Liked it so much I bought another one for another cat
Works like a charm, you will get another cat out of your first cat with this. The only thing I don't like is that the hair sort of floats off the comb and into the air sometimes, you have to adjust the way you brush, but otherwise, I love these! I wish I had known about this 10 years ago!!! It takes out sooooo much of the dead undercoat hair it is ridiculous. My cat looks fresh and clean and the coat is much nicer and shinier! Fantastic product!

100% on point
I have a labradoodle that matts quickly. She doesn't shed at all, but instead of making her look ridiculous cutting matts out. I found this online, and went with amount of buyers and reviews to be overwhelming. Best purchase I made for my puppy grooming wise. I now have a double doodle as well who has different type of hair, and it works great for him as well. My 19 mos old labradoodle doesn't tolerate it long, but that is her personality. My 4 month old DDoodle doesn't care at all- he just lays there. Multi Generation Doodles are amazing. Now that I have one I wouldn't get anything else because until you have one and realize - not only are they smart (at least mine are) the low maintanence of not vacuuming a cpl times a day is by far the best. Not having hair on anyone's clothes- no smelly wet dog smell. Grooming was the only set back- but now I found something making my life wicked easier.

A good product but needs instructions
Bought this to try to get the current mats out of my dog's hair. He is a Coton mix so he has fine, but thick straight hair that tends to mat when he gets wet. I have tried other items to try to get the mats out, and this one came the closest to success which is why I give it 4 stars. I was not able to get the existing mat out using this tool with out pulling on my dog's hair which upset him. I ended up just cutting the mat out. To be fair, I think that with time / practice this can be a very effective tool. My only complaint is that there are no instructions that come along with this product. There are two different sizes / widths of the teeth and was not sure which side to really use, nor if there a "best" method for using the tool.

Good Pet Brush
This is a nice cutting comb to use for thick hair that you would like to thin out you can't however cut out any knots with this brush. My cat had a spot where her fur was a little matted under her arm she has a lottttt of fur we though maybe this would work but it gets caught and would "cut" On the rest of her though it's perfect for thinning out her thick fur

Fantastic! It's my go-to for tangles and mats.
This is my top go-to for getting tangles and mats out of my dog's hair and fur. I have an 8 month old mini goldendoodle that has both golden retriever fur and poodle hair. The hair is extremely long, like 4 inches at least. Both the fur and hair are very fine, and he has accumulated a lot of tangles and some mats, mostly around his feet, legs, shoulders, and ears. I read somewhere that for goldendoodles you should use a steel comb instead of a slicker brush. I purchased just about all of the Hertzko dog grooming products. I tried the slicker brush with rounded tips, and it does collect some hair and fur, but it's not great. I tried the big steel comb, but it gets stuck on tangles and mats. I finally bought this dematting comb, and I must say, it's fantastic. You probably won't be able to get all of the tangles and mats out in one sitting. I've been doing it a couple of times a day for the past week, and most of the tangles and mats are OUT. With mats, you may have to be satisfied with just getting a bit of it out each time, until it's all gone. I just do it for 5-10 minutes. Otherwise my dog would probably stop jumping in my lap. Give your dog something he likes to CHEW on, and eventually he will become absorbed with chewing and not notice the combing so much. I sit on the sofa and he jumps up, and I run my fingers through his fur to find the tangles and mats, then attack one of them. My dog hates it, and runs off after I've harvested a tangle in the comb. He's very forgiving, though, and jumps back up for more. So just don't do it for too many minutes, and give your dog something to chew on, something tough. I can't imagine a groomer taking this much time or having as much patience as I do, so it's worth it to groom your own dog and not traumatize them too much. If you just keep at it, day after day, the tangles and mats will come out. Don't try to rush it. Use the steel comb after you use the dematting comb, to remove any loose hair. Update: I ordered the Hertzko flexible slicker brush, and it's a great addition to my dog grooming kit. I already had the slicker with rounded ends, and that one didn't work so well, but this flexible one with fine points really helps a lot. So my 3 main tools are: the steel comb, this double-sided rake, and the flexible slicker (see separate review). All three work well together!

I was skeptical
Seemed like a high price for what it seemed to be but had tried may different tools on our old long haired cat that can't keep herself groomed anymore. Mats all over her. This tool was the most effective. Over many sessions we were able to get them all out. She would not put up with it for too long but now she loves to be combed with it after all the painful mats are gone. This thing digs in and cuts the mats without risking a skin cut. Very smart design. Highly recommend it. Patience is key. It's a process but was getting nowhere before we got this. Happy cat now.

it pulls hair
this comb works but cat gets upset because it pulls hair when trying to remove matted fur. they advertised it works without pulling but it doesn't. it works great getting undercoat hair, but I had to cut the matted fur with scissors and shears before I use this comb as cat fights and gets upset if I try to use it to remove mats.

Simply an incredible comb for your animals
We have two cats and a dog. One of our cats fur was very badly matted because she could not clean herself. We thought the only way to help her would be to bring her to a groomer, but this comb really saved us. It took a little time and patience, but it got all the matted hair out and her fur looks better than it has in months. I cannot say enough nice things about this comb. If you are on the fence about buying it, please do. Also this particular cat hates being combed and although she doesn't love this comb, she seems to tolerate it more than the others we have tried.

Comb is not sharp at all
Bought this to work through the matts on my Shih Tzu. I found this comb too blunt to get through even minor matts without pulling too much on her skin.

This is one of the best tools for my dog's fur.
This is one of the best tools for my dog's fur. I've had many pets with all kinds of fur, and I've tried all kinds of products. A professional groomer told me about this one when she groomed my female's long, semi-wiry, wavy fur. It mats up like no other fur I've ever seen - ONE DAY after bathing any brushing pulls on it so much she is unhappy. This tool goes through it like no other and with less stress to her. I also use it on my long haired Turkish Angora cat. It rakes hair out really well, and any remaining loose hair I can pick up with this rubber tool, which is the best static one I've ever used on a cat: "KONG ZoomGroom, Cat Grooming Brush" In sum, I'd never want to be without either of these tools again.

Brilliant
My dog is doubled coated with short wire- hair. The product is great once you get the hang of it as going too fast means it pulls too much and hurts them. You have to do small bits a time. I didn't get mountains of hair off but you can hear and feel it dematting and I am hoping it will make it easier to wash her now her hair is separated properly. She fidgets a little but the expression on her face tells me she's enjoying it.
