Rush Deer Pocket Knife, Folding Knife with Clip,EDC Knife Utility Knives for Hiking Camping Fishing Work Outdoor (Black & Silver)

This is hands down one of the best budget knives I've ever bought from Amazon. I don't own any knives with the wire-type pocket clip so I figured at 12.99 it was worth the price to try one out. The clip is actually a little wider than the standard metal pocket clips, it also has a little wider opening at the bottom making it easier to clip over your pocket, and it's very easy to draw the knife from your pocket as well. The G10 handle scales are very smooth and comfortable in the hand. The blade on the knife that I received was very sharp right out of the box and required no honing in my opinion. The blade finish is nicely done and the top part of the blade above the decorative groove is stonewashed. It does have brass ball bearing washers, but the action isn't quite as smooth as you would expect, it does require a little flick of the wrist when deploying the blade but it still snaps open all the way and locks in place. I don't typically carry a knife in my pocket when I'm home for the day, but I did carry this knife for a day and found that it's so light you don't even notice it in your pocket. It's also fun just to pull out and flick the blade open and closed like a fidget device, something else I don't do often with knives. Being a medium sized knife it's perfect for EDC. This knife is now in my daily carry rotation and will see a lot of use in the near future as it's quickly become my new favorite.

Took a chance on this one before there were any reviews - the overall design and unique milling on the G10 scales caught my eye. It has exceeded my expectations. It’s lightweight due to the nested liners, but it is overall incredibly robust and well made. The lockup is rock solid and there’s absolutely no blade play. The milling and contouring of the scales is definitely a high point on this knife. It’s super comfortable and grippy and you don’t see this kind of milling very often on budget knives. Everything is well rounded and there are no sharp edges on the knife - except for the blade of course. Which brings me to the blade- it’s sharp! And pokey. No complaints there at all. If I did have any complaints about this knife, one would be that the billboarding (logo) on the blade is ugly and too dark. Kinda tarnishes the whole aesthetic but I’ll get over it. This is a user knife, not a show knife. Another slight negative is that the detent ball is too big. When pressing the lock bar in to close the knife you have to make a little more effort than on most knives to make sure the blade is riding on the detent ball before you release the lock bar. Otherwise it’s going to completely hang up on that ball. It’s really not a huge deal though and I got used to it very quickly. The detent is otherwise perfect and makes for snappy deployment via the flipper tab or the thumb hole. Both deployments feel very tight, satisfying and ‘clicky’. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and I can tell that this is a knife that I won’t hesitate to use due to a combination of blade sharpness, robust build quality and solid lockup.

I recently became familiar with the rush deer line of EDC knives just recently. I do a lot with tactical gear just like many others with molle equipment, or other gear that uses picatinny or M-Lok set ups, I am a big knife and survival, tactical individual. Now to be honest, I can't say the presentation of this knife was great it came in a pretty beat up black box that had holes in it the knife was in a bag and it had a little piece of paper in it giving you their website etc. which I made sure to added it in the pictures just in case you want to contact the company or see what other products they have for sale. Now, onto the knife. I am happy to say this was an absolute great pickup. This knife is simple straightforward and made of quality materials. It is about three inches as far as the blade it's very easy to sharpen it was pretty sharp on arrival, but it seems any knives that come off of Amazon definitely need extra sharpening. It's your standard push tension lock type of knife which I don't mind at all it has a little circle at the bottom to put maybe some paracord on it to use for a lanyard which is also pretty cool and welcomed. I am curious if you look at the photos next to that circle on the bottom it shows it empty and the ad as well it looks like a little indention that's like missing a grommet or something should go there I don't know what it is because it shows it in the ad empty as well if anybody has any thoughts on what it's supposed to be there I would love to know because for the life of me I have looked and I'm not sure what's supposed to fit in that area but I would appreciate the knowledge. I think the only gripe I have about this knife is the price. I have three of their knives now and they're all pretty quality knives for the most part, I've only had one fail on me, but I am really starting to like the brand. Another observation is they all needed extra sharpening when I got them, but they are tight and light EDC knives. This one in particular was definitely overpriced for what it is in my opinion. Typically, their knives range in the 20 to maybe $25 range tops because typically most of their knives are in the three-inch blade range no more than that. I can't remember what the cutoff legally, I want to say it's 6 inches or maybe 4/5 inches, but they typically do 3 from what I've seen so at $35 it's a little expensive in my opinion. However, I still bought this knife based on the brand because honestly the brand has grown on me and they make some decent products I would not pay $35 for this knife again to be quite honest but for what I got I'm very happy with it and I would definitely recommend it and it easily deserves 4 stars just because of the craftsmanship the quality the nice pocket clip it comes with, I have even used that clip and attached it to molle set ups for easy use when out in the elements hiking and camping already as the weather is still decent for it. It's definitely a winner of a life just not at the $35 price range. I give it 4 stars for being a durable and versatile knife and I would like to see them come much more sharpened from the seller or the factory either one.

It's hard to really set folding knife apart. They are all so similar it type and function. If it is a strong sharp blade and keeps a nice edge for a reasonable amount of use then great. This knife checks all of those boxes. The extra nice things it has are the ability to reverse the pocket clip which is great for us southpaws and the texture of the grip feels very good.

I did not like this knife when I got it out of the box. The handle scales look and feel cheap and the edges are not broken so it is a little bit uncomfortable to hold and use. That being said, I carried this knife on the weekends and while doing chores on my land after work for almost 2 months now. I am pretty impressed with it. I don't like the look or feel of the knife so I have not been trying to be gentle with it. The blade leaves something to be desired with edge retention but you can't expect great steel with a cheap knife. I have not broken the blade and it hasn't dulled to the point of being completely useless. I think this would be a useful option for someone that wants a knife they can leave in a camping set or bug-out bag and not worry about losing it or as a first knife for a child. I prefer a knife that feels better in the hand but that is my opinion, other people might like the feel of this.

I didn't expect much, and I wasn't wrong. This knife is very low quality. It's barely sharp. It just feels cheap. There is no locking mechanism. It's what is called a "friction folder." That's not necessarily a bad thing, but this knife just screams junk. I would not recommend this knife for any reason. This is the second Rush Deer knife I've received and they are both just absolute garbage.

Ever since breaking the tip on my last pocketknife I have been looking for a replacement so I thought I would give this one a try. Based on using this knife for a while now I can tell you that it is a super sharp pocketknife - both the blade and the tip. I have had and used knives for fifty years now and know what to look for and what to avoid and this one definitely is in the keeper category. It is so sharp that it slides through most things fast enough that you better be ready for it, so you don't hurt yourself our cut something else accidentally. It is one of the few knives that you really need to use with extra care because if you mess up it isn't going to stop if it makes contact with your own body. I barely bumped the tip with my hand, and it started bleeding and the blade edge is the same way. I haven't had to sharpen it yet so I can't speak to how well that aspect works but as far as keeping an edge, I have used it every day now multiple times and it's still as sharp as day one. I really can't say enough good about this knife and have no problems with recommending it to anyone looking for a good pocketknife.

To be completely honest, there are a lot of garbage pocket knives that are sold on this platform but this knife intrigued me, so I ordered it. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package for this knife was the fact that the handle has a very distinct look and feel that I haven't seen on any other knife. It's very smooth with a slight texture but it almost feels like it is cloth. It's hard to explain. The knife is incredibly sharp right out of the box. I've received pocket knives in the past that are kind of sharp but this one is really sharp. Also, the flip open action is really smooth. I can open it and close it all with one hand. It's not too big and it's not too small. This is going to be my new every day carry now. I'm glad I ordered this knife.
