Diffraction Gratings Slide - Linear 500 line/mm- Excellent for demonstrating the spectrum from various light sources

Great product. My 12 year old daughter used these for her seventh grade science fair project. She built a photo spectrometer and measured how the light diffracted using different types of colored liquid.

I'm building my own spectrograph and wanted to try this grating. They work very well and I can calculate wavelengths of various light spectra with great precision.

I had seen people using the Oldfield filter on YouTube and read that it was actually a diffraction filter that could be purchased at a lower price online. I do not know the specs on that filter so not sure it's exactly the same. The Oldfield filter is not longer being sold or produced as far as I can tell anyway. It arrived on good condition but I wish it were a bit bigger. Also the frame or holder is basically paper stock so it's not all that sturdy, moisture resistant or cleanable. It would have been nice to have it mounted in plastic. It think it's a little pricey given what you get and the shipping. I haven't used it yet but hope I get some nice results. I will update this review if I have anything to add.

It was very disappointing to open the package and find this little paper thing that doesn't even work and looks nothing like the picture advertised. I paid close to $5 US for this and it wasn't at all what I thought it would be.

when one is doing serious diffractification, this is one of the better ones to get. it makes your diffractifying all the more jolly.

Works just as advertised.
