon in terms of atmosphere or lyrics, but it sounds alright for casual listening.

Pink Floyd is one of the best of all time your collection is not complete without this one

The Division Bell is a superb-sounding pressing that really lets the album breathe. The remaster is warm, detailed, and spacious, with excellent dynamics and a wonderfully quiet surface. Tracks like High Hopes and Marooned sound especially immersive on vinyl. Overall, a beautiful edition that does this late-era Pink Floyd classic full justice.

Sonido espectacular. Llegó la carátula rozada por debajo. El vendedor no admite cambio. Solo devolución y si no hay más como era mi caso, me quedaba sin el vinilo. Por lo demás me encanta

Leí los review de otros compradores de amazon mencionando que el disco dos tenía saltos y lo compré aún sabiendo que me podía pasar y si, lo compre y tenía ese salto, hice una devolución, pensé que el disco estaba dañado, lo compre de nuevo y sorpresa, me volvió a saltar exactamente en mismo lugar, al finalizar la canción Taking Back del lado C del segundo disco, entonces pensé que se estaban haciendo mal las impresiones de los discos, y ya no lo devolví, me quedé con el pensando que era mi única opción de tenerlo aunque tuviera esos saltos. Pasó el tiempo y compré otra tornamesa, mi primera tornamesa era una Audio Technica LP60X y leí que este tipo de tornamesas tienden a saltarse en los discos modernos algo así por el nivel de volumen con el que están grabados, hace que salten las agujas en las canciones. Entonces compre una tornamesa que tuviera mas prestaciones una con ajuste de contrapeso para el brazo y anti-patinaje y entonces me compre en Amazon la tornamesa "Music Hall USB-1", maravillosa tornamesa! y pues si, se acabaron los saltos en los discos, no me salta en ninguno!!!!!!. Con esta experiencia, cuando leo reviews de personas diciendo que los discos están dañados y que a varias personas les pasa lo mismo en las mismas canciones, no es defecto del disco, lo mas probable es que usan tornamesas económicas para empezar con el hobby, y al final no es culpa de los discos. Espero que mi experiencia les ayude a elegir y que no se desanimen de comprar cuando leen acerca de estos saltos, ya que NO es el problema del disco y que consideren si es necesario, comprar mejores tornamesas. Al final estoy muy contento con el disco, se escucha increíble, la masterización es muy clara con el bajo limpio y firme y ya no me fue necesario volverlo a comprar.
