It took me a few days to find the best grind and brew experience. I'm not a fan of metal filters and prefer paper single cup filters for clean up and no slug in the bottom of my coffee cup. The canFly Compatible for K-Carafe 4-CUP Reusable Coffee Filter Premium Disposable Paper Filters (Unbleached 100) work great. For me, I prefer to stop the grind with about 1/4 inch yet to fill (the grind button can be pushed to start and stop the grind as needed - so I let it grind for a bit, stop it, check it, then grind again until the cup has about 1/4 left to fill). Another tip: after putting the paper filter into the metal filter, I only put the metal filter under the grinder (I don't put the metal filter into the gray plastic case). After a few tries, I am now able to grind and brew a cup of coffee without any ground coffee on my countertop. The first coffeemaker that came didn't work: it would turn on and I could grind beans, but the coffee sizes lights never lit up and didn't do anything. Sent it back for a return. The second coffeemaker did the same thing. I called Cuisinart and they said to unplug the device and leave the coffee pod insert lever completely up. I let it sit for an hour like that, then with the lever still up, I plugged it in and it started working as expected. No issues for the past few weeks. The space to insert a cup in a bit small for me. Keurig has a generous space for different size mugs and travel mugs, but I can't fit my large Yeti, but it's not a deal breaker. I also found that the 8oz, 10oz, and 12oz cup sizes were all off by 2oz. 8oz button = 10oz of coffee, etc. So my favorite coffee cups fill almost to the top when I push the 8oz button. Again, not a deal breaker, but a bit of a surprise. I prefer the 8oz amount as I like my coffee a bit on the strong side. Having used various Keurig machines over the years, and the full-size coffee pot with a separate grinder, this machine is really an excellent solution for me. I usually only need one cup of coffee in the morning, so I can grind the beans, insert the filter in the pod, and brew a cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. The paper filter makes clean up quick and easy and I'm good to go.

I bought this Oct 2023, and started having issues February 2025. Until that point it was pretty decent. This was my first coffee machine as I went from powdered instant coffee to grinding my own beans. The reservoir is enough for about four 10 oz cups of coffee, which is decent for what I drink in a day. The machine "forces" you to descale it periodically (about every 6 months for me) which can be annoying but is probably a good practice regardless. The space under the brew head is too short to place a 20 oz Yeti-style travel mug, and the drip tray is a little more narrow than I'd like. I have a wider ~30 oz mug, for those really rough days, that does fit, but precariously. The grind size or duration is not adjustable, which is a bit of an annoyance because the metal filter basket the reusable pod comes with leaves a fine silt of grounds in the bottom of the mug. I added paper filters to prevent this, but it slightly diminishes the space for grounds in the filter basket. This means the automatic grind shutoff, which is calibrated for the metal filter basket, overflows the filter. The grinder can be shut off manually though so that is how I deal with it. My main issue with the machine is the cleanliness. After about 15 months of ownership, when using either disposable k cups or the reusable cup, water has started overflowing the top of said cup, where the needle pierces the lid, flooding the brew head area with water and coffee grounds. This wouldn't be awful in itself, but it leads to unfixable issues. The lid of the brew head is not removable, which means all the coffee grounds that float back in the chamber are very difficult to clean out (pictured). I tried rinsing them out by pouring water in the area and letting the water and grounds float to the drains located around the pod holder, only to realize the water was disappearing elsewhere. The water, and presumably coffee grounds, were leaking INTO the sealed part of the machine. There's now water and grounds inside an inaccessible part of the sealed machine, which will definitely lead to nastiness down the road. Cleaning the bean hopper is also very difficult since it is fixed in place, and inside of the hopper is a large gear head that transfers power to the removable grinding head. Attached is a picture that shows I can barely get my fingers half way down the hopper in the most open part, let alone where all the rigid supports are that make plenty of nooks and crannies. Unfortunately if I can't fix the overflow issue, I'll eventually have to replace this $100+ machine after only about a year and a half. Even if I can solve it, due to the inability to clean parts of it, it may be replaced before two years is up. Thankfully the stuck coffee grounds won't have an awful smell, at least for now.

I purchased this coffee maker to replace another brand that ground beans and made a single cup. This model does that but when grinding beans some of the grounds exit the cup, making a small mess. The cup that holds the grounds is a fine mesh but some fine grind can be found in the coffee. My other objection is filling the hopper with beans. The grinder mechanism extends vertical to the top of the bean hopper. When filling some beans fall out. A taller hopper would eliminate this issue. Overall it does make a good cup of coffee, allowing me to select what beans want to use. The amount of coffee selection works great allowing for different coffee cup sizes.

This is the best single-serve coffee maker I have ever had. I love that I get to use whole bean coffee, have it freshly ground and then brew it right away. It brews a full, generous 12 oz. cup of coffee. I had no idea with my Keurig I wasn't getting a full cup. While it's grinding, if I need to refill the water reservoir, it still grinds so it can multi-task. The brew basket has a thin piece of plastic for the hinge that already broke but I know I can replace the brew basket inexpensively. I can still use it. I just place the top on it before brewing. When it comes to refilling the coffee beans in the grinder, the only way I have found to do it is to spoon it in. That is a little tedious and sometimes the beans ricochet and go elsewhere but that's minor. After grinding the beans, I always tap the top of the grinder, the front of the grinder, and the brew basket because it tends to spill leftover ground coffee on the tray. It kind of works. Not foolproof. It seems there are always leftover grounds. I am very pleased with this coffee maker. It is so smartly engineered and makes a great cup of coffee!

This has become my favorite coffee pot that I have ever owned. It makes a cup of coffee, super fast. I wake up, hit the grind button, move the fresh ground coffee to the port, close it and hit brew. Start to finish. It’s about one minute. It makes a nice hot cup of coffee and you can choose the potency based on the size. (ounces.). I’ve owned this for 2 to 3 years and have had no problems with it. Obviously I’d like a late deer tank and bean container, but that because I’m lazy and don’t want to keep refilling it every few days. Hahaha.

I use this everyday and I like it. The ground coffee gets a little messy but it is no big deal and the coffee tastes good.

It still grinds coffee but it never lights up to brew any longer. What a waste of money, I thought Cuisinart was a good brand. While it worked, it did make a good cup of coffee but it grinds too many beans for one cup and it creates a mess at the coffee station; I’m constantly having to clean coffee grounds up on the counter and floor! I like the grinders that grind & brew without all the fuss of having to get a filter, stick it under the grinder, press the button to grind, remove the filter, close the lid, put it into the brew side close that lid, select a size and now you can brew. While you wait you can clean up the mess of the overflowing grinds and trying to snap the lid closed when it was over flowing. Actually takes longer to clean the mess than it does to brew. Nonetheless, it will not brew any longer so I can get rid of this messy machine! Never will I do this again! The other thing to note here is that the grinder while good, the item which holds the beans is a poor design. First the container (100% plastic) cannot be removed and also isn’t air tights to keep the beans fresh! So if you need to remove the beans, you have to unplug the machine, remove the water dispenser, and tip the machine upside down and shake it until all the beans fall out come out, if you forget to remove the lid, no worries it will fall off, the container for the beans is not air tight.. If you are the type that likes different beans this is NOT the machine for you because changing the beans is a PITA. If you and everyone in the house drink exactly the same thing everyday then I guess this will work for 7-10 months and then it will break. I see no advantages to this grinder from a separate grinder. A separate grinder will allow you to change the container, not be so messy, and you don’t have to keep the beans in there to go stale. It is not a quiet machine, but then no good coffee machine will be; if you want quiet get a percolator or instant! The grinder will wake any light to moderate sleeper and when it brews it builds up a pressure, heat, and spits and steams. If that didn’t wake you the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee will. The coffee is hotter than most single brews so it has that going for it, but as with most home machines everything is plastic and will cease to work much quicker than some professional machines. For $120 and not making it even a year, it is not a good value as I don’t think I even got a return on my investment being the machine cost me a $1 a day during its life. Add that to the cost of beans, waste, water, cream, sugar and labor to clean up the mess it made, it is actually cheaper to go get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. If this were a $49 machine then maybe it would be break even!

I have a love/hate relationship with this coffee maker. This is my second one, the first lasting me about 3 years. (I think it was my fault. I didn’t descale often enough) What I LIKE: It will hold enough water for my one cup a day for 6 day’s consumption. It’s easy to clean. I like the compact size and the aesthetics. The temperature of the coffee is perfect. It’s not real loud and brews in about a minute. I especially like the coffee grinder attachment. And that is what made me buy a second one. I do have a Burr Grinder but it’s not as convenient as having this one right on the machine. What I DON’T LIKE: At the end of the brew cycle, when it gives that last burst of water or air or whatever, it puts so much pressure on the contents that it causes it to overflow the container and it misses the coffee cup and makes a mess, therefore, I put a tray under it. The old coffee pot did the exact same thing, but my love for this coffee pot outweighs its bad points. I do think that it is a little overpriced but it’s in the name.
