This worked good for me . Durable metal not cheap the fit was perfect for 6” duct. Proper airflow through it and shut as it should.

Amazing! I had an issue with my neighbor’s hing and turmeric cooking smell. It kept coming down to my apartment through the kitchen exhaust and it made all my clothes so smelly. Problem solved! I don’t smell any thing coming back to my apartment.

We have three fans in our master bath, which created an air circuit pulling either cold or muggy air into the house. Installing one of these in each duct has stopped that completely, stabilizing the temperature and humidity in the room (meaning our HVAC runs less often to compensate). As an added bonus, we didn't realize how much outside noise we could hear through those fans, but it's sure quiet now. The foam ring effectively silences the closing of the butterfly doors, so there's no closing noise when the fan turns off. Only nuisance issue is that the hinge pin sticks out enough on both ends that you can't insert this into the tapered collar end of a duct, nor can the tapered end quite fit into the ends of this fitting, so you have to cut completely through the duct to insert it. This issue is the only reason I don't give it five stars all the way around.

The side which the damper halves open to is too short to fasten with screws. The damper swings far, and my 1/2 inch zip screws (on six-inch duct) were too long to allow the damper halves to swing unimpeded. If the people who built this thing added another inch to the 'downstream' side, this would be a useful product. However, since screws are forbidden in dryer vent installations (they snag lint, clog the pipe, and pose a fire danger), this product would be fine for that. But for anything where code calls for screws, don't buy this thing.

Easy to install. Works perfectly. Used as a back draft damper for my Jenn-Air slide in island stove/oven. Oven has exhaust fan vent on bottom of stove through floor to basement and ducted between floor joists to outside wall opening. Placed 6" damper in line in the flexible duct....cooking steam, smoke, etc. out the vent...cold oir, debris prevented from coming back in the house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

I’m using this as an outside air to inside when bathroom fans are being used. Provides proper flow and closes when demand for outside air is not needed. I added a screened vent in the attic to keep unwanted visitors out if they’re up there and keep the damper clean.

I just installed this at the end of a bathroom exhaust fan (where it goes out the roof) to keep the winter air out of the insulated duct (to avoid condensation). The flaps work great but shouldn't the side closer to the fan be flared out (a female side and a male side)? I'm not a licensed tin basher but air moves in one direction and sharp edges should be avoided less dust and debris accumulate there. Even if this is installed in the middle of a run, shouldn't that still be the case? The flaps only open in one direction, so what am I missing? I had to really crimp the male end of the duct to get it in there (because the male end didn't fit around the outside of the damper either). I must be missing something because they all come like that. Is it because if you are using flexible duct, you have to use a hose clamp at each end? If so, why not offer two types? I was tempted to deduct a star because of that but I'm keeping it at 5 because it is a well built and solid damper.

Produit bien fait . L air froid de l exterieur ne rentre plus . Parconte il y a un HIC!!!. Comme la parti du clapet prend de l.espace dans la sortie l air qui évacué n aplus le même débit. Si vous avez une secheusse à haut rendement en chaleur . Le sensor du DRY ne fonctionne plus . La secheusse pense que votre filtre est plein et surchauffe la machine . Je pense le retirer pour l été.

Je l'ai installé sur la gaine 6''de ma hotte.En position basse,le clapet s'ouvre un peu.Le clapet s'ouvre a moitié en position forte car les ressorts sont assez fort mais assez pour que l'air passe.Bien construit.Par contre faut l'installer a l'horizontale car la vapeur d'eau dans le conduit va retomber sur les clapets qui gèleront en hiver bloquant leur ouverture.Donc satisfait.

Vraiment pratique, on l’a utilisé pour la sortie de sécheuse. Fini l’air froide de l’extérieur.
