Great Combination
I have been using a Logitech MX Revolution for several years now and it has to be the best mouse I've ever owned. Once before the scroll wheel began to seize up, so I bought a Logitech MX Performance, which I didn't like very much, so I managed to get my Revolution working again and I stashed the MX Performance. Lately, however, the the Revolution finally seems to biting the dust after about six years, so I went on a desperate hunt for another, knowing that it had been discontinued. After finding some very way over-priced models for sale, I finally found this combo for about third of the price of the mouse alone. So far, the keyboard is working good enough. As just a keyboard, this one is quite pleasant to use, although there is something of a learning curve, after using more cramped keyboards for a few years. The keys feel just fine and they are very responsive. I haven't learned to use all the extra features, yet, because I'm just glad that it's a good keyboard and eventually, I'll read the help section to get it all together. What can I say about the mouse? This is really what I was after and except for the Bluetooth arrangement, it's every bit the Revolution that my old model was. The Bluetooth isn't really a problem, but it takes some getting used to. Sometimes the connection is lost when the computer is in Sleep mode or just because. Reconnecting the devices is no problem at all, but you do need to keep the dongle in a front slot of the computer for convenience sake. On my first order, there was a shipping snafu, so I got a refund and ordered another. The day after the second order arrived, I got the first, so having already gotten the first to arrive set up and having been pleased, I just called Amazon and told them I wanted to keep both units and to bill me. Now I have a back-up for that eventual failure and with two, I may not even live that long. P. S. The "manual" that comes with the product is worse than useless, so adapt, improvise, and overcome.

Mouse is awesome, keyboard is battery only
So I actually bought this bundle on the hope that what was described as including the 'mx revolution' mouse really was the same as Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse (Black) . It's not only the same, it's better because it's bluetooth instead of proprietary wireless. Now I don't have to worry about losing the irreplaceable dongle from my old 2006 MX Revolution that they no longer sell the part for. If you're not familiar with this mouse, it has a heavy scroll wheel that you can spin and let go of and it will keep spinning, making it easy to get to the top or bottom of long web pages, documents, etc. Handy for programmers too. The wheel supports side to side motion and clicks as well. Logitech's later mice that have this type of scroll wheel have done away with the best part of what this mouse does; letting you decide how to use it by simply how fast you spin it. The later mice require you to push a button to let it free wheel versus a traditional scroll mouse; this one you just flick it and let go if you want to scroll a ways, or roll it like normal if you don't; no annoying extra button to press to change modes. Other than that, I just really like the geometry of this mouse and Logitech's later offerings never replicated how great this one is. As for the keyboard, unfortunately it is only usable via battery, you can't easily connect a cord to eliminate the need for batteries. However, it takes four AA's 2x2 in parallel, so if you have a DC adapter from Radio Shack or wherever with alligator clips, you could easily supply the necessary 3 volts by just clipping onto the battery prongs and close the cover over the cable. The LCD display on it is mostly useless information, like clock or key press count. Other than that drawback, it works as well as any other keyboard, nothing to write home about. It's convenient if you have a media center type TV that can talk bluetooth since you can get easily 30 feet out of it. Edit: After owning this for a month, I do have one complaint about the mouse. The power lights on it that are supposed to indicate how much it has left are not particularly accurate. It will go from three to one very quickly, and one to no longer powering on just as quick. Since the transmitter stays active to keep it paired with the computer, most likely you'll have instances of waking up and the mouse no longer working. So, probably best to throw it on the charger at the end of the day it drops to one bar if you leave it on all the time and want to use it the next morning.

Very nice product worth the money
I figure anything in electronics with a 5 year warrantee is worth $140 . I have to have a good keyboard and mouse . I use mine allot . I always have at least one backup . My first cordless started to act up . I believe the mouse just needed a new battery pack but they are expensive . I just stuck two AA batteries in it and it worked but to be safe I decided to purchase new and get rid of the old track ball bottom backup and corded keyboard . I read everything on this . One main complaint is the lack of a number lock . There are only 4 programable favorite keys that set just like a radio . Calculator is only on the LCD screen which is very hard to see in most lighting conditions . Its ok but they could of done better . There are no lit keys . I do hit the document flip allot . You can hit the computer on off button but its rare . However all the key shortcomings are made up for by the mouse if you maximize your learning curve for it . The key rest and stroke are wonderful . I love the feel of this board . The size is nice a tad more compact then my old 910 . The volume control doesnt show the green bar but it works . This takes some getting used too . This is a very nice unit . If you can afford to spend this kind of money without a problem its the one you want . I did not get 30 feet but I did get this to work 20 through a wall just testing it in my 800 sq foot home . What I like about it the most is the size . This is perfect for sitting on my lap . Its smaller then my old 910 . I am pleased and it will take time to get used to it . I will update in 6 months or so . I doubt I will be disapointed . The mouse is unbelievable . It has so many bells and whistles all programable . I did do what others said and went right to logitech and downloaded the latest set point softward its 4.72 right now . I didnt even use the install disk . I saw when I put in set point it also conected and updated the bluetooth hub . That is so nice smaller then a flash drive . This is perfect to be used in the house as a media / laptop saver / server or desktop universal unit . I just can't say enough good things about it . If your a student on a budget get the 110 for $30 it will work fine . Again if you wont sweat the price this is nice . Its the old deal that 10 year battery $30 timex is a great watch nobody needs more but its nice to own a automatic Rolex too . This has come down in price enough to be considerred a reasonable purchase in my mind . You may do better with the wave for strickly business applications but this is wonderful for home use . The blue tooth is not making a single mistake for me and I put the hub in the back of my desktop . Now off to figure out how I can use the hub with my other bluetooth devices . God Bless I am happy to me this package was worth the extra money . This mouse and the document flip features even though I hit it all the time are worth the $$$ . For the poeple that hate how this doesnt use windows calculator just open it then use doc flip . Read through the 77 reviews you will get some very good tips on how to modify this to make it better . People are wonderful about helping others here on Amazon . God Bless .

I LOVE THIS COMBO!!!
I have read a lot of reviews concerning this keyboard and mouse combo. Thankfully, I didn't listen to those that said the software didn't work or didn't like the combo. I absolutely love this keyboard and mouse so far. Granted, I just broke this beautiful equipment out of the box last night but so far, they both work like a champ!!! IF I run across problems, I will update this post and let you know....promise! I am using this combo with a Windows 7(Home Edition) Sony Vaio laptop. It was VERY user friendly straight out of the box. The software disc that comes with the hardware is an easy insert and install piece. It allows you to customize your keyboard and mouse to what suits you best as an individual. It also lets you update the software for both in one "easy to use" center. I must say, I am not using this keyboard and mouse for gaming so you will have to read someone else's post concerning that but I did notice with the "update" I installed, it allows for various changes for gaming. The keys on the keyboard are VERY nice and the mouse is very ERGONOMIC to the RIGHT hand. If you are a "lefty" you will have to find another type of combo to fit you. :( PS....I have not taken this keyboard a million feet away from the laptop to test the distance at which it stops working only because I wouldn't be able to see the screen! :) Don't shy away from trying this awesome combo because of a few posts from folks, I can personally tell you, it's worth the $$ and I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.

BEWARE OF LOGITECH WARRANTY SERVICE
I purchased a Logitech MX 5500 keyboard and mouse combination from Amazon about two months ago. It is an excellent product. Unfortunately, the item was defective. One of the keys began functioning intermittently. I contacted Logitech for warranty support. (The Logitech site shows a 3-year warranty for this product.) The Logitech CSR agreed that the product was defective. He told me that Logitech no longer makes the product. (It is still for sale on Amazon.) He said that I would have to accept a cheaper product in exchange. (He said no price adjustment was possible.) Furthermore, he said that Logitech would not cross-ship and that I would have to return the defective keyboard before the company would ship me a new one. This decision by Logitech would leave me without a functioning computer until they received the defective keyboard and I received the cheaper keyboard in return. This is not the end of the story. The CSR said that they would not begin the process until they received a PDF copy of my Amazon receipt. I generated the requested PDF and sent it to Logitech. This is their response: "We already verified the proof of the purchase the you sent regarding the Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution. But, I regret to inform you that the information on this receipt states that your purchase was made through a third party supplier on amazon. Because of this, we are referring to them for a replacement of your product." In other words, because of Amazon's choice of a supplier, Logitech is refusing to honor its warranty. I have purchased 15-20 Logitech products over the years. I will never purchase another one. I have never been treated like this by any manufacturer. I didn't expect it from Logitech.

Great if it can stay connected
I've been using this Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse for several months now. I have it connected to my laptop when I'm using it at home. When the mouse works, it's very good. However, the Bluetooth connection is not consistent, and I constantly need to reconnect the mouse by turning it off and on. This happens at least once a day, sometimes more frequently, and it usually happens while I'm moving the mouse pointer. Once disconnected, the mouse will reconnect if I turn the mouse's power switch off and then on again. However, this is a hassle, and it takes 5-10 seconds for the mouse to be recognized again. Before using this Logitech mouse, I've been using a Dell Bluetooth Mouse. That mouse didn't have this frequent disconnect problem, and usually lasted several weeks or more between disconnections. I've also had a Lenovo Bluetooth mouse, which disconnected more frequently than the Dell one, but still much less than this Logitech one. In my experience (and most other Bluetooth users' too), Bluetooth mice have a tendency to disconnect, so I don't think Logitech is completely to blame. However, disconnecting on a daily basis (often more than once per day) is unacceptable, especially when other mice can work much better on the same laptop. Other than the disconnect issue, the mouse is well built, feels comfortable, and the extra buttons work well. The buttons are customizable, but with some limitations (Logitech's SetPoint software gives you a limited list of functions to choose from). The Hyperscroll function works well too, but may take a bit of getting used to. The laser sensor works well on most surfaces (including my desk where my optical mouse didn't work too well). The battery lasts about 2-3 weeks for me, which is adequate, but I would probably prefer user replaceable batteries instead, so I could get longer battery life, and also not have to deal with the extra charger on my desk. The keyboard does not have the same issue as the mouse, and I haven't experienced any disconnections from the keyboard yet. The keyboard does get a bit laggy when the mouse spontaneously disconnects, but it is resolved when the mouse has been reset. Also, it takes a couple seconds for the keyboard to connect when turning on the laptop. When it gets to the Windows login screen, I can type my password and press enter, but it will take a couple seconds for it to register on the screen (not a big deal though, and I'm sure it's the same for all BT keyboards). The keyboard itself is very easy to type on, and the keys sound like they are slightly dampened, so it isn't very loud. I wouldn't say it's very quiet either, but at least it doesn't make annoying loud clacking sounds. There are many function keys that can be customized, and the LCD calculator function is quite convenient too (you can have the calculator button go to Windows Calculator instead if you don't like the LCD calculator). The media keys also work well. I haven't had to replace the batteries yet, so I can't comment on the battery life. Overall, this is a good product from Logitech, and since there aren't that many choices for Bluetooth keyboards & mice out there, I decided to keep this set even with the mouse connectivity issues. Some users may not experience the same disconnect issues, and for those users, I'd give the set 5 stars. However, for those that have the disconnect issues, the product is probably only worth 1-2 stars. That is why I gave it an average 3 star rating. If you want a good Bluetooth keyboard & mouse set, and are willing to take a chance with the connection problems, then order this product. Amazon is very good with returns anyway, so if you find that the mouse doesn't work well with your computer, you could always return the product. KEYBOARD: -Comfort 8/10 -Functions 9/10 -Keys Quietness 4/10 (0 being makes no sound, and 10 being unbearably loud) -Connectivity 9/10 -Battery Life 8/10 (estimated) MOUSE: -Comfort 8/10 -Functions 7/10 -Connectivity 1/10 -Battery Life 5/10

A lot of great features!
I have had this keyboard and mouse for over 3 years, and it still works great. I use it for gaming and it is responsive and there is no noticeable lag, even from the other room. The keyboard: I love all of the customizable keys on the keyboard. It's very useful. You can personalize it by setting the function of many of the keys, and it has a bunch of handy features such as the calculator, clock, temperature, and media controls. It takes 4 AA batteries which lasted over a year for me, and I use it a lot. The keys are the high type, not flat, and they are not silent. It doesn't bother me but some people don't like it. All I could think of that would make it better would be illuminated keys The mouse: This is the best mouse I have ever had. It's comfortable, and I like that it comes with a charging stand rather than batteries. In the beginning, the charge would last 2 months, but now after 3 years I have to charge it every two weeks. The best features of the mouse are the super scrolling and the 2 side buttons. The super scrolling allows you to spin the wheel and scroll very quickly down a web page. It didn't sound that great to me before I bought it, but it's one of those things that spoil you and then you can't do without. As for the 2 side buttons, I have them set to go forward and backwards. I also could not ever use a mouse without that function anymore without getting an extreme road rage type frustration. It makes it so much easier to be able to go back or forward a page or folder without having to move the mouse all the way up to the back and forth buttons. I highly recommend this, although I think that it's overpriced.

If you can afford it, its great... If youve got the time, read on...
If you have $100 to spend on a Keyboard + Mouse combo, I'd recommend this over any other at the price point. That doesn't mean it is perfect, or that this is the combo for you. I bought this combo because my Girlfriend spilled my drink on my old Logitech keyboard, and since I work in IT for a living, its a write off. I purchased this combo (after reading a few reviews on here and Newegg) SOLELY for the MX Mouse - the keyboard was needed - but I've used and love the mouse. To use most *extra* functions, like the LCD on the keyboard or the audio control buttons, flip 3d or zoom for example, you need the included SetPoint software. It is not required on Win 7. I have had wireless (though not Bluetooth) USB dongle keyboards since the first XP, and never used the software. I didn't need the functions, and didn't want to waste the system resources. I have installed SetPoint this time, since I've become used to these type functions on my MacBook, and this system I've built strong. - SetPoint Software: * .EXE (for 64 bit) is 26.6MB before install * It uses about 13.5k PWS Memory on Win 7 64 bit (iTunes is using 80k, Chrome 41k in comparison) * Running size on disk is 1.66MB (for my version) - Keyboard: * Great feel, soft typing keys have a good response with hardly any noise at all. * LCD is NOT BACK LIT - that means unless its got light on it somewhat directly, you may strain to see it. also its at the very top of the keyboard on a tilt, so if you have a slide out (under desk) tray for your keyboard the LCD MAY not be seen well or at all. * Range is great, but I only use it in my extra bedroom which is a recording room, so not a lot of room to move for me. * There is no Num lock, I like the beep to let you know youve hit the Caps lock - Mouse: * Great feel. I have larg(er) hands, still fits fine. Slides smooth and works on ANY surface. * Works beyond 12 feet away. Though I've never used it for long that way. * Response is fantastic. Falls asleep after a few moments of not being used. Wakes up instantly with no (millisecond at best) loss in my experience. * Does not have removable battery. Must be docked to included charging dock. * Fast scrolling is cool once you get used to it. Really not for everyone. Thats it. longest review Ive ever written not about audio equip. Hope it helps!
