Great product!!!
Iโve only been using daily for about 2 weeks. Huge difference in that time, makes the tattoos pop. Iโm an ER nurse and comments on my tattoos have gone up the last 2 weeks. I love the feeling it leaves on for the whole day as well, very moisturizing!! Applications is easy, just take a little in your fingers and rub them together a little to soften the balm, then it rubs ride in. Easy peasy. The smell is not over powering at all. Great product and I look forward to using it for a long time!!

This stuff is great!
I started getting tattoos a couple years ago, and initially was unsure what to use. First tattoo artist just said use Aquaphor, and that worked alright, but nobody gave any advice on longer term care other than to โstay out of the sunโ. I live in a sun-drenched area so that isnโt exactly ideal - or even possible - and I donโt like long sleeves in warm weather. And besides, I donโt know too many people that get a tat and then want to keep it hidden most of the time (there are exceptions, of course). So, I did a lot of reading and searching. The one product that kept coming up and seemed universally respected by dermatologists, artists, and tattoo magazines alike was Mad Rabbitโs tattoo balm. So, I gave it a try and ordered one each of the two scents. I didnโt care for the lavender/frankincense, but the vanilla coconut was perfect. Not feminine (more neutral - this would smell good on anyone), and not strong, so you donโt feel like youโre rubbing perfume or cologne onto yourself. What about moisturizing? Iโve never had dry/patchy skin in the areas that I use this, and I donโt even apply it every day. It does come out of the tin a little thick but even their directions indicate you should warm/melt it a bit between your fingers before applying. If you do this, it goes on easier/smoother, but Iโve also just smeared a bit across where I want it and waned it with my hand a little before massaging it in, and that works, too. My skin likes this stuff and I have had zero allergic reactions to it. So, does it make the tats pop/brighten them? Well, my tats are all < 3 years old, so I canโt give a full review on this point, but I will say that all of my tattoos die pop just a little bit more when using this. The phoenix (red/orange/yellow tones) on my arm looks great, and itโs about a year old, but it is even more vibrant when I apply this. When I put this on my visible tats, people have noticed and commented. My oldest black tat, that doesnโt get much sun, looks bolder as well. So, Iโm going to say if I were to bet on it, I would bet confidently that this will do the same but more for my tats as they age, get exposed to sun, etc. I see some people here trying to use this for fresh ink. I would say hold off on that. This is thick and you will have to put strain on freshly inked skin to rub this in, and run the risk of pulling of scabs and peeling skin before your healing is complete. You donโt want to do that and run the risk of damaging/ruining your awesome new piece. There are lots of products for after care on fresh ink, but if you are sold on this company, their Repair Soothing Gel is pretty great. I used it on the last of my 3 tats - the largest one yet - and in 14 days it looked and felt like it was healed to the point it took my others 21-28 days to get to. It also soothes any itching/burning and locked in moisture but still let the skin breathe. Pretty impressive, and I will be using it on future ink for sure. If you arenโt happy with what youโre using and are looking for something else, check it out. You wonโt be sorry you did.

Great product. non greasy.
great product. I originally ordered the orange scented one but it is half the size for the same price. this one doesn't smell as tropical but it still smells nice and you get twice as much. works great on my tattoos, will buy again. I will say that this is non greasy and i have not had any break out using it. the first couple of days after a tattoo i use aquiphor which helps with healing but always seems to cause a slight breakout.

Smells amazing, butโฆ
Itโs much better if you put it in your pocket and warm it up before use. It is difficult to use if you donโt warm it up first, and it is easier if you warm it up in the tin. It is lightweight but sticky. It moisturizes well, but it has a gritty texture that does not feel good on a brand new tattoo. I love the Mad Rabbit soothing gel and bought this in a bundle with it. The quality is great, but overall I find it to be severely overpriced for what it isโ there are products of the exact same quality with the same ingredients for less money.

Makes your tattoos look new!
Love this tattoo balm. Makes my tattoos moisturized and makes them look good and new. It doesnโt have a fragrance to it. Does not irritate the skin.

Not as good as it claims to be
I keep hearing about how great Mad Rabbit is, both for helping with the healing process of new tattoos, and restoring old ones. I can't really speak to the "helping the healing process" part because I've only use it on my newest tattoo for the past 2 days. It's not different than Hustle Butter in it's consistency, so I assume it will do the job fine, but as far as restoring old tattoos? Rubbish. I had high expectations that my old tattoos would look amazing after a couple of applications of Mad Rabbit; they did not. They look the same, no epic shine or color intensity boost. My old tattoos look like they've had a layer of grease put on them; the colors are still dull but the skin is shiny. If I had known everything they claim is a gimmick, I wouldn't have purchased this. And the size of the little jar for the price makes it even more not worth it. I'll stick to my Hustle Butter in the future.
