Value is OFF SCALE!!
This preamp does it all! It has a processor (tape) loop, a mono switch, a phono stage, multiple tone adjustments and it sounds great! The only complaint that I have is that the ground wire for the phono input is located on the opposite end of the back panel from the phono input plugs and requires a separate ground wire (not the ground wire with the phono cable). Having said that, I hasten to add that the phono stage is dead quiet without a ground wire attached, at least in my system. The phono input can sound a bit bright as well, but there are multiple tone control adjustments available, so one can customize the sound; set it and forget it. The mono switch is useful if you're playing mono LPs. Likewise, if one has a tape recorder or an external processor that you'd like to switch in-and-out, then the tape loop (which, sadly, along with the mono switch, is an almost extinct feature today) is very useful. This is a "traditional" preamp, so don't expect Bluetooth connectivity or digital inputs and you definitely will not be disappointed.

Best in Class (price and quality )
This is a quality built product. I have to air my grievances about having the rack ends on the product. I will not remove a star for that aesthetic because I'm sure people use it in the rack. Anyways I was having trouble with my mixer to my avr . Now no issues. Great loud signal for all my sources. Strong metal casing and knows that I now use before any other knows. These are now my main knobs. OSD is a company I trust now . This is a superior product in its class for the price point . And anyone needing a signal boost that's clean and powerful for under 200. Can't be beat .

Works just fine
Just set this up. First off, it shipped timely, came well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Seller deserves 5 stars. Now for performance. (This is being used with a solid state Kenwood M1 -100 watt per channel power amp running through Klipsch Icon KB-15 bookshelf speakers hooked to a Klipsch sub-woofer, just for reference) All inputs function properly. All controls function properly. Sound is fine, nothing exceptional, but fully satisfactory for a preamp of this price. Separation is fine, depth is fine, tone is fine, again nothing exceptional, but very satisfactory. So for basic performance everything is doing what it should and how it should. The fine details: As mentioned in othe reviews, the volume knob is extremely touchy. With my 100 watt amplifier I donโt turn it up past 1/3 of total volume, and it is detented so getting the volume where you want it is difficult. ( solved this by buying a small in line volume knob to run between this pre-amp and the power amp. Cost about $12.00 on Amazon. Easy fix. Thanks to other reviewers for that heads up so I was prepared with my fix when I received this pre-amp). There is some low level cross talk from other inputs. ( just make sure that you turn off the other devices you have connected to this pre-amp and this is eliminated. In other words, even if you have the input for your CD player not selected, if you then select the input for your tuner, there will be a very slight sound from the CD player still coming through. Solution is donโt play you CD player while listening to your tuner, and donโt leave the tuner on when listening to the CD player, etc. A bit inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. Again thanks to previous reviews for that heads up. So, all in all, this item is exactly what I expected. It is a basic fully functional pre-amplifier that functions as it should and as I expected. For the money, it canโt be beat ( not to mention that there is no other pre-amplifier even made or sold in this price range). So if you are only looking for exactly what this is, and you donโt want to pay a minimum of $1000.00 for the next least expensive pre-amp out there, this is your next pre-amp. The only one made, the only one sold and the only one available to function as an acceptable pre-amp for your stereo setup. Hope this helps others in the same quandary that I was in when considering this purchase.

Punches Outside Of its Weight Class
I am more than pleased with this rack mount preamp. It is driving a couple of Carver PM-120 amps and it is doing an awesome job. At its price point my expectations were fairly low. This preamp destroyed those preconceptions totally. The noise level of this preamp is almost imperceptible, it delivers accurate musical reproduction regardless of the input selection. The big bonus is that it has a MM phono stage that lacks coloration and distortion. To say the least; this is more than one would expect at this price level and the heft of this component fully supports that claim. I wouldn't hesitate purchasing this preamp in the future.

Great EQ
Works perfectly for what I bought it for. The music I normally listen to, unlike the video above, requires a mid-range adjustment to sound right. All the EQ's on the market are a minimum of 11 bands, give me 22 settings to play and I'll never stop messing with the sound. This is great, I only ever touch 4 knobs. All the sound adjustment knobs are very sensitive to changing the sound. The only other knob I touch is the loudness knob, one cool feature that sets this unit apart from others. Normally a loudness button on your stereo just cranks all settings to maximum. This one actually changes the sound of the music as if you were playing it at louder volumes without changing the actual volume. It multiple inputs which works well for me. I plug the CD player and the turntable directly into the EQ, then plug the EQ into the the amp. So the EQ is the only unit I really ever mess with. For the price I was a little skeptical, but I can honestly say it works amazingly well, I did loose a tiny bit of sound quality. It was not enough to make me give up my new found control over the sound. After a week I didn't even notice the extremely small difference anymore. I've never used the mic and never will. So..but I would buy this unit over and over again.

Exceeded expectations !
Ordered this preamplifier reluctantly and tested it with Fluance turntable, the audio output was amazing. Bass, Mid and Treble controls are quite responsive. Power LED is little too bright. Build quality is very good except for the power cable. Loudness control is useless. Have connected CD, Vinyl, Cassette deck and phone to it. Loving it.

this thing is awesome
I really just picked this up because my receiver has no preouts, so I bring my signal straight from my pc to this preamp via the 3.5mm aux to rca adapter cable....but as it turns out, I find the bass, mid, treble, and loudness adjustment dials on this unit to be so effective and handy that I'm really not making tuning adjustment anywhere else.....the best part, though, is that I can set all of my volume/gain levels on my amps (running 3 right now) and on the pc where the signal comes from when i turn everything on, and from then on I only use the single volume dial on this preamp to adjust the volume up or down for everything....sounds like a small thing to some, but I listen to a lot of music and it gets to be a big pain if you don't have an easy way to make volume/gain adjustments on 3 frequency ranges with 2 channels per range...everything I need for the most part is right there on this preamp...I love it and it was more than affordable compared to pretty much anything else you'll ever buy for your audio system....any time you can spend $100 or less and it makes such a substantial change to how you can operate your many electronic wares, it is a huge win as far as I'm concerned...this unit had great reviews...and that is why i read the reviews religiously on Amazon...get one of these units....totally worth it!

Not for audiophiles
If you carte about the quality of the audio, this is not the product for you. Given the low cost, this is not terribly surprising, however, it is in my opinion low quality even for the price. Biggest issues: 1. Poor Signal to Noise ratio: Significant and noticeable white noise when no music is playing and volume is more than about 25%. If you listen to music that has few quiet parts, you may not notice it. If you listen to classical or other music with wide dynamic range in volume, then it will ruin the music for you. 2. Crosstalk: There is significant leakage between input channels. for example, if you have a tuner on one input and a CD on another, and are listening to the CD, you will also very faintly hear the tuner. There is very poor separation between inputs. 3. The mic input has no separate input selection setting,. This is because the mic input is always an input no matter what other source you select. If you want to listen to an MP3 player or a phone connected via cable through the mic input, you need to select a source with no audio input, otherwise, the two inputs will be mixed and you will hear both. You get what you pay for. If you are cranking on loud Rock&Roll or have low bit-rate mp3's, or otherwise don't care about sound quality and SNR and dynamic range, then this will probably work just fine for you. If you actually care abut the quality of the music, don't waster your money. After purchasing this unit, I was convinced that it was better to spend $200 getting my old Yamaha pre-amp fixed for the home stereo. I might use this unit in the garage, or most likely donate it...
