Balanced a badly unbalanced 7s3p Li-ion battery in just a couple of hours. Much more effective than resistive balancers.

Wasn’t paying good attention to what I was doing, hooked it up wrong and it started smoking for a solid 2 seconds. Survived and it still works.

Simple to install. Checked with my clamp meter and it would transfer up to 2 amps on my system. Though it balances more aggressively than a BMS, if batteries are way out of balance I recommend parallel balancing batteries first. I also recommend taping some barley paper over the exposed circuits to prevent short circuits.

This active balancer made an Eve 280 8S2P LFP battery perform as expected vs weird over voltages and erratic shutdowns. Most BMS are passive, <200 mA balance current. With large batteries, the imbalance easily exceeds the small amount. When I upgraded my batteries from 200A-hr to 560 A-hr, I had many unexpected performance issues. After I installed one of these, the battery is working darn near perfectly. I couldn't run my A/C overnight until I got this.
