The AudioControl AC-LGD Load Generating Accessory bypasses factory radio load-sensing mute functions by generating a stable impedance load. It plugs directly into AudioControl processors, amplifiers, and most devices with speaker-level inputs, ensuring seamless integration and uninterrupted audio performance in aftermarket sound systems.

So I have a Audio Control LC7i installed which converts my factory stereo’s speaker output signal to a 6 channel RCA output. The LC7i is feeding signal to a Skar 4 channel amp for my speakers and also to a Rockford Fosgate mono amp which powers my two 10” subwoofers. Starting about 2 weeks after everything was installed, I began getting numerous issues with my sound quality. Sometimes the stereo would behave strangely or even stop putting out sound all together, but most of the time my issue was the sound quality being absolutely awful. I spent a lot of time adjusting things, resetting my stereo, troubleshooting connections ect… Often times the sound would be terrible quality one second, and randomly it would just kick back to normal and sound great again after the song would change on Pandora, or if I changed the input source. Because of this I knew it was not a loose connection. I thought it was the LC7i failing or possibly a software glitch in the stereo’s firmware. Then totally by chance I came acting a post on the Ford Maverick truck forum from another guy and saw pictures of these units, so I did some research and ordered some for myself as it sounded like it could be my problem. Well, I actually ordered the wrong ones as my factory stereo isn’t amplified (READ ALL THE DETAILS) but these still seem to work totally fine (though it says in the directions it’s for amplified factory stereos). I have only had them for a day but now my stereo sounds fantastic! I agree with another reviewer who said he thinks it made his stereo sound quality much better. I 100% agree. My stereo sounds way better, and seems to be issue free. I wish I would have had these a year ago because it would’ve saved me a lot of time and trouble. So if anyone is playing to use ANY AudioControl DSP or line output converter with a Ford Maverick, I strongly recommend you spend the extra $30 for these and save yourself the headache. If you do have a factory amplifier, make sure you read all the details on the 3 different types of these units and get the one recommended for your vehicle. In my case it didn’t seem to matter but if my truck was amplified and had I purchased ones for non-amplified applications (lower wattages) then I’m sure it could cause you some sort problem. I’m pretty happy I can actually hear and understand the music for once.

I was throwing money left and right trying to track down a high gain sound “hiss” and this one one of the pieces of the puzzle which unfortunately did not cure it. However! I can tell a difference on how the factory radio reacts to this piece of hardware. The bass sound seems a little more controlled and accurate due to the simulated load. The same can be said of the highs too. It sounds a little more life like or before I modified the system. This device does not get hot which is what I was afraid of. Overall, cheap product to experiment with and I will leave in place because my system build is based on Sound Quality vs SPL. The vehicle I purchased this for is a 2020 Toyota Tacoma with the non JBL system. You technically don’t need these because the radio will allow auto sensing amplifiers and DSPs to work with no problem. In my application I just noticed a better overall sound difference. Very little but enough to persuade me to leave them in place. The hiss sound was my Helix DSP gains being too high for using high to low and I recently upgraded to a Rockford fosgate t400x4ad which solved the rest of the tiny hiss. It’s dead silent now and sounds like a club.

This is the best $30 you can spend if you are using high-level inputs (speaker-level inputs) into either an amp or line output converter (LOC)! The bass coming out of my sub was erratic. Sometimes it would hit, other times the bass was absent. I bought a LOC and it made an improvement, but still erratic bass. I purchased these and put them in immediately after delivery. The difference was night and day! My mono MTX amp is throwing out serious bass. Many modern day cars have everything integrated into the multi-function infotainment center. Therefore, using high-level inputs into an amp or LOC is a must. The stereo of these infotainment centers need a speaker load to put out the proper signal. These LGDs put the 'speaker load' back on the system. The result is a clean, stable signal going to your amp/LOC.

Not straight forward, but great quality. I adjusted the wire order, to match my lineout; but remember: The adapter screws loosen to install wires or ferrules. So a new one lossens (left or counter-clockwise turn) then you insert or remove a cable and tighten. Needed a precision screwdriver set to do that. Can double up wires before the adapter to bypass and use factory speaker on the other channels, like Front Left and Right. So I was able to reuse the adapter for those ones and keep factory speakers in front. So I just dont use the front channels for now, but borrowed the included cable adapters, a win-win.
